1 И така, филистимците събраха всичките си войски в Афек; а израелтяните разположиха стана си при извора, който е в Езраел.

And the Philistines gather all their camps to Aphek, and the Israelites are encamping at a fountain which in Jezreel,

2 И филистимските началници вървяха със стотниците си и с хилядите си войници; а Давид и мъжете му идваха отзад с Анхус.

and the princes of the Philistines are passing on by hundreds, and by thousands, and David and his men are passing on in the rear with Achish.

3 Т огава филистимските военачалници казаха: Какво търсят тук тези евреи? Анхус им отговори: Това не е ли Давид, слугата на Израелевия цар Саул, който е бил с мене през тези дни и години и аз не съм открил в него никаква грешка, откакто е преминал на моя страна до днес?

And the heads of the Philistines say, `What these Hebrews?' and Achish saith unto the heads of the Philistines, `Is not this David servant of Saul king of Israel, who hath been with me these days or these years, and I have not found in him anything from the day of his falling away till this day.'

4 О баче филистимските военачалници му се разгневиха и му казаха: Отпрати този човек и нека се върне на мястото, което си му определил, и да не влиза с нас в битката, да не би в боя да ни стане противник. Защото с какво би умилостивил този човек господаря си, ако не с главите на тези мъже?

And the heads of the Philistines are wroth against him, and the heads of the Philistines say to him, `Send back the man, and he doth turn back unto his place whither thou hast appointed him, and doth not go down with us into battle, and is not to us for an adversary in battle; and wherewith doth this one reconcile himself unto his lord -- is it not with the heads of those men?'

5 Т ой не е ли Давид, за когото пееха ответно, когато танцуваха хоро: Саул порази хиляди, а Давид - десетки хиляди!

Is not this David, of whom they answer in choruses, saying, Saul hath smitten among his thousands, and David among his myriads?'

6 Т огава Анхус повика Давид и му каза: В името на живия Господ, ти си бил честен и излизането ти и влизането ти с мене във войската е угодно пред очите ми, тъй като не съм открил зло в теб от деня, откакто дойде при мене до днес; началниците обаче не са добре разположени към теб.

And Achish calleth unto David, and saith unto him, `Jehovah liveth, surely thou upright, and good in mine eyes is thy going out, and thy coming in, with me in the camp, for I have not found in thee evil from the day of thy coming in unto me till this day; and in the eyes of the princes thou art not good;

7 И така, върни се сега и си иди с мир, да не би да причиниш недоволство у филистимските началници.

and now, turn back, and go in peace, and thou dost do no evil in the eyes of the princes of the Philistines.'

8 А Давид запита Анхус: Но какво съм сторил и какво си открил ти в слугата си, откакто съм пред тебе до днес, за да не мога да ида да воювам против неприятелите на господаря си, царя?

And David saith unto Achish, `But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant from the day that I have been before thee till this day -- that I go not in and have fought against the enemies of my lord the king?'

9 А нхус отговори на Давид: Зная, че си угоден пред очите ми като Божий ангел. Все пак обаче филистимските военачалници казаха: Този да не влиза с нас в битката.

And Achish answereth and saith unto David, `I have known that thou good in mine eyes as a messenger of God; only, the princes of the Philistines have said, He doth not go up with us into battle;

10 И така, утре стани рано със слугите на господаря си, които са дошли с теб; и като станете утре рано, щом се развидели, си идете.

and now, rise thou early in the morning, and the servants of thy lord who have come with thee, when ye have risen early in the morning, and have light, then go ye.'

11 Н а сутринта Давид и мъжете му станаха рано, за да си тръгнат и да се върнат във филистимската земя. А филистимците отидоха в Езраел.

And David riseth early, he and his men, to go in the morning, to turn back unto the land of the Philistines, and the Philistines have gone up to Jezreel.
