1 O Israel, return unto Jehovah thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

¡Vuelve, Israel, a Jehová, tu Dios, pues por tu pecado has caído!

2 T ake with you words, and return unto Jehovah: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good: so will we render as bullocks the offering of our lips.

Llevad con vosotros palabras de súplica, volved a Jehová y decidle: «Quita toda iniquidad, acepta lo bueno, te ofreceremos la ofrenda de nuestros labios.

3 A ssyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses; neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods; for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

No nos librará el asirio; ya no montaremos a caballo, ni nunca más diremos a la obra de nuestras manos: “Dioses nuestros”, porque en ti el huérfano alcanzará misericordia.»

4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely; for mine anger is turned away from him.

«Yo los sanaré de su rebelión, los amaré de pura gracia, porque mi ira se apartó de ellos.

5 I will be as the dew unto Israel; he shall blossom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

Yo seré a Israel como rocío: él florecerá como lirio y hundirá sus raíces como el Líbano.

6 H is branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

Se extenderán sus ramas, su gloria será como la del olivo y perfumará como el Líbano.

7 T hey that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the grain, and blossom as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

Volverán a sentarse a su sombra; serán vivificados como el trigo y florecerán como la vid; su olor será como de vino del Líbano.

8 E phraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will regard him: I am like a green fir-tree; from me is thy fruit found.

Efraín dirá: “¿Qué tengo que ver con los ídolos?” Yo lo oiré y velaré por él; yo seré para él como un pino siempre verde; de mí procederá tu fruto.»

9 W ho is wise, that he may understand these things? prudent, that he may know them? for the ways of Jehovah are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall therein.

¿Quién es sabio para que sepa esto, y prudente para que lo comprenda? Porque los caminos de Jehová son rectos, por ellos andarán los justos, mas los rebeldes caerán en ellos.
