1 С лед като мадиамският жрец Йотор, Моисеевият тъст, чу за всичко, което Бог извършил за Моисей и за народа Си Израел, как Господ извел Израел от Египет,

And Jethro priest of Midian, father-in-law of Moses, heareth all that God hath done for Moses, and for Israel his people, that Jehovah hath brought out Israel from Egypt,

2 т о Моисеевият тъст Йотор взе Сепфора, Моисеевата жена (след като я беше изпратил назад),

and Jethro, father-in-law of Moses, taketh Zipporah, wife of Moses, besides her parents,

3 и двамата ѝ сина (от които името на единия беше Гирсом, защото Моисей беше казал: Пришълец станах в чужда земя;

and her two sons, of whom the name of the one Gershom, for he said, `a sojourner I have been in a strange land:'

4 и мето на другия беше Елиезер, защото Моисей беше казал: Бащиният ми Бог ми стана помощник и ме избави от фараоновия меч);

and the name of the other Eliezer, for, `the God of my father for my help, and doth deliver me from the sword of Pharaoh.'

5 и Йотор, Моисеевият тъст, дойде при Моисей със синовете му и с жена му в пустинята до Божията планина, където се беше разположил на стан,

And Jethro, father-in-law of Moses, cometh, and his sons, and his wife, unto Moses, unto the wilderness where he is encamping -- the mount of God;

6 и извести на Моисей: Аз, тъст ти Йотор, идвам при тебе с жена ти и двамата ѝ сина с нея.

and he saith unto Moses, `I, thy father-in-law, Jethro, am coming unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.'

7 Т огава Моисей излезе да посрещне тъста си, поклони се и го целуна; и като се разпитаха един друг за здравето си, влязоха в шатъра.

And Moses goeth out to meet his father-in-law, and boweth himself, and kisseth him, and they ask one at another of welfare, and come into the tent;

8 И Моисей разказа на тъста си всичко, което беше направил Господ на фараон и на египтяните заради Израел, и всички мъчнотии, които ги сполетяха по пътя, и как Господ ги избави.

and Moses recounteth to his father-in-law all that Jehovah hath done to Pharaoh, and to the Egyptians, on account of Israel, all the travail which hath found them in the way, and Jehovah doth deliver them.

9 А Йотор се зарадва много за цялото добро, което Господ беше направил на Израел, като го избави от ръката на египтяните.

And Jethro rejoiceth for all the good which Jehovah hath done to Israel, whom He hath delivered from the hand of the Egyptians;

10 Т огава Йотор каза: Благословен Господ, Който ви избави от ръката на египтяните и от фараоновата ръка, Който избави народа от ръката на египтяните.

and Jethro saith, `Blessed Jehovah, who hath delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians, and from the hand of Pharaoh -- who hath delivered this people from under the hand of the Egyptians;

11 С ега зная, че Господ е по-велик от всички богове - даже и в това, с което те се гордееха, Той ги превъзхожда.

now I have known that Jehovah greater than all the gods, for in the thing they have acted proudly -- above them!'

12 Т огава Моисеевият тъст Йотор взе всеизгаряне и жертви, за да принесе на Бога; и Аарон и всички Израелеви старейшини дойдоха да ядат хляб с Моисеевия тъст пред Бога.

And Jethro, father-in-law of Moses, taketh a burnt-offering and sacrifices for God; and Aaron cometh in, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with the father-in-law of Moses, before God.

13 Н а другия ден Моисей седна да съди народа; и народът стоеше около Моисей от сутрин до вечер.

And it cometh to pass on the morrow, that Moses sitteth to judge the people, and the people stand before Moses, from the morning unto the evening;

14 А Моисеевият тъст, като видя всичко, което той вършеше за народа, каза: Какво е това, което правиш с народа? Защо седиш сам и целият народ стои около теб от сутрин до вечер?

and the father-in-law of Moses seeth all that he is doing to the people, and saith, `What this thing which thou art doing to the people? wherefore art thou sitting by thyself, and all the people standing by thee from morning till evening?'

15 А Моисей отговори на тъста си: Защото народът идва при мене да се допитва до Бога.

And Moses saith to his father-in-law, `Because the people come unto me to seek God;

16 К огато имат дело, идват при мен; и аз съдя между двамата противници и им пояснявам Божиите наредби и закони.

when they have a matter, it hath come unto me, and I have judged between a man and his neighbour, and made known the statutes of God, and His laws.'

17 Н о Моисеевият тъст каза: Това, което правиш, не е добро.

And the father-in-law of Moses saith unto him, `The thing which thou art doing not good;

18 И ти ще се измъчиш, и този народ, който е с тебе, защото това е много тежко за тебе; не можеш да го вършиш сам.

thou dost surely wear away, both thou, and this people which with thee, for the thing is too heavy for thee, thou art not able to do it by thyself.

19 С ега послушай думите ми; ще те посъветвам - и Бог да бъде с тебе. Ти стой между народа и Бога, за да представяш делата пред Бога;

`Now, hearken to my voice, I counsel thee, and God is with thee: be thou for the people over-against God, and thou hast brought in the things unto God;

20 и ги поучавай в наредбите и законите и им показвай пътя, по който трябва да ходят, и делата, които трябва да вършат.

and thou hast warned them the statutes and the laws, and hast made known to them the way in which they go, and the work which they do.

21 Н о при това измежду целия народ си избери способни мъже, които се боят от Бога, обичат истината и мразят несправедливата печалба, и постави над народа такива за хилядници, стотници, петдесетници и десетници;

`And thou -- thou dost provide out of all the people men of ability, fearing God, men of truth, hating dishonest gain, and hast placed over them, heads of thousands, heads of hundreds, heads of fifties, and heads of tens,

22 и те нека съдят народа винаги - всяко голямо дело нека донасят пред теб, а всяко малко дело нека отсъждат сами; така ще ти олекне и те ще носят товара заедно с теб.

and they have judged the people at all times; and it hath come to pass, every great matter they bring in unto thee, and every small matter they judge themselves; and lighten it from off thyself, and they have borne with thee.

23 А ко направиш това и ако Бог така ти заповяда, тогава ще можеш да издържиш; и целият този народ ще се разотиде доволен.

If thou dost this thing, and God hath commanded thee, then thou hast been able to stand, and all this people also goeth in unto its place in peace.'

24 И Моисей послуша думите на тъста си и направи всичко, което му каза.

And Moses hearkeneth to the voice of his father-in-law, and doth all that he said,

25 М оисей избра способни мъже измежду целия Израел, които постави началници над народа - хилядници, стотници, петдесетници и десетници.

and Moses chooseth men of ability out of all Israel, and maketh them chiefs over the people, heads of thousands, heads of hundreds, heads of fifties, and heads of tens,

26 Т е съдеха народа по всяко време; трудните дела донасяха на Моисей, а за всяко малко дело отсъждаха сами.

and they have judged the people at all times; the hard matter they bring in unto Moses, and every small matter they judge themselves.

27 С лед това Моисей изпрати тъста си и той се върна в своята земя.

And Moses sendeth his father-in-law away, and he goeth away unto his own land.
