1 I n the year that king Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple.

El año en que murió el rey Uzías vi yo al Señor sentado sobre un trono alto y sublime, y sus faldas llenaban el Templo.

2 A bove him stood the seraphim: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

Por encima de él había serafines. Cada uno tenía seis alas: con dos cubrían sus rostros, con dos cubrían sus pies y con dos volaban.

3 A nd one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is Jehovah of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Y el uno al otro daba voces diciendo: «¡Santo, santo, santo, Jehová de los ejércitos! ¡Toda la tierra está llena de su gloria!»

4 A nd the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

Los quicios de las puertas se estremecieron con la voz del que clamaba, y la Casa se llenó de humo.

5 T hen said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.

Entonces dije: «¡Ay de mí que soy muerto!, porque siendo hombre inmundo de labios y habitando en medio de pueblo que tiene labios inmundos, han visto mis ojos al Rey, Jehová de los ejércitos.»

6 T hen flew one of the seraphim unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

Y voló hacia mí uno de los serafines, trayendo en su mano un carbón encendido, tomado del altar con unas tenazas.

7 a nd he touched my mouth with it, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin forgiven.

Tocando con él sobre mi boca, dijo: —He aquí que esto tocó tus labios, y es quitada tu culpa y limpio tu pecado.

8 A nd I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me.

Después oí la voz del Señor, que decía: —¿A quién enviaré y quién irá por nosotros? Entonces respondí yo: —Heme aquí, envíame a mí.

9 A nd he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

Y dijo: —Anda, y dile a este pueblo: “Oíd bien, y no entendáis; ved por cierto, pero no comprendáis.”

10 M ake the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they sea with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.

Embota el corazón de este pueblo, endurece sus oídos y ciega sus ojos, para que no vea con sus ojos ni oiga con sus oídos ni su corazón entienda, ni se convierta y haya para él sanidad.

11 T hen said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until cities be waste without inhabitant, and houses without man, and the land become utterly waste,

Yo dije: —¿Hasta cuándo, Señor? Y respondió él: —Hasta que las ciudades estén asoladas y sin morador, no haya hombre en las casas, y la tierra esté hecha un desierto;

12 a nd Jehovah have removed men far away, and the forsaken places be many in the midst of the land.

hasta que Jehová haya echado lejos a los hombres y multiplicado los lugares abandonados en medio del país.

13 A nd if there be yet a tenth in it, it also shall in turn be eaten up: as a terebinth, and as an oak, whose stock remaineth, when they are felled; so the holy seed is the stock thereof.

Y si queda aún en ella la décima parte, ésta volverá a ser destruida; pero como el roble y la encina, que al ser cortados aún queda el tronco, así será el tronco, la simiente santa.
