1 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,

Jehová habló a Moisés en el monte Sinaí y le dijo:

2 S peak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto Jehovah.

«Habla a los hijos de Israel y diles: Cuando hayáis entrado en la tierra que yo os doy, la tierra guardará reposo para Jehová.

3 S ix years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruits thereof;

Seis años sembrarás tu tierra, seis años podarás tu viña y recogerás sus frutos.

4 b ut in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath unto Jehovah: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

Pero el séptimo año la tierra tendrá descanso, reposo para Jehová; no sembrarás tu tierra ni podarás tu viña.

5 T hat which groweth of itself of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, and the grapes of thy undressed vine thou shalt not gather: it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.

No segarás lo que de por sí nazca en tu tierra segada, y las uvas de tu viñedo no vendimiarás; año de reposo será para la tierra.

6 A nd the sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for thee, and for thy servant and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant and for thy stranger, who sojourn with thee.

Aun en descanso, la tierra te dará de comer a ti, a tu siervo, a tu sierva, a tu criado y al extranjero que habite contigo.

7 A nd for thy cattle, and for the beasts that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be for food.

También a tu animal y a la bestia que haya en tu tierra, servirán de alimento todos sus frutos.

8 A nd thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and there shall be unto thee the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years.

»Contarás siete semanas de años, siete veces siete años, de modo que los días de las siete semanas de años vendrán a sumar cuarenta y nueve años.

9 T hen shalt thou send abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month; in the day of atonement shall ye send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land.

Entonces harás tocar fuertemente la trompeta en el séptimo mes; el día diez del mes —el día de la expiación— haréis tocar la trompeta por toda vuestra tierra.

10 A nd ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

Así santificaréis el año cincuenta y pregonaréis libertad en la tierra a todos sus habitantes. Ese año os será de jubileo, y volveréis cada uno a vuestra posesión, y cada cual volverá a su familia.

11 A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of the undressed vines.

El año cincuenta os será jubileo; no sembraréis, ni segaréis lo que nazca de por sí en la tierra, ni vendimiaréis sus viñedos,

12 F or it is a jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

porque es el jubileo: santo será para vosotros. Del producto de la tierra comeréis.

13 I n this year of jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession.

»En este año de jubileo volveréis cada uno a vuestra posesión.

14 A nd if thou sell aught unto thy neighbor, or buy of thy neighbor's hand, ye shall not wrong one another.

Cuando vendáis algo a vuestro prójimo o compréis de manos de vuestro prójimo, no engañe ninguno a su hermano.

15 A ccording to the number of years after the jubilee thou shalt buy of thy neighbor, and according unto the number of years of the crops he shall sell unto thee.

Conforme al número de los años transcurridos después del jubileo comprarás de tu prójimo; conforme al número de los años de cosecha te venderá él a ti.

16 A ccording to the multitude of the years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of the years thou shalt diminish the price of it; for the number of the crops doth he sell unto thee.

Cuanto mayor sea el número de los años, aumentarás el precio, y cuanto menor sea el número, disminuirás el precio, porque según el número de las cosechas te venderá él.

17 A nd ye shall not wrong one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am Jehovah your God.

»No engañe ninguno a su prójimo, sino temed a vuestro Dios, porque yo soy Jehová, vuestro Dios.

18 W herefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep mine ordinances and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

Ejecutad, pues, mis estatutos y guardad mis ordenanzas; ponedlos por obra y habitaréis en la tierra seguros.

19 A nd the land shall yield its fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

La tierra dará su fruto, comeréis hasta saciaros y habitaréis en ella con seguridad.

20 A nd if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;

»Quizás os preguntéis: “¿Qué comeremos el séptimo año, ya que no hemos de sembrar ni hemos de recoger nuestros frutos?”

21 t hen I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years.

Yo os enviaré mi bendición el sexto año, y ella hará que haya fruto por tres años.

22 A nd ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits, the old store; until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, ye shall eat the old store.

En el octavo año sembraréis, y comeréis del fruto añejo; hasta el año noveno, hasta que venga su fruto, comeréis del añejo.

23 A nd the land shall not be sold in perpetuity; for the land is mine: for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.

»La tierra no se venderá a perpetuidad, porque la tierra mía es, y vosotros como forasteros y extranjeros sois para mí.

24 A nd in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.

Por tanto, en toda tierra de vuestra posesión otorgaréis derecho a rescatar la tierra.

25 I f thy brother be waxed poor, and sell some of his possession, then shall his kinsman that is next unto him come, and shall redeem that which his brother hath sold.

»Si tu hermano empobrece y vende algo de su posesión, entonces su pariente más próximo vendrá y rescatará lo que su hermano haya vendido.

26 A nd if a man have no one to redeem it, and he be waxed rich and find sufficient to redeem it;

»Cuando el hombre no tenga quien rescate, y consigue lo suficiente para el rescate,

27 t hen let him reckon the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return unto his possession.

entonces contará los años desde que vendió, y pagará lo que falta al hombre a quien vendió, y volverá a su posesión.

28 B ut if he be not able to get it back for himself, then that which he hath sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubilee: and in the jubilee it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.

Pero si no consigue lo suficiente para que se la devuelvan, lo que vendió estará en poder del que lo compró hasta el año del jubileo; y al jubileo quedará libre, y él volverá a su posesión.

29 A nd if a man sell a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; for a full year shall he have the right of redemption.

»El hombre que venda una vivienda en una ciudad amurallada tendrá facultad de redimirla hasta el término de un año desde la venta; un año entero será el término para poderla redimir.

30 A nd if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him that bought it, throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubilee.

Y si no es rescatada dentro de ese año, la casa que esté en la ciudad amurallada quedará para siempre en poder de aquel que la compró, y de sus descendientes; no quedará libre en el jubileo.

31 B ut the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be reckoned with the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubilee.

Pero las casas de las aldeas que no tienen muros alrededor serán estimadas como los terrenos del campo: podrán ser rescatadas y quedarán libres en el jubileo.

32 N evertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, may the Levites redeem at any time.

»Pero en cuanto a las ciudades de los levitas, estos podrán rescatar en cualquier tiempo las casas en las ciudades de su posesión.

33 A nd if one of the Levites redeem, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

En el jubileo, el que haya comprado de los levitas saldrá de la casa vendida o de la ciudad de su posesión, por cuanto las casas de las ciudades de los levitas son la posesión de ellos entre los hijos de Israel.

34 B ut the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

Pero la tierra del ejido de sus ciudades no se venderá, porque es posesión suya a perpetuidad.

35 A nd if thy brother be waxed poor, and his hand fail with thee; then thou shalt uphold him: as a stranger and a sojourner shall he live with thee.

»Si tu hermano empobrece y recurre a ti, tú lo ampararás; como forastero y extranjero vivirá contigo.

36 T ake thou no interest of him or increase, but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

No tomarás de él usura ni ganancia, sino tendrás temor de tu Dios, y tu hermano vivirá contigo.

37 T hou shalt not give him thy money upon interest, nor give him thy victuals for increase.

No le darás tu dinero a usura ni tus víveres a ganancia.

38 I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

Yo soy Jehová, vuestro Dios, que os saqué de la tierra de Egipto para daros la tierra de Canaán y para ser vuestro Dios.

39 A nd if thy brother be waxed poor with thee, and sell himself unto thee; thou shalt not make him to serve as a bond-servant.

»Si tu hermano empobrece estando contigo, y se vende a ti, no lo harás servir como esclavo.

40 A s a hired servant, and as a sojourner, he shall be with thee; he shall serve with thee unto the year of jubilee:

Como criado, como extranjero estará contigo; hasta el año del jubileo te servirá.

41 t hen shall he go out from thee, he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.

Entonces saldrá libre de tu casa junto con sus hijos, volverá a su familia y regresará a la posesión de sus padres,

42 F or they are my servants, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as bondmen.

porque son mis siervos, los cuales saqué yo de la tierra de Egipto: no serán vendidos a manera de esclavos.

43 T hou shalt not rule over him with rigor, but shalt fear thy God.

No te enseñorearás de él con dureza, sino tendrás temor de tu Dios.

44 A nd as for thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, whom thou shalt have; of the nations that are round about you, of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.

»Los esclavos y las esclavas que tengas serán de las gentes que están a vuestro alrededor; de ellos podréis comprar esclavos y esclavas.

45 M oreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they have begotten in your land: and they shall be your possession.

También podréis comprar esclavos de entre los hijos y familiares de los forasteros que han nacido en vuestra tierra y viven en medio de vosotros, los cuales podrán ser de vuestra propiedad.

46 A nd ye shall make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession; of them shall ye take your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel ye shall not rule, one over another, with rigor.

Los podréis dejar en herencia a vuestros hijos después de vosotros, como posesión hereditaria. Para siempre os serviréis de ellos, pero sobre vuestros hermanos, los hijos de Israel, no os enseñorearéis; nadie tratará a su hermano con dureza.

47 A nd if a stranger or sojourner with thee be waxed rich, and thy brother be waxed poor beside him, and sell himself unto the stranger or sojourner with thee, or to the stock of the stranger's family;

»Si el forastero o el extranjero que está contigo se enriquece, y tu hermano que está junto a él empobrece y se vende al forastero o extranjero que está contigo, o a alguno de la familia del extranjero,

48 a fter that he is sold he may be redeemed: one of his brethren may redeem him;

después que se haya vendido podrá ser rescatado. Uno de sus hermanos lo rescatará,

49 o r his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be waxed rich, he may redeem himself.

o su tío o el hijo de su tío lo rescatará, o un pariente cercano de su familia lo rescatará o, si sus medios alcanzan, él mismo se rescatará.

50 A nd he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he sold himself to him unto the year of jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years; according to the time of a hired servant shall he be with him.

Contará junto con el que lo compró, desde el año en que se vendió a él hasta el año del jubileo; y el precio de la venta ha de apreciarse conforme al número de los años, y se contará el tiempo que estuvo con él conforme al tiempo de un criado asalariado.

51 I f there be yet many years, according unto them he shall give back the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

Si faltan aún muchos años, conforme a ellos devolverá para su rescate parte del dinero por el cual se vendió.

52 A nd if there remain but few years unto the year of jubilee, then he shall reckon with him; according unto his years shall he give back the price of his redemption.

Y si queda poco tiempo hasta el año del jubileo, entonces hará un cálculo con él, y devolverá su rescate conforme a los años que falten.

53 A s a servant hired year by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule with rigor over him in thy sight.

Como a un asalariado contratado anualmente se le tratará. No se enseñoreará sobre él con rigor ante tus ojos.

54 A nd if he be not redeemed by these means, then he shall go out in the year of jubilee, he, and his children with him.

»Si no se rescata en esos años, en el año del jubileo quedará libre él junto con sus hijos,

55 F or unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

porque los hijos de Israel son mis siervos; son siervos míos, a quienes yo saqué de la tierra de Egipto. Yo, Jehová, vuestro Dios.
