1 T hen Job answered Jehovah, and said,

Respondió Job a Jehová y dijo:

2 I know that thou canst do all things, And that no purpose of thine can be restrained.

«Yo reconozco que todo lo puedes y que no hay pensamiento que te sea oculto.

3 W ho is this that hideth counsel without knowledge? Therefore have I uttered that which I understood not, Things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

“¿Quién es el que, falto de entendimiento, oscurece el consejo?” Así hablaba yo, y nada entendía; eran cosas demasiado maravillosas para mí, que yo no comprendía.

4 H ear, I beseech thee, and I will speak; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Escucha, te ruego, y hablaré. Te preguntaré y tú me enseñarás.

5 I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; But now mine eye seeth thee:

De oídas te conocía, mas ahora mis ojos te ven.

6 W herefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.

Por eso me aborrezco y me arrepiento en polvo y ceniza».

7 A nd it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

Aconteció que después que habló Jehová estas palabras a Job, Jehová dijo a Elifaz, el temanita: «Mi ira se ha encendido contra ti y tus dos compañeros, porque no habéis hablado de mí lo recto, como mi siervo Job.

8 N ow therefore, take unto you seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you; for him will I accept, that I deal not with you after your folly; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

Ahora, pues, tomad siete becerros y siete carneros, id a mi siervo Job y ofreced holocausto por vosotros. Mi siervo Job orará por vosotros y yo de cierto lo atenderé para no trataros con afrenta por no haber hablado de mí con rectitud, como mi siervo Job.»

9 S o Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as Jehovah commanded them: and Jehovah accepted Job.

Fueron, pues, Elifaz, el temanita, Bildad, el suhita, y Zofar, el naamatita, e hicieron como Jehová les había dicho. Y Jehová aceptó la oración de Job. Nueva prosperidad de Job

10 A nd Jehovah turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: and Jehovah gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Cuando Job hubo orado por sus amigos, Jehová le quitó la aflicción; y aumentó al doble todas las cosas que habían sido de Job.

11 T hen came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Jehovah had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one a ring of gold.

Todos sus hermanos, todas sus hermanas y todos los que antes lo habían conocido vinieron a él y comieron pan con él en su casa. Se condolieron de él, lo consolaron de todo aquel mal que Jehová había traído sobre él y cada uno le dio una moneda de plata y un anillo de oro.

12 S o Jehovah blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: And he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.

Jehová bendijo el postrer estado de Job más que el primero, porque tuvo catorce mil ovejas, seis mil camellos, mil yuntas de bueyes y mil asnas.

13 H e had also seven sons and three daughters.

También tuvo siete hijos y tres hijas.

14 A nd he called the name of the first, Jemimah: and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.

A la primera le puso por nombre Jemima; a la segunda, Cesia, y a la tercera, Keren-hapuc.

15 A nd in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

Y no había en toda la tierra mujeres tan hermosas como las hijas de Job, a las que su padre dio herencia entre sus hermanos.

16 A nd after this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.

Después de esto vivió Job ciento cuarenta años, y vio a sus hijos y a los hijos de sus hijos, hasta la cuarta generación.

17 S o Job died, being old and full of days.

Job murió muy anciano, colmado de días.
