1 Е то законите, които ще представиш пред тях.

`And these the judgments which thou dost set before them:

2 А ко купиш роб евреин, шест години ще работи, а в седмата ще излезе свободен, без откуп.

`When thou buyest a Hebrew servant -- six years he doth serve, and in the seventh he goeth out as a freeman for nought;

3 А ко е дошъл сам, сам да си излезе; ако е имал жена, то и жена му да излезе с него.

if by himself he cometh in, by himself he goeth out; if he owner of a wife, then his wife hath gone out with him;

4 А ко господарят му му е дал жена и тя му е родила синове или дъщери, то жената и децата ѝ ще бъдат на господаря ѝ, а той ще излезе сам.

if his lord give to him a wife, and she hath borne to him sons or daughters -- the wife and her children are her lord's, and he goeth out by himself.

5 Н о ако робът изрично каже: Обичам господаря си, жена си и децата си, не желая да изляза свободен,

`And if the servant really say: I have loved my lord, my wife, and my sons -- I do not go out free;

6 т огава господарят му ще го заведе пред съдиите и като го отведе при градската порта или при стълба на градската порта, господарят му ще му промуши ухото с шило; и той ще му бъде роб завинаги.

then hath his lord brought him nigh unto God, and hath brought him nigh unto the door, or unto the side-post, and his lord hath bored his ear with an awl, and he hath served him -- to the age.

7 А ко някой продаде дъщеря си за робиня, тя няма да излезе, както излизат робите.

`And when a man selleth his daughter for a handmaid, she doth not go out according to the going out of the men-servants;

8 А ко не се хареса на господаря си, който я е определил за себе си, то нека я остави да бъде откупена; той няма право да я продаде на чужденци, тъй като я е отхвърлил.

if evil in the eyes of her lord, so that he hath not betrothed her, then he hath let her be ransomed; to a strange people he hath not power to sell her, in his dealing treacherously with her.

9 Н о ако я е определил за сина си, то нека ѝ дари правата на дъщерите.

`And if to his son he betroth her, according to the right of daughters he doth to her.

10 А ко си вземе още една жена, да не лиши онази от храната ѝ, от дрехите ѝ и от съпружеско съжителство с нея.

`If another he take for him, her food, her covering, and her habitation, he doth not withdraw;

11 А ако не ѝ изпълни тези три условия, тогава тя нека си излезе даром, без откуп. Закон срещу насилието

and if these three he do not to her, then she hath gone out for nought, without money.

12 К ойто удари човек смъртоносно, непременно да бъде предаден на смърт.

`He who smiteth a man so that he hath died, is certainly put to death;

13 Н о ако това стане неволно и Бог е допуснал това, тогава Аз ще определя прибежищно място.

as to him who hath not laid wait, and God hath brought to his hand, I have even set for thee a place whither he doth flee.

14 А ко обаче някой от озлобление убие ближния си коварно, то и от жертвеника Ми ще го извадиш, за да го убиеш.

`And when a man doth presume against his neighbour to slay him with subtilty, from Mine altar thou dost take him to die.

15 К ойто удари баща си или майка си, да бъде убит.

`And he who smiteth his father or his mother is certainly put to death.

16 К ойто открадне човек и го продаде или откраднатият бъде открит при него, той да бъде убит.

`And he who stealeth a man, and hath sold him, and he hath been found in his hand, is certainly put to death.

17 К ойто кълне баща си или майка си, да бъде убит.

`And he who is reviling his father or his mother is certainly put to death.

18 К огато се карат двама души, ако единият удари другия с камък или с юмрук и той не умре, а легне от раните си;

`And when men contend, and a man hath smitten his neighbour with a stone, or with the fist, and he die not, but hath fallen on the bed;

19 и ако после се привдигне и излиза, подпирайки се с тояга, тогава онзи, който го е ударил, да не бъде наказан - само ще плати за денгубата му и ще се погрижи раненият да се излекува.

if he rise, and hath gone up and down without on his staff, then hath the smiter been acquitted; only his cessation he giveth, and he is thoroughly healed.

20 А ко някой удари роба си или робинята си с тояга, така че да умре под ръката му, да бъде наказан.

`And when a man smiteth his man-servant or his handmaid, with a rod, and he hath died under his hand -- he is certainly avenged;

21 О баче ако удареният преживее един-два дни, тогава да не се наказва, понеже той е негова собственост.

only if he remain a day, or two days, he is not avenged, for he his money.

22 А ко мъже се бият и ударят бременна жена, така че да пометне, а не последва друга повреда, тогава онзи, който я е ударил, да бъде глобен, както мъжът ѝ би му наложил, и да плати, както определят съдиите.

`And when men strive, and have smitten a pregnant woman, and her children have come out, and there is no mischief, he is certainly fined, as the husband of the woman doth lay upon him, and he hath given through the judges;

23 Н о ако последва повреда, тогава да отсъдиш живот за живот,

and if there is mischief, then thou hast given life for life,

24 о ко за око, зъб за зъб, ръка за ръка, крак за крак,

eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

25 и згаряне за изгаряне, рана за рана, удар за удар.

burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

26 А ко някой удари роба си или робинята си в окото и го повреди, заради окото му ще го освободи.

`And when a man smiteth the eye of his man-servant, or the eye of his handmaid, and hath destroyed it, as a freeman he doth send him away for his eye;

27 И ако избие някой зъб на роба си или някой зъб на робинята си, ще го освободи заради зъба му.

and if a tooth of his man-servant or a tooth of his handmaid he knock out, as a freeman he doth send him away for his tooth.

28 А ко вол прободе мъж или жена, така че да умре, тогава волът да бъде убит с камъни и месото му да не се яде; а стопанинът на вола ще бъде оправдан.

`And when an ox doth gore man or woman, and they have died, the ox is certainly stoned, and his flesh is not eaten, and the owner of the ox acquitted;

29 Н о ако волът е бил бодлив отнапред и това е било известно на стопанина му, но той не го е държал вързан, а е убил мъж или жена, то волът да бъде убит с камъни, а също и стопанинът му трябва да умре.

and if the ox is accustomed to gore heretofore, and it hath been testified to its owner, and he doth not watch it, and it hath put to death a man or woman, the ox is stoned, and its owner also is put to death.

30 О баче, ако му бъде определен откуп, то за избавление на живота си нека даде, колкото му бъде определено.

`If atonement is laid upon him, then he hath given the ransom of his life, according to all that is laid upon him;

31 А ко волът прободе син или дъщеря на някого, да се издаде същата присъда.

whether it gore a son or gore a daughter, according to this judgment it is done to him.

32 Н о ако волът прободе роб или робиня, стопанинът нека плати на господаря им тридесет сребърни сикъла и нека волът бъде убит с камъни.

`If the ox gore a man-servant or a handmaid, thirty silver shekels he doth give to their lord, and the ox is stoned.

33 А ко някой изкопае яма или изкопае яма, без да я покрие, и в нея падне вол или осел,

`And when a man doth open a pit, or when a man doth dig a pit, and doth not cover it, and an ox or ass hath fallen thither, --

34 п ритежателят на ямата ще заплати повредата; ще даде пари на стопанина им, а трупът ще бъде негов.

the owner of the pit doth repay, money he doth give back to its owner, and the dead is his.

35 А ко волът на някого прободе вола на друг, така че вторият вол умре, тогава да продадат живия вол и да си разделят парите от продажбата му, и трупа също да си разделят.

`And when a man's ox doth smite the ox of his neighbour, and it hath died, then they have sold the living ox, and halved its money, and also the dead one they do halve;

36 Н о ако се е знаело отнапред, че волът е бил бодлив, и стопанинът му не го е държал вързан, то той да възстанови жив вол за вол, а трупът ще бъде негов.

or, it hath been known that the ox is accustomed to gore heretofore, and its owner doth not watch it, he certainly repayeth ox for ox, and the dead is his.
