1 S o these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

Cesaron estos tres varones de responder a Job, por cuanto él era justo a sus propios ojos.

2 T hen was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

Entonces Eliú hijo de Baraquel, el buzita, de la familia de Ram, se encendió en ira contra Job. Se encendió en ira por cuanto él se hacía justo a sí mismo más que a Dios.

3 A lso against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

Igualmente se encendió en ira contra sus tres amigos, porque aunque habían condenado a Job, no sabían responderle.

4 N ow Elihu had waited to speak unto Job, because they were elder than he.

Eliú había esperado a Job en la disputa, porque los otros eran más viejos que él;

5 A nd when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled.

pero viendo Eliú que no había respuesta en la boca de aquellos tres varones, se encendió en ira.

6 A nd Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; Wherefore I held back, and durst not show you mine opinion.

Respondió Eliú hijo de Baraquel, el buzita, y dijo: «Yo soy joven y vosotros ancianos: por eso he tenido miedo. He temido declararos mi opinión.

7 I said, Days should speak, And multitude of years should teach wisdom.

Yo decía: “Los días hablarán, los muchos años declararán sabiduría.”

8 B ut there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Ciertamente espíritu hay en el hombre, y el soplo del Omnipotente lo hace que entienda.

9 I t is not the great that are wise, Nor the aged that understand justice.

Pero no son los más sabios los que tienen mucha edad, ni los ancianos los que entienden el derecho.

10 T herefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will show mine opinion.

Por tanto, yo dije: “Escuchadme, declararé yo también mi sabiduría.”

11 B ehold, I waited for your words, I listened for your reasonings, Whilst ye searched out what to say.

»Yo he esperado a vuestras razones, he escuchado vuestros argumentos, en tanto que buscabais palabras.

12 Y ea, I attended unto you, And, behold, there was none that convinced Job, Or that answered his words, among you.

Os he prestado atención, y no hay entre vosotros quien redarguya a Job y responda a sus razones.

13 B eware lest ye say, We have found wisdom; God may vanquish him, not man:

Para que no digáis: “Nosotros hemos hallado sabiduría. Es Dios quien lo vence, no el hombre.”

14 F or he hath not directed his words against me; Neither will I answer him with your speeches.

Ahora bien, Job no dirigió contra mí sus palabras, ni yo le responderé con vuestras razones.

15 T hey are amazed, they answer no more: They have not a word to say.

»Se espantaron y ya no respondieron; se les acabaron los razonamientos.

16 A nd shall I wait, because they speak not, Because they stand still, and answer no more?

Yo, pues, he esperado, pero ellos no hablaban; antes bien, callaron y no volvieron a responder.

17 I also will answer my part, I also will show mine opinion.

Por eso yo también responderé mi parte; también yo declararé mi juicio.

18 F or I am full of words; The spirit within me constraineth me.

Porque estoy repleto de palabras y por dentro me apremia el espíritu.

19 B ehold, my breast is as wine which hath no vent; Like new wine-skins it is ready to burst.

De cierto mi corazón está como el vino que no tiene respiradero y que hace reventar los odres nuevos.

20 I will speak, that I may be refreshed; I will open my lips and answer.

Hablaré, pues, y respiraré; abriré mis labios y responderé.

21 L et me not, I pray you, respect any man's person; Neither will I give flattering titles unto any man.

Y no haré ahora distinción de personas ni usaré con nadie de títulos lisonjeros.

22 F or I know not to give flattering titles; Else would my Maker soon take me away.

Porque no sé decir lisonjas, y si lo hiciera, pronto mi Hacedor me consumiría.
