1 W oe unto the shepherds that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith Jehovah.

«¡Ay de los pastores que destruyen y dispersan las ovejas de mi rebaño!», dice Jehová.

2 T herefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, against the shepherds that feed my people: Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith Jehovah.

Por tanto, esto ha dicho Jehová, Dios de Israel, a los pastores que apacientan mi pueblo: «Vosotros dispersasteis mis ovejas y las espantasteis. No las habéis cuidado. Por eso, yo castigo la maldad de vuestras obras, dice Jehová.

3 A nd I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and multiply.

Yo mismo recogeré el resto de mis ovejas de todas las tierras adonde las eché, y las haré volver a sus pastizales; y crecerán y se multiplicarán.

4 A nd I will set up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be lacking, saith Jehovah.

Pondré sobre ellas pastores que las apacienten; y no temerán más, no se amedrentarán ni serán menoscabadas, dice Jehová.

5 B ehold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

»Vienen días, dice Jehová, en que levantaré a David renuevo justo, y reinará como Rey, el cual será dichoso y actuará conforme al derecho y la justicia en la tierra.

6 I n his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

En sus días será salvo Judá, e Israel habitará confiado; y éste será su nombre con el cual lo llamarán: “Jehová, justicia nuestra”.

7 T herefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that they shall no more say, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

»Por tanto, vienen días, dice Jehová, en que no dirán más: “¡Vive Jehová, que hizo subir a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto!”,

8 b ut, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up and who led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries whither I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land.

sino: “¡Vive Jehová, que hizo subir y trajo la descendencia de la casa de Israel de tierra del norte y de todas las tierras adonde yo los había echado!” Y habitarán en su tierra.» Denuncia de los falsos profetas

9 C oncerning the prophets. My heart within me is broken, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of Jehovah, and because of his holy words.

A causa de los profetas mi corazón está quebrantado dentro de mí, todos mis huesos tiemblan. A causa de Jehová y a causa de sus santas palabras estoy como un ebrio, como un hombre dominado por el vino,

10 F or the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. And their course is evil, and their might is not right;

porque la tierra está llena de adúlteros; por la maldición, la tierra está desierta y los pastizales del desierto se secaron. La carrera de ellos es mala y su valentía no es recta.

11 f or both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah.

«Tanto el profeta como el sacerdote son impíos; aun en mi casa hallé su maldad, dice Jehová.

12 W herefore their way shall be unto them as slippery places in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah.

Por tanto, su camino será como resbaladero en la oscuridad; serán empujados, y caerán en él; porque yo traeré mal sobre ellos en el año de su castigo, dice Jehová.

13 A nd I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

»En los profetas de Samaria he visto desatinos: profetizaban en nombre de Baal e hicieron errar a mi pueblo Israel.

14 I n the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

Y en los profetas de Jerusalén he visto torpezas: cometen adulterios, andan con mentiras y fortalecen las manos de los malos, para que ninguno se convierta de su maldad. Me son todos ellos como Sodoma, y sus moradores como Gomorra.

15 T herefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is ungodliness gone forth into all the land.

Por tanto, esto dice Jehová de los ejércitos contra aquellos profetas: “Yo les hago comer ajenjos y les haré beber agua envenenada, porque de los profetas de Jerusalén salió la impiedad sobre toda la tierra.”»

16 T hus saith Jehovah of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Jehovah.

Así ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos: «No escuchéis las palabras de los profetas que os profetizan; os alimentan con vanas esperanzas; hablan visión de su propio corazón, no de la boca de Jehová.

17 T hey say continually unto them that despise me, Jehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come upon you.

Dicen atrevidamente a los que me irritan: “¡Jehová dice que tendréis paz!” Y a cualquiera que anda tras la obstinación de su corazón, dicen: “No vendrá el mal sobre vosotros.”»

18 F or who hath stood in the council of Jehovah, that he should perceive and hear his word? who hath marked my word, and heard it?

Pero ¿quién estuvo en el secreto de Jehová, y vio y oyó su palabra? ¿Quién estuvo atento a su palabra y la oyó?

19 B ehold, the tempest of Jehovah, even his wrath, is gone forth, yea, a whirling tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked.

La tempestad de Jehová saldrá con furor; la tempestad que está preparada caerá sobre la cabeza de los malos.

20 T he anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it perfectly.

No se apartará el furor de Jehová hasta que lo haya hecho y hasta que haya cumplido los pensamientos de su corazón; al final de los días lo entenderéis cabalmente.

21 I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I spake not unto them, yet they prophesied.

«No envié yo aquellos profetas, pero ellos corrían; yo no les hablé, mas ellos profetizaban.

22 B ut if they had stood in my council, then had they caused my people to hear my words, and had turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

Si ellos hubieran estado en mi secreto, habrían hecho oír mis palabras a mi pueblo, y lo habrían hecho volver de su mal camino y de la maldad de sus obras.

23 A m I a God at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God afar off?

»¿Soy yo Dios de cerca solamente, dice Jehová, y no Dios de lejos?

24 C an any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.

¿Se ocultará alguno, dice Jehová, en escondrijos donde yo no lo vea? ¿No lleno yo, dice Jehová, el cielo y la tierra?

25 I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

»Yo he oído lo que aquellos profetas dijeron, profetizando mentira en mi nombre: “¡Soñé, soñé!”

26 H ow long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?

¿Hasta cuándo estará esto en el corazón de los profetas que profetizan mentira, que profetizan el engaño de su corazón?

27 t hat think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgat my name for Baal.

¿Con los sueños que cada uno cuenta a su compañero pretenden hacer que mi pueblo se olvide de mi nombre, del mismo modo que sus padres se olvidaron de mi nombre a causa de Baal?

28 T he prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? saith Jehovah.

El profeta que tenga un sueño, que cuente el sueño; y aquel a quien vaya mi palabra, que cuente mi palabra verdadera. ¿Qué tiene que ver la paja con el trigo?, dice Jehová.

29 I s not my word like fire? saith Jehovah; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

¿No es mi palabra como un fuego, dice Jehová, y como un martillo que quebranta la piedra?

30 T herefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that steal my words every one from his neighbor.

»Por tanto, yo estoy contra los profetas, dice Jehová, que se roban mis palabras unos a otros.

31 B ehold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

Dice Jehová: Yo estoy contra los profetas que endulzan sus lenguas y dicen: “¡Él lo ha dicho!”

32 B ehold, I am against them that prophesy lying dreams, saith Jehovah, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I sent them not, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all, saith Jehovah.

Ciertamente, dice Jehová, yo estoy contra los que profetizan sueños mentirosos, y los cuentan, y hacen errar a mi pueblo con sus mentiras y con sus lisonjas. Yo no los envié ni los mandé, y ningún provecho han traído a este pueblo, dice Jehová.

33 A nd when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of Jehovah? then shalt thou say unto them, What burden! I will cast you off, saith Jehovah.

»Y cuando te pregunte este pueblo, o el profeta o el sacerdote, diciendo: “¿Cuál es la profecía de Jehová?”, les dirás: “Ésta es la profecía: ‘Os abandonaré’, ha dicho Jehová.”

34 A nd as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of Jehovah, I will even punish that man and his house.

Y al profeta, al sacerdote o al pueblo que diga: “Profecía de Jehová”, yo enviaré castigo sobre tal hombre y sobre su casa.

35 T hus shall ye say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, What hath Jehovah answered? and, What hath Jehovah spoken?

Así diréis cada cual a su compañero y cada cual a su hermano: “¿Qué ha respondido Jehová? ¿Qué dijo Jehová?”

36 A nd the burden of Jehovah shall ye mention no more: for every man's own word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of Jehovah of hosts our God.

Y nunca más volveréis a decir: “Carga de Jehová”, porque la palabra de cada uno será una carga para él, pues pervertisteis las palabras del Dios viviente, de Jehová de los ejércitos, el Dios nuestro.

37 T hus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath Jehovah answered thee? and, What hath Jehovah spoken?

Así dirás al profeta: “¿Qué te respondió Jehová? ¿Qué dijo Jehová?”

38 B ut if ye say, The burden of Jehovah; therefore thus saith Jehovah: Because ye say this word, The burden of Jehovah, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of Jehovah;

Pero si decís: “Carga de Jehová”, entonces Jehová dice así: “Porque dijisteis esta palabra, ‘Carga de Jehová’, habiendo yo enviado a deciros: ‘No digáis: Carga de Jehová’,

39 t herefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, and the city that I gave unto you and to your fathers, away from my presence:

por eso, yo os echaré en el olvido y os arrancaré de mi presencia, a vosotros y a la ciudad que os di a vosotros y a vuestros padres;

40 a nd I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

y pondré sobre vosotros afrenta perpetua, eterna confusión que nunca borrará el olvido.”»
