1 T hen Solomon began to build the house of Jehovah at Jerusalem on mount Moriah, where Jehovah appeared unto David his father, which he made ready in the place that David had appointed, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

І зачав Соломон будувати Господній дім в Єрусалимі на горі Морійя, що вказана була батькові його Давидові, на місці, яке приготовив Давид на тоці євусеянина Орнана.

2 A nd he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.

І зачав він будувати другого місяця, другого дня, четвертого року свого царювання.

3 N ow these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

А це основа будови Божого дому: довжина шістдесят ліктів старою мірою, а ширина двадцять ліктів.

4 A nd the porch that was before the house, the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

А притвор, щодо довжини, був за шириною храму, двадцять ліктів, а вишина сто й двадцять. І покрив він його зсередини чистим золотом.

5 A nd the greater house he ceiled with fir-wood, which he overlaid with fine gold, and wrought thereon palm-trees and chains.

А великий храм він покрив кипарисовим деревом, і покрив його добрим золотом, і наробив на ньому пальм та ланцюгів.

6 A nd he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

І покрив він той храм дорогим каменем на оздобу, а золото золото було з Парваїму.

7 H e overlaid also the house, the beams, the thresholds, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubim on the walls.

І покрив він золотом храм, балки, пороги, і стіни його та його двері, а на стінах повирізував херувимів.

8 A nd he made the most holy house: the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house, was twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits; and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.

І зробив дім Святого Святих: довжина його за шириною храму двадцять ліктів, і ширина його двадцять ліктів. І покрив він його добрим золотом, на таланти шість сотень.

9 A nd the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

А вага цвяхів на шеклі золота п'ятдесят; і горниці покрив золотом.

10 A nd in the most holy house he made two cherubim of image work; and they overlaid them with gold.

І зробив він у домі Святого Святих двох херувимів різьб'яною роботою, і покрив їх золотом.

11 A nd the wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long: the wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.

А крила херувимів: довжина їх двадцять ліктів, крило одного на п'ять ліктів, дотикалося стіни храму, а крило інше п'ять ліктів, дотикалося крила другого херувима.

12 A nd the wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub.

А крило другого херувима п'ять ліктів, дотикалося стіни храму, а крило інше п'ять ліктів, прилягало до крила іншого херувима.

13 T he wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.

Розтягнені крила цих херувимів двадцять ліктів; і вони стояли на ногах своїх, а їхні обличчя до храму.

14 A nd he made the veil of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubim thereon.

І зробив він завісу, блакить, і пурпур, і червень, і віссон, і наробив на ній херувимів.

15 A lso he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

І зробив він перед храмом два стовпи, тридцять і п'ять ліктів завдовжки, а маковиці, що на верху його, п'ять ліктів.

16 A nd he made chains in the oracle, and put them on the tops of the pillars; and he made a hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains.

І поробив ланцюги, як у девірі, і дав їх на верхи тих стовпів. І зробив сотню гранатових яблук, і дав на ланцюги.

17 A nd he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.

І поставив стовпи перед храмом, один з правиці, а один з лівиці. І назвав ім'я правому: Яхін, а ім'я лівому Боаз.
