1 M y God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado? ¿Por qué estás tan lejos de mi salvación y de las palabras de mi clamor?

2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou answerest not; And in the night season, and am not silent.

Dios mío, clamo de día y no respondes; y de noche no hay para mí descanso.

3 B ut thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Pero tú eres santo, tú que habitas entre las alabanzas de Israel.

4 O ur fathers trusted in thee: They trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

En ti esperaron nuestros padres; esperaron y tú los libraste.

5 T hey cried unto thee, and were delivered: They trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.

Clamaron a ti y fueron librados; confiaron en ti y no fueron avergonzados.

6 B ut I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised of the people.

Pero yo soy gusano y no hombre; oprobio de los hombres y despreciado del pueblo.

7 A ll they that see me laugh me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

Todos los que me ven se burlan de mí; tuercen la boca y menean la cabeza, diciendo:

8 C ommit thyself unto Jehovah; Let him deliver him: Let him rescue him, seeing he delighteth in him.

«Se encomendó a Jehová, líbrelo él; sálvelo, puesto que en él se complacía.»

9 B ut thou art he that took me out of the womb; Thou didst make me trust when I was upon my mother's breasts.

Pero tú eres el que me sacó del vientre, el que me hizo estar confiado desde que estaba en el regazo de mi madre.

10 I was cast upon thee from the womb; Thou art my God since my mother bare me.

A ti fui encomendado desde antes de nacer; desde el vientre de mi madre, tú eres mi Dios.

11 B e not far from me; for trouble is near; For there is none to help.

No te alejes de mí, porque la angustia está cerca y no hay quien me ayude.

12 M any bulls have compassed me; Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

Me han rodeado muchos toros; fuertes toros de Basán me han cercado.

13 T hey gape upon me with their mouth, As a ravening and a roaring lion.

Abrieron contra mí su boca como león rapaz y rugiente.

14 I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; It is melted within me.

He sido derramado como el agua y todos mis huesos se descoyuntaron. Mi corazón fue como cera, derritiéndose dentro de mí.

15 M y strength is dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

Como un tiesto se secó mi vigor y mi lengua se pegó a mi paladar. ¡Me has puesto en el polvo de la muerte!

16 F or dogs have compassed me: A company of evil-doers have inclosed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.

Perros me han rodeado; me ha cercado una banda de malignos; desgarraron mis manos y mis pies.

17 I may count all my bones; They look and stare upon me.

¡Contar puedo todos mis huesos! Entre tanto, ellos me miran y me observan.

18 T hey part my garments among them, And upon my vesture do they cast lots.

Repartieron entre sí mis vestidos y sobre mi ropa echaron suertes.

19 B ut be not thou far off, O Jehovah: O thou my succor, haste thee to help me.

Mas tú, Jehová, ¡no te alejes! Fortaleza mía, ¡apresúrate a socorrerme!

20 D eliver my soul from the sword, My darling from the power of the dog.

Libra de la espada mi alma, del poder del perro mi vida.

21 S ave me from the lion's mouth; Yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen thou hast answered me.

Sálvame de la boca del león y líbrame de los cuernos de los toros salvajes.

22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: In the midst of the assembly will I praise thee.

Anunciaré tu nombre a mis hermanos; en medio de la congregación te alabaré.

23 Y e that fear Jehovah, praise him; All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; And stand in awe of him, all ye the seed of Israel.

Los que teméis a Jehová, ¡alabadlo! ¡Glorificadlo, descendencia toda de Jacob! ¡Temedlo vosotros, descendencia toda de Israel!,

24 F or he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath he hid his face from him; But when he cried unto him, he heard.

porque no menospreció ni rechazó el dolor del afligido, ni de él escondió su rostro, sino que cuando clamó a él, lo escuchó.

25 O f thee cometh my praise in the great assembly: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

De ti será mi alabanza en la gran congregación; mis votos pagaré delante de los que lo temen.

26 T he meek shall eat and be satisfied; They shall praise Jehovah that seek after him: Let your heart live for ever.

Comerán los humildes hasta quedar saciados; alabarán a Jehová los que lo buscan; vivirá vuestro corazón para siempre.

27 A ll the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto Jehovah; And all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

Se acordarán y se volverán a Jehová todos los confines de la tierra, y todas las familias de las naciones adorarán delante de ti,

28 F or the kingdom is Jehovah's; And he is the ruler over the nations.

porque de Jehová es el reino y él regirá las naciones.

29 A ll the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship: All they that go down to the dust shall bow before him, Even he that cannot keep his soul alive.

Comerán y adorarán todos los poderosos de la tierra; se postrarán delante de él todos los que descienden al polvo, aun el que no puede conservar la vida a su propia alma.

30 A seed shall serve him; It shall be told of the Lord unto the next generation.

La posteridad lo servirá; esto será contado de Jehová hasta la postrera generación.

31 T hey shall come and shall declare his righteousness Unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done it.

Vendrán y anunciarán su justicia; a pueblo no nacido aún, anunciarán que él hizo esto.
