1 И когато минаваше, видя един слепороден човек.

And passing by, he saw a man blind from birth,

2 И учениците Му Го попитаха: Учителю, поради чий грях - негов ли или на родителите му, той се е родил сляп?

and his disciples asked him, saying, `Rabbi, who did sin, this one or his parents, that he should be born blind?'

3 И сус отговори: Нито поради негов грях, нито на родителите му, но за да се изявят в него Божиите дела.

Jesus answered, `Neither did this one sin nor his parents, but that the works of God may be manifested in him;

4 Н ие трябва да вършим делата на Този, Който Ме е пратил, докато е ден; идва нощ, когато никой не може да работи.

it behoveth me to be working the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night doth come, when no one is able to work: --

5 Д окато съм в света, Аз съм светлината на света.

when I am in the world, I am a light of the world.'

6 К ато каза това, плю на земята, направи кал с плюнката и намаза с калта очите му;

These things saying, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and rubbed the clay on the eyes of the blind man, and said to him,

7 и му каза: Иди, умий се в къпалнята Силоам (което значи "пратен"). И така, той отиде, уми се и си дойде у дома прогледнал.

`Go away, wash at the pool of Siloam,' which is, interpreted, Sent. He went away, therefore, and did wash, and came seeing;

8 А съседите и онези, които преди го бяха виждали, че беше просяк, питаха: Не е ли този, който седеше и просеше?

the neighbours, therefore, and those seeing him before, that he was blind, said, `Is not this he who is sitting and begging?'

9 Е дни казваха: Той е; други казваха: Не е, но прилича на него. Той отвръщаше: Аз съм.

others said -- `This is he;' and others -- `He is like to him;' he himself said, -- `I am.'

10 Т огава го попитаха: А как ти се отвориха очите?

They said, therefore, to him, `How were thine eyes opened?'

11 Т ой отговори: Човекът, който се нарича Исус, направи кал, намаза очите ми и ми заръча: Иди на Силоам и се умий. И така, отидох и като се умих, прогледнах.

he answered and said, `A man called Jesus made clay, and rubbed my eyes, and said to me, Go away to the pool of Siloam, and wash; and having gone away and having washed, I received sight;'

12 Т огава му казаха: Къде е Той? Отговори: Не зная.

they said, therefore, to him, `Where is that one?' he saith, `I have not known.'

13 З аведоха при фарисеите човека, който преди беше сляп.

They bring him to the Pharisees who once blind,

14 А беше събота, когато Исус направи кал и му отвори очите.

and it was a sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

15 И така, фарисеите също го питаха как е прогледнал. И той им каза: Сложи кал на очите ми, умих се и гледам.

Again, therefore, the Pharisees also were asking him how he received sight, and he said to them, `Clay he did put upon my eyes, and I did wash -- and I see.'

16 З атова някои от фарисеите казаха: Този човек не е от Бога, защото не пази съботата. А други казваха: Как може грешен човек да върши такива знамения? И възникна раздор помежду им.

Of the Pharisees, therefore, certain said, `This man is not from God, because the sabbath he doth not keep;' others said, `How is a man -- a sinful one -- able to do such signs?' and there was a division among them.

17 П опитаха пак слепеца: Ти какво ще кажеш за Него, след като ти е отворил очите? И той каза: Пророк е.

They said to the blind man again, `Thou -- what dost thou say of him -- that he opened thine eyes?'

18 Н о юдеите не вярваха, че е бил сляп и прогледнал, докато не повикаха родителите му

and he said -- `He is a prophet.' The Jews, therefore, did not believe concerning him that he was blind and did receive sight, till that they called the parents of him who received sight,

19 и ги попитаха: Този ли е вашият син, за когото казвате, че се е родил сляп? А сега как вижда?

and they asked them, saying, `Is your son, of whom ye say that he was born blind? how then now doth he see?'

20 Р одителите отговориха: Знаем, че този е нашият син и че се роди сляп;

His parents answered them and said, `We have known that this is our son, and that he was born blind;

21 а сега как вижда, не знаем, или кой му е отворил очите, също не знаем. Питайте него; той е пълнолетен, нека сам говори за себе си!

and how he now seeth, we have not known; or who opened his eyes, we have not known; himself is of age, ask him; he himself shall speak concerning himself.'

22 Т ова казаха родителите му, защото се бояха от юдеите; понеже юдеите вече се бяха споразумели помежду си да отлъчат от синагогата онзи, който би Го изповядал като Христос.

These things said his parents, because they were afraid of the Jews, for already had the Jews agreed together, that if any one may confess him -- Christ, he may be put out of the synagogue;

23 З атова и неговите родители казаха: Той е пълнолетен, питайте него.

because of this his parents said -- `He is of age, ask him.'

24 И така, повикаха отново човека, който преди беше сляп, и му казаха: Въздай слава на Бога; ние знаем, че този човек е грешник.

They called, therefore, a second time the man who was blind, and they said to him, `Give glory to God, we have known that this man is a sinner;'

25 А той отговори: Дали е грешник, не зная; едно зная, че бях сляп, а сега виждам.

he answered, therefore, and said, `If he be a sinner -- I have not known, one thing I have known, that, being blind, now I see.'

26 З атова го попитаха: Какво ти направи? Как ти отвори очите?

And they said to him again, `What did he to thee? how did he open thine eyes?'

27 Т ой отговори: Казах ви вече и не чухте; защо искате пак да чуете? Да не би и вие да искате да Му станете ученици?

He answered them, `I told you already, and ye did not hear; why again do ye wish to hear? do ye also wish to become his disciples?'

28 Т огава те го наругаха и казаха: Ти си Негов ученик; а ние сме Моисееви ученици.

They reviled him, therefore, and said, `Thou art his disciple, and we are Moses' disciples;

29 Н ие знаем, че на Моисей Сам Бог е говорил, а Този не знаем откъде е.

we have known that God hath spoken to Moses, but this one -- we have not known whence he is.'

30 Ч овекът им отговори: Това е чудното, че вие не знаете откъде е, но въпреки това ми отвори очите.

The man answered and said to them, `Why, in this is a wonderful thing, that ye have not known whence he is, and he opened my eyes!

31 З наем, че Бог не слуша грешници; но ако някой е благочестив и върши Божията воля, него слуша.

and we have known that God doth not hear sinners, but, if any one may be a worshipper of God, and may do His will, him He doth hear;

32 А откак свят светува, не се е чуло някой да е отворил очи на слепороден човек.

from the age it was not heard, that any one did open eyes of one who hath been born blind;

33 А ко Този Човек не беше от Бога, не би могъл нищо да направи.

if this one were not from God, he were not able to do anything.'

34 Т е му отговориха: Ти цял в грехове си роден и нас ли поучаваш? И го изпъдиха навън.

They answered and said to him, `In sins thou wast born altogether, and thou dost teach us!' and they cast him forth without.

35 И сус чу, че го изпъдили навън, и като го намери, му каза: Ти вярваш ли в Божия Син?

Jesus heard that they cast him forth without, and having found him, he said to him, `Dost thou believe in the Son of God?'

36 Т ой отговори: А Кой е Той, Господи, за да вярвам в Него?

he answered and said, `Who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?'

37 И сус му каза: И си Го видял, и Който говори с тебе, Той е.

And Jesus said to him, `Thou hast both seen him, and he who is speaking with thee is he;'

38 А човекът каза: Вярвам, Господи; и Му се поклони.

and he said, `I believe, sir,' and bowed before him.

39 И Исус каза: За осъждение дойдох на този свят, за да виждат невиждащите, а виждащите да ослепеят.

And Jesus said, `For judgment I to this world did come, that those not seeing may see, and those seeing may become blind.'

40 Н якои от фарисеите, които бяха с Него, като чуха това, Му казаха: Да не сме и ние слепи?

And those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and they said to him, `Are we also blind?'

41 И сус им каза: Ако бяхте слепи, не бихте имали грях, но понеже сега казвате: Виждаме, грехът ви остава.

Jesus said to them, `If ye were blind, ye were not having had sin, but now ye say -- We see, therefore doth your sin remain.
