1 W oe unto the shepherds that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith Jehovah.

Горе пастирям тим, що розгублюють та розганяють отару Мого пасовиська, говорить Господь!

2 T herefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, against the shepherds that feed my people: Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith Jehovah.

Тому так промовляє Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, про пастирів тих, що пасуть Мій народ: Ви отару Мою розпорошили й їх розігнали, та не наглядали за ними. Ось тому покараю Я вас за лихі ваші вчинки, говорить Господь!

3 A nd I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and multiply.

А Я позбираю останок отари Своєї зо всіх тих країв, куди Я їх повиганяв був, і їх поверну на пасовиська їхні, і вони порозплоджуються та розмножаться.

4 A nd I will set up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be lacking, saith Jehovah.

І над ними поставлю Я пастирів тих, які пастимуть їх, і не будуть боятися вже й не злякаються, і не будуть загублені, каже Господь!

5 B ehold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

Ось дні наступають, говорить Господь, і поставлю Давидові праведну Парость, і Цар зацарює, і буде Він мудрий, і правосуддя та правду в Краю запровадить.

6 I n his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely; and this is his name whereby he shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

За днів Його Юда спасеться, Ізраїль же буде безпечний. А це Його Ймення, яким Його кликати будуть: Господь праведність наша.

7 T herefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that they shall no more say, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

Тому наступають ось дні, говорить Господь, і не будуть уже говорити: Як живий Господь, що вивів синів Ізраїлевих із краю єгипетського,

8 b ut, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up and who led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries whither I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land.

а тільки: Як живий Господь, що вивів і випровадив насіння дому Ізраїлевого з північного краю, і зо всіх тих країв, куди їх був повиганяв! І осядуть вони на своїй землі.

9 C oncerning the prophets. My heart within me is broken, all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of Jehovah, and because of his holy words.

Про пророків. Розривається серце моє в моїм нутрі, тріпочуть всі кості мої, я став, як п'яний, як той муж, що по ньому вино перейшло, через Господа й ради святих Його слів...

10 F or the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. And their course is evil, and their might is not right;

Бо земля перелюбниками стала повна, бо через прокляття потрапила в жалобу земля, повисихали в степах пасовиська, бо стався лихим їхній біг, їхня сила це кривда...

11 f or both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith Jehovah.

Бо й пророк та священик грішать, їхнє зло Я знайшов теж у домі Своїм, говорить Господь.

12 W herefore their way shall be unto them as slippery places in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith Jehovah.

Тому буде для них їхня дорога, мов сковзанка в темряві, вони будуть попхнені й впадуть через неї, бо зло Я спроваджу на них року навіщення їх, говорить Господь...

13 A nd I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

А в тих самарійських пророків Я бачив безглуздя, вони пророкували Ваалом собі, і вчинили блудячим народ Мій, Ізраїля!

14 I n the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them become unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

А в єрусалимських пророків Я бачив гидоту: перелюбство й ходіння в неправді, і руки злочинців зміцнили вони, щоб ніхто з свого зла не вернувся... Всі вони Мені стали, немов той Содом, а мешканці його, як Гомора...

15 T herefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem is ungodliness gone forth into all the land.

Тому так промовляє Господь Саваот про пророків оцих: Ось Я їх полином нагодую, і водою отруйною їх напою, бо від єрусалимських пророків безбожність пішла для всієї землі!

16 T hus saith Jehovah of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Jehovah.

Так говорить Господь Саваот: Не слухайте слів цих пророків, що вам пророкують, вони роблять безглуздими вас, висловлюють привиди серця свого, а не слово з уст Господніх.

17 T hey say continually unto them that despise me, Jehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come upon you.

Вони справді говорять до тих, що Мене ображають: Господь говорив: Мир вам буде! А кожному, хто ходить в упертості серця свого, говорять вони: Зло не прийде на вас!

18 F or who hath stood in the council of Jehovah, that he should perceive and hear his word? who hath marked my word, and heard it?

А хто ж то стояв на таємній Господній нараді, і бачив та чув Його слово? Хто до слова Його прислухався й почув?

19 B ehold, the tempest of Jehovah, even his wrath, is gone forth, yea, a whirling tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked.

Ось буря Господня, як лютість, виходить, а вихор крутливий на голову несправедливих впаде...

20 T he anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it perfectly.

Гнів Господній не вернеться, поки не зробить, і поки не виконає Він замірів серця Свого; наприкінці днів зрозумієте добре все це!

21 I sent not these prophets, yet they ran: I spake not unto them, yet they prophesied.

Цих пророків Я не посилав, вони побігли самі, Я їм не говорив, та вони пророкують.

22 B ut if they had stood in my council, then had they caused my people to hear my words, and had turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.

А якби в Моїй раді таємній стояли вони, то вони об'являли б народові Моєму слова Мої, і їх відвертали б від їхньої злої дороги, та від зла їхніх учинків.

23 A m I a God at hand, saith Jehovah, and not a God afar off?

Чи Я Бог тільки зблизька, говорить Господь, а не Бог і здалека?

24 C an any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith Jehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Jehovah.

Якщо заховається хто у криївках, то Я не побачу Його? говорить Господь. Чи Я неба й землі не наповнюю? каже Господь.

25 I have heard what the prophets have said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.

Я чув, що говорять пророки, що Йменням Моїм пророкують неправду й говорять: Мені снилося, снилось мені!...

26 H ow long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?

Як довго це буде у серці пророків, які пророкують неправду, та пророкують оману свого серця?

27 t hat think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgat my name for Baal.

Вони замишляють зробити, щоб народ Мій забув Моє Ймення, їхніми снами, які один одному розповідають, як через Ваала забули були їхні батьки Моє Ймення.

28 T he prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat? saith Jehovah.

Той пророк, що йому снився сон, нехай розповідає про сон, а з яким Моє слово, хай каже про слово правдиве Моє, що соломі до збіжжя? говорить Господь.

29 I s not my word like fire? saith Jehovah; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Хіба слово Моє не таке, як огонь, говорить Господь, і як молот, що скелю розлупує?

30 T herefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that steal my words every one from his neighbor.

Тому то ось Я на пророків, говорить Господь, що слова Мої крадуть один від одного.

31 B ehold, I am against the prophets, saith Jehovah, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

Ось Я на пророків, говорить Господь, що вживають свого язика, але кажуть: Це мова Господня!

32 B ehold, I am against them that prophesy lying dreams, saith Jehovah, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting: yet I sent them not, nor commanded them; neither do they profit this people at all, saith Jehovah.

Оце Я на тих, що сни неправдиві звіщають, говорить Господь, вони розповідають про них та впроваджують в блуд Мій народ своєю неправдою й глумом своїм, хоч Я не посилав їх і їм не наказував, і вони помогти не поможуть народові цьому, говорить Господь....

33 A nd when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of Jehovah? then shalt thou say unto them, What burden! I will cast you off, saith Jehovah.

А коли запитає тебе цей народ, чи пророк, чи священик, говорячи: Яке то Господнє пророцтво? то скажеш до них: Ви тягар, і Я вас поскидаю, говорить Господь.

34 A nd as for the prophet, and the priest, and the people, that shall say, The burden of Jehovah, I will even punish that man and his house.

А пророка й священика та той народ, який скаже: Господній тягар, то Я мужа того й його дім покараю!

35 T hus shall ye say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother, What hath Jehovah answered? and, What hath Jehovah spoken?

Отак скажете ви один одному й кожен до брата свого: Що Господь відповів, й що Господь говорив?

36 A nd the burden of Jehovah shall ye mention no more: for every man's own word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of Jehovah of hosts our God.

А про Господній тягар не згадуйте більш, бо кожному слово його стане за тягара, і ви перекрутили б слова Бога Живого, Господа Саваота, нашого Бога.

37 T hus shalt thou say to the prophet, What hath Jehovah answered thee? and, What hath Jehovah spoken?

Так пророкові скажеш: Що Господь тобі відповів, і Що Господь говорив?

38 B ut if ye say, The burden of Jehovah; therefore thus saith Jehovah: Because ye say this word, The burden of Jehovah, and I have sent unto you, saying, Ye shall not say, The burden of Jehovah;

Якщо ж будете ви говорити: Господній тягар, тому так промовляє Господь: За те, що ви кажете слово оце: Господній тягар, хоч Я посилав до вас, кажучи: Не говоріте Господній тягар,

39 t herefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, and the city that I gave unto you and to your fathers, away from my presence:

тому конче Я вас підійму, немов тягара, та й викину вас і те місто, що дав був Я вам та вашим батькам, від Свого лиця...

40 a nd I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.

І дам Я на вас сором вічний та вічну ганьбу, що не буде забута!...
