1 T he word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

Слово, що було до Єремії від Господа, говорячи:

2 T hus speaketh Jehovah, the God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

Так говорить Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, кажучи: Напиши собі всі ті слова, що тобі говорив Я, до книги.

3 F or, lo, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will turn again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith Jehovah; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

Бо приходять ось дні, говорить Господь, і Я верну народ Мій Ізраїлів та Юдин, каже Господь, і верну їх до Краю, що їхнім батькам Я був дав, і вони посядуть його.

4 A nd these are the words that Jehovah spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

А оце ті слова, що Господь говорив про Ізраїля й Юду:

5 F or thus saith Jehovah: We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

Бо так промовляє Господь: Почули ми голос страху, переляку, й немає спокою...

6 A sk ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child: wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

Запитайте й побачте, чи родить мужчина? Чому ж це Я бачу, що в кожного мужа он руки його на стегнах його, немов у породіллі, і всяке обличчя поблідло?

7 A las! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Ой горе, бо це день великий, немає такого, як він! А це час недолі для Якова, та з нього він буде врятований!

8 A nd it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondman;

І буде в той день, говорить Господь Саваот, поламаю ярмо Я із шиї твоєї, а пута твої розірву, і не будуть чужі поневолювати більше його!

9 b ut they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

І будуть служити вони тільки Господеві, Богові своєму, і цареві своєму Давидові, якого поставлю Я їм.

10 T herefore fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith Jehovah; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.

А ти не лякайся, рабе Мій Якові, каже Господь, і не страшися, Ізраїлю, бо Я ось врятую тебе із далекого краю, і нащадків твоїх з краю їхнього полону! І вернеться Яків, і буде спокійний, і буде безпечний, і не буде того, хто б його настрашив,

11 F or I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to save thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have scattered thee, but I will not make a full end of thee; but I will correct thee in measure, and will in no wise leave thee unpunished.

бо Я із тобою, говорить Господь, щоб спасати тебе! Бо зроблю Я кінець всім народам, між якими тебе розпорошив, та з тобою кінця не зроблю, і тебе покараю за правом, бо не полишу тебе непокараним!

12 F or thus saith Jehovah, Thy hurt is incurable, and thy wound grievous.

Бо так промовляє Господь: Невилічальна пораза твоя, рана твоя невигойна!

13 T here is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

Немає того, хто б справу твою розсудив для твоєї болячки, нема в тебе ліків таких, щоб над раною м'ясо зросло!

14 A ll thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not: for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins were increased.

Забули про тебе всі друзі твої, до тебе вони не звертаються, бо ворожим ударом Я вразив тебе, жорстокою карою за численні провини твої, за те, що зміцніли гріхи твої...

15 W hy criest thou for thy hurt? thy pain is incurable: for the greatness of thine iniquity, because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

Чого ти кричиш про поразу свою, про свій біль невигойний? За численні твої беззаконства, за те, що зміцніли гріхи твої, Я зробив тобі це...

16 T herefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that despoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

Тому всі, що тебе поїдають, поїджені будуть, а всі вороги твої всі вони підуть в полон, і стануть здобиччю ті, хто тебе обдирає, а всіх, хто грабує тебе, на грабунок віддам!

17 F or I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; because they have called thee an outcast, saying, It is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

Бо вирощу шкурку на рані тобі, і з пораз тебе вилікую, говорить Господь, бо відкинута звано тебе, ти, Сіонська дочка, якої ніхто не шукає.

18 T hus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have compassion on his dwelling-places; and the city shall be builded upon its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited after its own manner.

Так говорить Господь: Ось Я поверну з полону шатра Яковові, і змилуюся над місцями його пробування, і на пагірку своїм побудується місто, а палац осядеться на відповідному місці своїм.

19 A nd out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

І вийде подяка із них та голос радіючих, і Я їх помножу, і не буде їх мало, і прославлю Я їх і не будуть принижені!

20 T heir children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me; and I will punish all that oppress them.

І сини його стануть, як перше, а збір його буде міцний перед лицем Моїм, і Я покараю всіх тих, хто його переслідує!

21 A nd their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is he that hath had boldness to approach unto me? saith Jehovah.

І буде із нього Потужний його, і постане Володар його з-поміж нього, й Я наближу Його, й Він підійде до Мене! Бо хто є такий, що наразить життя своє на небезпеку, щоб до Мене наблизитись? каже Господь.

22 A nd ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

І станете ви народом Мені, а Я буду вам Богом!

23 B ehold, the tempest of Jehovah, even his wrath, is gone forth, a sweeping tempest: it shall burst upon the head of the wicked.

Ось буря Господня, лютість виходить, а вихор крутливий на голову безбожних упаде.

24 T he fierce anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall understand it.

Не спиниться полум'я гніву Господнього, поки Свого не зробить, і поки не виконає замірів серця Свого, ви наприкінці днів зрозумієте це!
