1 A nd when Abram was ninety years old and nine, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

Abram tenía noventa y nueve años de edad cuando se le apareció Jehová y le dijo: —Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso. Anda delante de mí y sé perfecto.

2 A nd I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

Yo haré un pacto contigo y te multiplicaré en gran manera.

3 A nd Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

Entonces Abram se postró sobre su rostro, y Dios habló con él, diciendo:

4 A s for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be the father of a multitude of nations.

—Éste es mi pacto contigo: serás padre de muchedumbre de gentes.

5 N either shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.

No te llamarás más Abram, sino que tu nombre será Abraham, porque te he puesto por padre de muchedumbre de gentes.

6 A nd I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

Te multiplicaré en gran manera, y de ti saldrán naciones y reyes.

7 A nd I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee.

Estableceré un pacto contigo y con tu descendencia después de ti, de generación en generación: un pacto perpetuo, para ser tu Dios y el de tu descendencia después de ti.

8 A nd I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Te daré a ti y a tu descendencia después de ti la tierra en que habitas, toda la tierra de Canaán, en heredad perpetua; y seré el Dios de ellos.

9 A nd God said unto Abraham, And as for thee, thou shalt keep my covenant, thou, and thy seed after thee throughout their generations.

Dijo de nuevo Dios a Abraham: —En cuanto a ti, guardarás mi pacto, tú y tu descendencia después de ti de generación en generación.

10 T his is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee: every male among you shall be circumcised.

Éste es mi pacto, que guardaréis entre mí y vosotros y tu descendencia después de ti: Todo varón de entre vosotros será circuncidado.

11 A nd ye shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of a covenant betwixt me and you.

Circuncidaréis la carne de vuestro prepucio, y será por señal del pacto entre mí y vosotros.

12 A nd he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any foreigner that is not of thy seed.

A los ocho días de edad será circuncidado todo varón entre vosotros, de generación en generación, tanto el nacido en casa como el comprado por dinero a cualquier extranjero que no sea de tu linaje.

13 H e that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

Debe ser circuncidado el nacido en tu casa y el comprado por tu dinero, de modo que mi pacto esté en vuestra carne por pacto perpetuo.

14 A nd the uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

El incircunciso, aquel a quien no se le haya cortado la carne del prepucio, será eliminado de su pueblo por haber violado mi pacto.

15 A nd God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

Dijo también Dios a Abraham: —A Sarai, tu mujer, no la llamarás Sarai, sino que su nombre será Sara.

16 A nd I will bless her, and moreover I will give thee a son of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be of her.

Yo la bendeciré, y también te daré un hijo de ella. Sí, la bendeciré y vendrá a ser madre de naciones; reyes de pueblos nacerán de ella.

17 T hen Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is a hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

Entonces Abraham se postró sobre su rostro, y se rió y dijo en su corazón: «¿A un hombre de cien años habrá de nacerle un hijo? ¿Y Sara, ya de noventa años, habrá de concebir?»

18 A nd Abraham said unto God, Oh that Ishmael might live before thee!

Y dijo Abraham a Dios: —Ojalá viva Ismael delante de ti.

19 A nd God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.

Respondió Dios: —Ciertamente Sara, tu mujer, te dará a luz un hijo y le pondrás por nombre Isaac. Confirmaré mi pacto con él como pacto perpetuo para sus descendientes después de él.

20 A nd as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.

Y en cuanto a Ismael, también te he oído. Lo bendeciré, lo haré fructificar y multiplicar mucho en gran manera, engendrará doce príncipes y haré de él una gran nación.

21 B ut my covenant will I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

Pero yo estableceré mi pacto con Isaac, el que Sara te dará a luz el año que viene por este tiempo.

22 A nd he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

Acabó Dios de hablar con Abraham, y se alejó de él.

23 A nd Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.

Entonces tomó Abraham a su hijo Ismael, a todos los siervos nacidos en su casa y a todos los comprados por su dinero, a todo varón de la casa de Abraham, y circuncidó la carne del prepucio de ellos en aquel mismo día, como Dios le había dicho.

24 A nd Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

Tenía Abraham noventa y nueve años de edad cuando circuncidó la carne de su prepucio.

25 A nd Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

E Ismael, su hijo, tenía trece años cuando fue circuncidada la carne de su prepucio.

26 I n the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.

En el mismo día fueron circuncidados Abraham y su hijo Ismael;

27 A nd all the men of his house, those born in the house, and those bought with money of a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

todos los varones de su casa, tanto el siervo nacido en casa como el comprado del extranjero por dinero, fueron circuncidados con él.
