1 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

(21-6) І було мені слово Господнє таке:

2 S on of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel;

(21-7) Сину людський, зверни ти обличчя своє до Єрусалиму, і крапай словами на святині, і пророкуй на землю Ізраїлеву.

3 a nd say to the land of Israel, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

(21-8) І скажи Ізраїлевій землі: Так говорить Господь: Ото Я проти тебе, і меча Свого витягну з піхви його, і витну з тебе справедливого й несправедливого.

4 S eeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

(21-9) Через те, що Я витну з тебе справедливого й несправедливого, тому вийде Мій меч проти кожного тіла від півдня на північ.

5 a nd all flesh shall know that I, Jehovah, have drawn forth my sword out of its sheath; it shall not return any more.

(21-10) І кожне тіло пізнає, що Я Господь, витяг меча Свого з піхви його, уже не вернеться він!

6 S igh therefore, thou son of man; with the breaking of thy loins and with bitterness shalt thou sigh before their eyes.

(21-11) А ти, сину людський, стогни, ніби мав би ти зламані стегна, і гірко стогни на їхніх очах!

7 A nd it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt say, Because of the tidings, for it cometh; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and it shall be done, saith the Lord Jehovah.

(21-12) І буде, коли тобі скажуть: Чого то ти стогнеш? то скажеш: На звістку, що йде, і кожне серце розтане, і всякі руки ослабнуть, і погасне всякий дух, і всі коліна зайдуться водою! Оце прийде та станеться, каже Господь Бог.

8 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

(21-13) І було мені слово Господнє таке:

9 S on of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith Jehovah: Say, A sword, a sword, it is sharpened, and also furbished;

(21-14) Сину людський, пророкуй і кажи: Так говорить Господь: Скажи: Меч, меч, нагострений він та блискучий!

10 i t is sharpened that it may make a slaughter; it is furbished that it may be as lightning: shall we then make mirth? the rod of my son, it contemneth every tree.

(21-15) Щоб приносити жертву нагострений він, щоб блищати він був полірований. Хіба будемо радіти? Хіба жезло сина Мого легковажить усякеє дерево?

11 A nd it is given to be furbished, that it may be handled: the sword, it is sharpened, yea, it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.

(21-16) І дали його виполірувати, щоб узяти в долоню. Це нагострений меч, і він полірований, щоб дати його в руку вбивця...

12 C ry and wail, son of man; for it is upon my people, it is upon all the princes of Israel: they are delivered over to the sword with my people; smite therefore upon thy thigh.

(21-17) Кричи та реви, сину людський, бо він проти народу Мого, він проти всіх князів Ізраїлевих, їх віддано мечеві з народом Моїм, тому вдарся по стегнах!

13 F or there is a trial; and what if even the rod that contemneth shall be no more? saith the Lord Jehovah.

(21-18) Та він уже випробуваний. Та що ж тепер, коли йому жезло обридло? Він не встоїть, каже Господь Бог.

14 T hou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thy hands together; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the deadly wounded: it is the sword of the great one that is deadly wounded, which entereth into their chambers.

(21-19) А ти, сину людський, пророкуй, і вдар долонею об долоню, і нехай меч подвоїться та потроїться! Це меч побитих, великий меч забитого, що кружляє довкола них.

15 I have set the threatening sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied: ah! it is made as lightning, it is pointed for slaughter.

(21-20) Щоб стопилося серце й полягло якнайбільше при всіх їхніх брамах, Я дам різанину меча. О горе, він справді зроблений блискучим, виполіруваним на різанину!

16 G ather thee together, go to the right, set thyself in array, go to the left, whithersoever thy face is set.

(21-21) Об'єднайся, праворуч іди, зверни ліворуч, іди, куди тільки звернене буде вістря твоє...

17 I will also smite my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest: I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

(21-22) І Я вдарю долоню Свою об долоню Свою, і Свою лють заспокою. Я, Господь, це прорік!

18 T he word of Jehovah came unto me again, saying,

(21-23) І було мені слово Господнє таке:

19 A lso, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; they twain shall come forth out of one land: and mark out a place, mark it out at the head of the way to the city.

(21-24) А ти, сину людський, признач собі дві дорозі, якими прибуде меч вавилонського царя. Вони вийдуть обидві із краю одного, а ти вистругай дороговказну руку, на початку дороги до міста її вистругай.

20 T hou shalt appoint a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified.

(21-25) Признач дорогу, якою прибуде меч до Рабби Аммонових синів та до Юди в укріплений Єрусалим.

21 F or the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he shook the arrows to and fro, he consulted the teraphim, he looked in the liver.

(21-26) Бо цар вавилонський став на роздоріжжі, на початку двох доріг. Щоб ворожити чарами, трясе він стрілами, питає домашніх божків, розглядає печінку.

22 I n his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build forts.

(21-27) У правиці його був чар на Єрусалим, щоб поставити муроломи, щоб відкрити уста на крик, щоб підняти голос окриком, щоб поставити муроломи на брами, щоб насипати вала, щоб збудувати башту.

23 A nd it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, who have sworn oaths unto them; but he bringeth iniquity to remembrance, that they may be taken.

24 T herefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.

(21-29) Тому так говорить Господь Бог: За те, що ви згадуєте свої провини, що відкриваєте ваші гріхи, щоб бачені були ваші гріхи ваших учинків, за те, що ви пригадуєте, у ворожі руки схоплені будете!

25 A nd thou, O deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end,

(21-30) А ти, недостойний, несправедливий князю Ізраїлів, що надійшов його день у час провини кінцевої,

26 t hus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre, and take off the crown; this shall be no more the same; exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high.

(21-31) так говорить Господь Бог: Зняти завоя й скинути корону! Це не зостанеться так, піднесеться низьке, а високе понизиться!

27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.

(21-32) Руїною, руїною, руїною покладу його! Та цього не станеться, аж поки не прийде Той, Хто має право, і Я Йому дам!

28 A nd thou, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and say thou, A sword, a sword is drawn, for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;

(21-33) А ти, сину людський, пророкуй та й скажеш: Так говорить Господь Бог на Аммонових синів та про їхню ганьбу: І скажеш: Меч, меч відкритий на різанину, блискучий, щоб блищав, як та блискавка,

29 w hile they see for thee false visions, while they divine lies unto thee, to lay thee upon the necks of the wicked that are deadly wounded, whose day is come in the time of the iniquity of the end.

(21-34) для тебе бачили обманні видіння, пророкували для тебе неправду, щоб посадити його на шию недостойних злочинців, яких день прийде в час кари кінцевої.

30 C ause it to return into its sheath. In the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy birth, will I judge thee.

(21-35) Верни ж меча до піхви його! У місці, де створений ти, у краю походження твого осуджу Я тебе!

31 A nd I will pour out mine indignation upon thee; I will blow upon thee with the fire of my wrath; and I will deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, skilful to destroy.

(21-36) І виллю на тебе Свій гнів, в огні пересердя Свого на тебе дмухну, і дам тебе в руку людей зухвалих, які знищення замишляють!

32 T hou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

(21-37) Ти станеш огневі на їжу, твоя кров буде серед землі, не згадають про тебе, бо Я, Господь, говорив це!
