1 В третата година от царуването на цар Валтасар ми се яви видение на мене, Даниил, след онова, което беше ми се явило преди това.

`In the third year of the reign of Belshazzar the king, a vision hath appeared unto me -- I Daniel -- after that which had appeared unto me at the beginning.

2 В идях във видението (а когато видях, бях в палата Суса, който е в областта Елам; и когато видях във видението, бях при потока Улай),

And I see in a vision, and it cometh to pass, in my seeing, and I in Shushan the palace that in Elam the province, and I see in a vision, and I have been by the stream Ulai.

3 и така, повдигнах очите си и видях, че пред реката стоеше един овен, който имаше два рога; роговете бяха високи, но единият по-висок от другия; и по-високият беше израсъл по-късно.

And I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a certain ram is standing before the stream, and it hath two horns, and the two horns high; and the one higher than the other, and the high one is coming up last.

4 В идях, че овенът бодеше към запад, към север и към юг; и никой звяр не можеше да устои пред него и нямаше кой да избави от силата му; той постъпваше по волята си и се носеше горделиво.

I have seen the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward, and no living creatures do stand before it, and there is none delivering out of its hand, and it hath done according to its pleasure, and hath exerted itself.

5 А като размишлявах, ето, козел идеше от запад по лицето на целия свят, без да се допира до земята; и козелът имаше бележит рог между очите си.

`And I have been considering, and lo, a young he-goat hath come from the west, over the face of the whole earth, whom none is touching in the earth; as to the young he-goat, a conspicuous horn between its eyes.

6 Т ой дойде до овена, който видях да стои пред потока и имаше два рога, и се завтече срещу него с устремната си сила.

And it cometh unto the ram possessing the two horns, that I had seen standing before the stream, and runneth unto it in the fury of its power.

7 И видях, че се приближи към овена и се разсвирепи против него, и като удари овена, счупи двата му рога; и нямаше сила в овена да устои пред него; а козелът го хвърли на земята и го стъпка; и нямаше кой да отърве овена от силата му.

And I have seen it coming near the ram, and it becometh embittered at it, and smiteth the ram, and breaketh its two horns, and there hath been no power in the ram to stand before it, and it casteth it to the earth, and trampleth it down, and there hath been no deliverer to the ram out of its power.

8 З атова козелът се възвеличи много; а когато заякна, големият му рог се счупи и на мястото му излязоха четири изпъкнали рога към четирите небесни ветрища.

`And the young he-goat hath exerted itself very much, and when it is strong, broken hath been the great horn; and come up doth a vision of four in its place, at the four winds of the heavens.

9 И от единия от тях излезе един малък рог, който порасна твърде много към юг, към изток и към славната земя.

And from the one of them come forth hath a little horn, and it exerteth itself greatly toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the beauteous;

10 Т ой се възвеличи дори до небесната войска и хвърли на земята част от множеството и от звездите, и ги стъпка.

yea, it exerteth unto the host of the heavens, and causeth to fall to the earth of the host, and of the stars, and trampleth them down.

11 Д а! Възвеличи се дори до началника на множеството и отне от него вечната жертва; и мястото на светилището му бе съсипано.

And unto the prince of the host it exerteth itself, and by it taken away hath been the continual, and thrown down the base of his sanctuary.

12 И множеството беше предадено на него заедно с вечната жертва поради престъплението им; и той тръшна на земята истината, направи по волята си и успя.

And the host is given up, with the continual, through transgression, and it throweth down truth to the earth, and it hath worked, and prospered.

13 Т огава чух един светия да говори; и друг светия каза на този, който говореше: Докога се простира видението за вечната жертва и за престъплението, което докара запустение, когато светилището и множеството ще бъдат потъпквани?

`And I hear a certain holy one speaking, and a certain holy one saith to the wonderful numberer who is speaking: Till when the vision of the continual, and of the transgression, an astonishment, to make both sanctuary and host a treading down?

14 Т ой ми каза: До две хиляди и триста денонощия; тогава светилището ще се очисти.

And he saith unto me, Till evening -- morning two thousand and three hundred, then is the holy place declared right.

15 К огато аз, Даниил, видях видението, поисках да го разбера. И, ето, пред мене застана нещо като човешки образ;

`And it cometh to pass in my seeing -- I, Daniel -- the vision, that I require understanding, and lo, standing over-against me as the appearance of a mighty one.

16 и чух човешки глас, който извика изсред бреговете на Улай: Гаврииле, направи този човек да разбере видението.

And I hear a voice of man between Ulai, and he calleth and saith: Gabriel, cause this to understand the appearance.

17 И така, той се приближи до мястото, където стоях; и когато дойде, аз се уплаших и паднах на лицето си; а той ми каза: Разбери, сине човешки; защото видението се отнася до последните времена.

And he cometh in near my station, and at his coming in I have been afraid, and I fall on my face, and he saith unto me: Understand, son of man, for at the time of the end the vision.

18 И като ми говореше, аз паднах в несвяст с лицето си на земята; но той се допря до мен и ме изправи.

And in his speaking with me, I have been in a trance on my face, on the earth; and he cometh against me, and causeth me to stand on my station,

19 С лед това каза: Ето, аз ще те науча какво има да се случи в последните гневни времена; защото видението се отнася до определеното последно време.

and saith: Lo, I -- I am causing thee to know that which is in the latter end of the indignation; for, at the appointed time the end.

20 Д вата рога на овена, които си видял, са царете на Мидия и Персия.

`The ram that thou hast seen possessing two horns, the kings of Media and Persia.

21 Б уйният козел е гръцкият цар; и големият рог между очите му е първият цар.

And the young he-goat, the hairy one, the king of Javan; and the great horn that between its eyes is the first king;

22 А това, че той се строшил и излезли четири вместо него, значи, че четирима царе ще се издигнат от този народ, но не със сила като неговата.

and that being broken, stand up do four in its place, four kingdoms from the nation do stand up, and not in its power.

23 И в следващите времена на царуването им, когато беззаконниците стигнат до върха на беззаконието си, ще се издигне цар с жестоко лице и вещ в лукавство.

`And in the latter end of their kingdom, about the perfecting of the transgressors, stand up doth a king, fierce of face, and understanding hidden things;

24 Н еговата мощ ще бъде голяма, но не със своята сила; и ще погубва по чудодеен начин, ще успява и върши по волята си, и ще покорява силния и свят народ.

and his power hath been mighty, and not by his own power; and wonderful things he destroyeth, and he hath prospered, and wrought, and destroyed mighty ones, and the people of the Holy Ones.

25 Ч рез коварството си ще направи да успява измамата в ръката му, ще се надигне в сърцето си и ще погуби мнозина в спокойствието им; ще въстане и против Началника на началниците; но ще бъде смазан не с ръка.

`And by his understanding he hath also caused deceit to prosper in his hand, and in his heart he exerteth himself, and by ease he destroyeth many; and against the prince of princes he standeth -- and without hand he is broken.

26 А казаното видение за денонощията е вярно; все пак обаче запечатай видението, защото се отнася до далечни дни.

And the appearance of the evening and of the morning, that is told, is true; and thou, hide thou the vision, for after many days.'

27 Т огава аз, Даниил, примрях и боледувах няколко дни; после станах и вършех царските работи. А се чудех за видението, защото никой не го разбираше.

And I, Daniel, have been, yea, I became sick days, and I rise, and do the king's work, and am astonished at the appearance, and there is none understanding.
