1 П авел, с Божията воля апостол на Исус Христос, и брат Тимотей, до Божията църква, която е в Коринт, и до всички светии, които са по цяла Ахая:

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Timotheus the brother, to the assembly of God that is in Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia:

2 Б лагодат и мир да бъде на вас от Бога, нашия Отец, и Господ Исус Христос.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!

3 Б лагословен Бог и Отец на нашия Господ Исус Христос, Отец на милостивите и Бог на всяка утеха,

Blessed God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of the mercies, and God of all comfort,

4 К ойто ни утешава във всяка наша скръб, за да можем и ние да утешаваме тези, които се намират в каквато и да била скръб, с утехата, с която и ние се утешаваме от Бога.

who is comforting us in all our tribulation, for our being able to comfort those in any tribulation through the comfort with which we are comforted ourselves by God;

5 З ащото както изобилват в нас Христовите страдания, така и нашата утеха изобилва чрез Христос.

because, as the sufferings of the Christ do abound to us, so through the Christ doth abound also our comfort;

6 Н о ако ни наскърбяват, това е за вашата утеха и спасение, или ако ни утешават, това е за вашата утеха и спасение, която действа да устоявате в същите страдания, които понасяме и ние.

and whether we be in tribulation, for your comfort and salvation, that is wrought in the enduring of the same sufferings that we also suffer; whether we are comforted, for your comfort and salvation;

7 И надеждата ни за вас е твърда; понеже знаем, че както сте участници в страданията, така сте и в утехата.

and our hope stedfast for you, knowing that even as ye are partakers of the sufferings -- so also of the comfort.

8 З ащото желаем да знаете, братя, за скръбта, която ни сполетя в Азия, - бяхме под твърде голямо напрежение, свръх силите ни, така че дори се отчаяхме за живота си;

For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, of our tribulation that happened to us in Asia, that we were exceedingly burdened above power, so that we despaired even of life;

9 д аже ние самите бяхме приели в себе си смъртна присъда, за да не уповаваме на себе си, но на Бога, Който възкресява мъртвите.

but we ourselves in ourselves the sentence of the death have had, that we may not be trusting on ourselves, but on God, who is raising the dead,

10 И Той ни избави от толкова близка смърт и още избавя, и се надяваме на Него, че пак ще ни избави,

who out of so great a death did deliver us, and doth deliver, in whom we have hoped that even yet He will deliver;

11 к ато ни съдействате и вие чрез молитва, така че, поради дадената ни чрез молитвите на мнозина благодат, да благодарят мнозина за нас. Отлагане на посещението в Коринт

ye working together also for us by your supplication, that the gift through many persons to us, through many may be thankfully acknowledged for us.

12 З ащото нашата похвала е тази, свидетелството на нашата съвест, че ние живяхме на света, а най-много между вас, със святост и искреност пред Бога, не с плътска мъдрост, а с Божия благодат.

For our glorying is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we did conduct ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you;

13 З ащото не ви пишем друго, освен това, което четете, а и разбирате, и което се надявам, че и докрай ще разбирате

for no other things do we write to you, but what ye either do read or also acknowledge, and I hope that also unto the end ye shall acknowledge,

14 ( както и отчасти сте разбрали), че сме похвала за вас, както и вие за нас, в деня на нашия Господ Исус.

according as also ye did acknowledge us in part, that your glory we are, even as also ye ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus;

15 С тази увереност възнамерявах да дойда първо при вас, за да имате двояка полза,

and in this confidence I was purposing to come unto you before, that a second favour ye might have,

16 к ато мина през вас за Македония; а от Македония да дойда пак при вас и тогава вие да ме изпратите за Юдея.

and through you to pass to Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come unto you, and by you to be sent forward to Judea.

17 Д обре, когато имах това намерение, лекомислено ли съм постъпил? Или намерението ми е било плътско намерение, че да казвам: Да, да, и: Не,не?

This, therefore, counselling, did I then use the lightness; or the things that I counsel, according to the flesh do I counsel, that it may be with me Yes, yes, and No, no?

18 З аради Божията вярност проповядването ми към вас не е било "Да" и "Не"!

and God faithful, that our word unto you became not Yes and No,

19 З ащото Божият Син, Исус Христос, Който беше проповядван помежду ви от нас (от мене, Сила и Тимотей), не стана "Да" и "Не", но в Него стана "Да";

for the Son of God, Jesus Christ, among you through us having been preached -- through me and Silvanus and Timotheus -- did not become Yes and No, but in him it hath become Yes;

20 п онеже Божиите обещания, колкото много и да са те, в Него са "Да"; затова и чрез Него е "Амин", за Божията слава чрез нас.

for as many as promises of God, in him the Yes, and in him the Amen, for glory to God through us;

21 А Този, Който ни утвърждава заедно с вас в Христос и Който ни е помазал, е Бог,

and He who is confirming you with us into Christ, and did anoint us, God,

22 К ойто ни е запечатал и е дал в сърцата ни Духа в залог.

who also sealed us, and gave the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

23 Н о аз призовавам Бога за свидетел на моята душа, че за да ви пощадя, въздържах се да дойда в Коринт;

And I for a witness on God do call upon my soul, that sparing you, I came not yet to Corinth;

24 з ащото не сме господари над вярата ви, а сме помощници на вашата радост; понеже колкото за вярата, вие стоите твърди.

not that we are lords over your faith, but we are workers together with your joy, for by the faith ye stand.
