1 А като видя народът, че Моисей се забави да слезе от планината, народът се събра срещу Аарон и му каза: Стани, направи ни богове, които да ходят пред нас; защото този Моисей, човекът, който ни изведе от Египетската земя, не знаем какво му стана.

And the people see that Moses is delaying to come down from the mount, and the people assemble against Aaron, and say unto him, `Rise, make for us gods who go before us, for this Moses -- the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt -- we have not known what hath happened to him.'

2 А арон им каза: Извадете златните обици, които са на ушите на жените ви, на синовете ви и на дъщерите ви, и ми ги донесете.

And Aaron saith unto them, `Break off the rings of gold which in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring in unto me;'

3 И така, целият народ извади златните обици, които бяха на ушите им, и ги донесоха на Аарон.

and all the people themselves break off the rings of gold which in their ears, and bring in unto Aaron,

4 А той, като ги взе от ръцете им, изля от тях фигура на теле и я издяла с длето; и те казаха: Тези са боговете ти, о, Израелю, които те изведоха от Египетската земя.

and he receiveth from their hand, and doth fashion it with a graving tool, and doth make it a molten calf, and they say, `These thy gods, O Israel, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.'

5 С лед като видя това, Аарон издигна жертвеник пред него; и Аарон прогласи: Утре ще бъде празник на Господа.

And Aaron seeth, and buildeth an altar before it, and Aaron calleth, and saith, `A festival to Jehovah -- to-morrow;'

6 А на следващия ден, като станаха рано, пожертваха всеизгаряне и принесоха мирни приноси; после народът седна да яде и да пие, и стана да играе.

and they rise early on the morrow, and cause burnt-offerings to ascend, and bring nigh peace-offerings; and the people sit down to eat and to drink, and rise up to play.

7 Т огава Господ каза на Моисей: Иди, слез, защото се разврати твоят народ, който си извел от Египетската земя.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go, descend, for thy people whom thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt hath done corruptly,

8 С коро се отклониха от пътя, в който съм им заповядал да ходят; изляха си теле от злато, поклониха му се, пожертваха му и казаха: Тези са боговете ти, о, Израелю, които те изведоха от Египетската земя.

they have turned aside hastily from the way that I have commanded them; they have made for themselves a molten calf, and bow themselves to it, and sacrifice to it, and say, These thy gods, O Israel, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.'

9 Г оспод каза още на Моисей: Видях този народ и, ето, твърдоглав народ са;

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `I have seen this people, and lo, it a stiff-necked people;

10 и така, сега Ме остави, за да пламне гневът Ми против тях и да ги изтребя; а от тебе ще направя велик народ.

and now, let Me alone, and My anger doth burn against them, and I consume them, and I make thee become a great nation.'

11 Т огава Моисей се помоли на Йехова, своя Бог: Господи, защо пламва гневът Ти против народа Ти, който си извел от Египетската земя с голяма сила и мощна ръка?

And Moses appeaseth the face of Jehovah his God, and saith, `Why, O Jehovah, doth Thine anger burn against Thy people, whom Thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand?

12 З ащо да говорят египтяните: За зло ги изведе, за да ги измори в планините и да ги изтреби от лицето на земята? Отвърни се от разпаления Си гняв и се откажи от това зло, което възнамеряваш против народа Си.

why do the Egyptians speak, saying, For evil He brought them out to slay them among mountains, and to consume them from off the face of the ground? turn back from the heat of Thine anger, and repent of the evil against Thy people.

13 С помнѝ си за слугите Си Авраам, Исаак и Израел, на които си се клел в Себе Си, като си им казал: Ще размножа потомството ви като небесните звезди и тази цялата земя, за която говорих, ще дам на потомството ви и те ще я наследят завинаги.

`Be mindful of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, Thy servants, to whom Thou hast sworn by Thyself, and unto whom Thou speakest: I multiply your seed as stars of the heavens, and all this land, as I have said, I give to your seed, and they have inherited to the age;'

14 Т огава Господ се въздържа от злото, което беше казал, че ще направи на народа Си.

and Jehovah repenteth of the evil which He hath spoken of doing to His people.

15 И така, Моисей се обърна и слезе от планината с двете плочи на свидетелството в ръцете си - плочи, написани и от двете страни; от едната и от другата страна бяха написани.

And Moses turneth, and goeth down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony in his hand, tables written on both their sides, on this and on that they written;

16 П лочите бяха Божие дело; и написаното беше Божие писание, начертано на плочите.

and the tables are the work of God, and the writing is the writing of God, graven on the tables.

17 А когато Исус Навин чу гласа на народа, който викаше, каза на Моисей: Боен глас има в стана.

And Joshua heareth the voice of the people in their shouting, and saith unto Moses, `A noise of battle in the camp!'

18 А той отговори: Това не е вик за победа, нито вик за поражение; а пеене чувам аз.

and he saith, `It is not the voice of the crying of might, nor is it the voice of the crying of weakness -- a voice of singing I am hearing.'

19 И като се приближи до стана, видя телето и игрите; и пламна Моисеевият гняв, така че хвърли плочите от ръцете си и ги строши под планината.

And it cometh to pass, when he hath drawn near unto the camp, that he seeth the calf, and the dancing, and the anger of Moses burneth, and he casteth out of his hands the tables, and breaketh them under the mount;

20 Т огава взе телето, което бяха направили, изгори го в огън и като го стри на ситен прах, разпръсна праха по водата и накара Израелевите синове да я изпият.

and he taketh the calf which they have made, and burneth with fire, and grindeth until small, and scattereth on the face of the waters, and causeth the sons of Israel to drink.

21 П осле Моисей каза на Аарон: Какво ти стори този народ, че си им навлякъл голям грях?

And Moses saith unto Aaron, `What hath this people done to thee, that thou hast brought in upon it a great sin?'

22 А арон отвърна: Да не пламне гневът на господаря ми; ти знаеш, че народът упорства в злото.

and Aaron saith, `Let not the anger of my lord burn; thou -- thou hast known the people that it in evil;

23 П онеже ми казаха: Направи ни богове, които да ходят пред нас; защото този Моисей, човекът, който ни изведе от Египетската земя, не знаем какво му стана.

and they say to me, Make for us gods, who go before us, for this Moses -- the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt -- we have not known what hath happened to him;

24 И аз им казах: Който има злато, нека си го извади; и така те ми го дадоха. Тогава го хвърлих в огъня; и направих това теле.

and I say to them, Whoso hath gold, let them break off, and they give to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf cometh out.'

25 А Моисей, като видя, че народът беше съблечен (защото Аарон ги беше съблякъл за срам между неприятелите им),

And Moses seeth the people that it unbridled, for Aaron hath made it unbridled for contempt among its withstanders,

26 М оисей застана при входа на стана и каза: Който е откъм Господа, нека дойде при мен. И при него се събраха всички Левийци.

and Moses standeth in the gate of the camp, and saith, `Who for Jehovah? -- unto me!' and all the sons of Levi are gathered unto him;

27 Т ой им каза: Така говори Господ, Израелевият Бог: Препашете всички меча на бедрото си, минете насам-натам от врата на врата през стана и убийте всеки брат си и всеки другаря си, и всеки ближния си.

and he saith to them, `Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Put each his sword by his thigh, pass over and turn back from gate to gate through the camp, and slay each his brother, and each his friend, and each his relation.'

28 И Левийците сториха според Моисеевата дума; и в този ден от народа паднаха около три хиляди мъже.

And the sons of Levi do according to the word of Moses, and there fall of the people on that day about three thousand men,

29 З ащото Моисей беше казал: Посветете себе си днес на Господа, като се вдигнете всеки против сина си и против брат си, за да ви бъде дадено днес благословение.

and Moses saith, `Consecrate your hand to-day to Jehovah, for a man against his son, and against his brother, so as to bring on you to-day a blessing.'

30 А на следващия ден Моисей каза на народа: Вие сте извършили голям грях; но сега ще се изкача към Господа, дано да мога да Го умилостивя за греха ви.

And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that Moses saith unto the people, `Ye -- ye have sinned a great sin, and now I go up unto Jehovah, if so be I atone for your sin.'

31 Т огава Моисей се върна при Господа и каза: Уви! Този народ извърши голям грях, че си направиха богове от злато.

And Moses turneth back unto Jehovah, and saith, `Oh this people hath sinned a great sin, that they make to themselves a god of gold;

32 Н о сега, ако искаш, прости греха им; но ако не, моля Ти се, заличи мен от книгата, която си написал.

and now, if Thou takest away their sin -- and if not -- blot me, I pray thee, out of Thy book which Thou hast written.'

33 Н о Господ отговори на Моисей: Който е съгрешил против Мене, него ще залича от книгата Си.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Whoso hath sinned against Me -- I blot him out of My book;

34 А ти иди сега, води народа на мястото, за което съм ти говорил; ето, ангелът Ми ще ходи пред теб; обаче в деня, когато ги посетя, ще въздам върху тях наказанието за греха им.

and now, go, lead the people whithersoever I have spoken to thee of; lo, My messenger goeth before thee, and in the day of my charging -- then I have charged upon them their sin.'

35 Т ака Господ порази народа затова, че направиха телето, което Аарон изработи.

And Jehovah plagueth the people, because they made the calf which Aaron made.
