1 В идя се добре на Дарий да постави над царството сто и двадесет сатрапи, които да бъдат по цялото царство,

It hath been good before Darius, and he hath established over the kingdom satraps -- a hundred and twenty -- that they may be throughout the whole kingdom,

2 и над тях - трима князе, един от които беше Даниил, за да дават тези сатрапи сметка на тях и така царят да не губи.

and higher than they three presidents, of whom Daniel first, that these satraps may give to them an account, and the king have no loss.

3 В това време този Даниил се отличаваше от другите князе и сатрапите, защото в него имаше превъзходен дух; и царят намисли да го постави над цялото царство.

Then this Daniel hath been overseer over the presidents and satraps, because that an excellent spirit in him, and the king hath thought to establish him over the whole kingdom.

4 Т огава князете и сатрапите се стараеха да намерят причина против Даниил относно делата на царството; но не можаха да намерят никаква причина или вина, защото той беше верен и в него не бе намерена никаква погрешка или вина.

Then the presidents and satraps have been seeking to find a cause of complaint against Daniel concerning the kingdom, and any cause of complaint and corruption they are not able to find, because that he faithful, and any error and corruption have not been found in him.

5 И така, тези хора казаха: Няма да намерим никаква причина против този Даниил, освен ако не открием нещо относно закона на неговия Бог.

Then these men are saying, `We do not find against this Daniel any cause of complaint, except we have found against him in the law of his God.'

6 И така, тези князе и сатрапи се събраха при царя и му казаха така: Царю Дарий, да си жив довека!

Then these presidents and satraps have assembled near the king, and thus they are saying to him: `O king Darius, to the ages live!

7 В сички князе на царството, наместниците и сатрапите, съветниците и управителите, като се съветваха, решиха да поискат от царя да издаде указ и да обяви строга забрана, че който, до тридесет дни, би отправил някаква молба до който и да било бог или човек освен до тебе, царю, той да бъде хвърлен в рова на лъвовете.

Taken counsel have all the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects, and the satraps, the counsellors, and the governors, to establish a royal statute, and to strengthen an interdict, that any who seeketh a petition from any god and man until thirty days, save of thee, O king, is cast into a den of lions.

8 С ега, царю, утвърди забраната и подпиши писмената ѝ форма, за да не се измени според закона на мидяните и персите, който не се изменя.

Now, O king, thou dost establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it is not to be changed, as a law of Media and Persia, that doth not pass away.'

9 З атова цар Дарий подписа писмената забрана.

Therefore king Darius hath signed the writing and interdict.

10 А Даниил, щом научи, че била подписана писмената забрана, влезе у дома си и като държеше прозорците на стаята си отворени към Йерусалим, падаше на колената си три пъти на ден, молещ се и благодарящ пред своя Бог, както правеше и преди това.

And Daniel, when he hath known that the writing is signed, hath gone up to his house, and the window being opened for him, in his upper chamber, over-against Jerusalem, three times in a day he is kneeling on his knees, and praying, and confessing before his God, because that he was doing before this.

11 Т огава онези хора се събраха и откриха, че Даниил отправяше молба и се молеше пред своя Бог.

Then these men have assembled, and found Daniel praying and entreating grace before his God;

12 З атова се приближиха и говориха пред царя за царската забрана, като казаха: Не подписа ли ти забрана, че всеки човек, който до тридесет дни би отправил молба до който и да било бог или човек освен до тебе, царю, ще бъде хвърлен в рова на лъвовете? Царят отговори: Това е вярно според закона на мидяните и персите, който не се изменя.

then they have come near, yea, they are saying before the king concerning the king's interdict: `Hast thou not signed an interdict, that any man who seeketh from any god and man until thirty days, save of thee, O king, is cast into a den of lions?' Answered hath the king, and said, `The thing certain as a law of Media and Persia, that doth not pass away.'

13 Т огава те казаха пред царя: Онзи Даниил, който е от пленените юдеи, не зачита нито тебе, царю, нито подписаната от тебе забрана, а принася молбата си три пъти на ден.

Then they have answered, yea, they are saying before the king, that, `Daniel, who of the sons of the Removed of Judah, hath not placed on thee, O king, regard, nor on the interdict that thou hast signed, and three times in a day he is seeking his petition.'

14 Т огава царят, като чу тези думи, много се наскърби и взе присърце да отърве Даниил; и се трудеше до залязването на слънцето да го избави.

Then the king, when he hath heard the matter, is greatly displeased at himself, and on Daniel he hath set the heart to deliver him, and till the going up of the sun he was arranging to deliver him.

15 Т огава онези хора се събраха при царя и му казаха: Знай, царю, че е закон на мидяните и персите, че никаква забрана или постановление, което царят утвърди, да не се изменя.

Then these men have assembled near the king, and are saying to the king, `know, O king, that the law of Media and Persia: That any interdict and statute that the king doth establish is not to be changed.'

16 Т огава царят заповяда и докараха Даниил, и го хвърлиха в рова на лъвовете. А царят проговори на Даниил: Твоят Бог, на Когото ти служиш непрестанно, Той ще те отърве.

Then the king hath said, and they have brought Daniel, and have cast into a den of lions. The king hath answered and said to Daniel, `Thy God, whom thou art serving continually, Himself doth deliver thee.'

17 П осле, като донесоха камък и го поставиха върху устието на рова, царят го запечати със своя печат и с печата на големците си, за да не се измени никакво намерение относно Даниил.

And a stone hath been brought and placed at the mouth of the den, and the king hath sealed it with his signet, and with the signet of his great men, that the purpose be not changed concerning Daniel.

18 Т огава царят отиде в палата си и пренощува гладен; нито остави да донесат пред него музикални инструменти; и сънят побегна от него.

Then hath the king gone to his palace, and he hath passed the night fasting, and dahavan have not been brought up before him, and his sleep hath fled off him.

19 Н а сутринта царят стана много рано и побърза да отиде при рова на лъвовете.

Then doth the king rise in the early morning, at the light, and in haste to the den of lions he hath gone;

20 И като се приближи до рова, извика с плачевен глас към Даниил. Царят проговори на Даниил: Данииле, служителю на живия Бог, твоят Бог, на Когото ти служиш непрестанно, можа ли да те отърве от лъвовете?

and at his coming near to the den, to Daniel, with a grieved voice, he crieth. The king hath answered and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, thy God, whom thou art serving continually, is He able to deliver thee from the lions?'

21 Т огава Даниил отвърна на царя: Царю, да си жив довека!

Then Daniel hath spoken with the king: `O king, to the ages live:

22 М оят Бог прати ангела Си да запуши устата на лъвовете и те не ми навредиха, защото се оказах невинен пред Него; също и пред тебе, царю, не съм извършил никакво прегрешение.

my God hath sent His messenger, and hath shut the lions' mouths, and they have not injured me: because that before Him purity hath been found in me; and also before thee, O king, injury I have not done.'

23 Т огава царят се зарадва много и заповяда да извадят Даниил от рова. И когато Даниил беше изваден от рова, никаква повреда не бе открита у него, защото беше уповал на своя Бог.

Then was the king very glad for him, and he hath commanded Daniel to be taken up out of the den, and Daniel hath been taken up out of the den, and no injury hath been found in him, because he hath believed in his God.

24 Т огава по заповед на царя докараха онези хора, които бяха наклеветили Даниил, и хвърлиха тях, децата и жените им в рова на лъвовете; и преди да стигнат до дъното на рова, лъвовете ги нападнаха и счупиха всичките им кости.

And the king hath said, and they have brought those men who had accused Daniel, and to the den of lions they have cast them, they, their sons, and their wives; and they have not come to the lower part of the den till that the lions have power over them, and all their bones they have broken small.

25 Т огава цар Дарий писа до всички племена, народи и езици, които живеят по целия свят: Мир да се умножи на вас!

Then Darius the king hath written to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who are dwelling in all the land: `Your peace be great!

26 И здавам указ - в цялата държава, над която царувам, да треперят хората и да се боят пред Данииловия Бог; защото Той е живият Бог, Който е утвърден довека, и Неговото царство е царство, което няма да се наруши, и властта Му ще трае до край.

From before me is made a decree, that in every dominion of my kingdom they are trembling and fearing before the God of Daniel, for He the living God, and abiding to the ages, and His kingdom that which not destroyed, and His dominion unto the end.

27 Т ой избавя и отървава, и върши знамения и чудеса на небесата и на земята; Той е, Който отърва Даниил от силата на лъвовете.

A deliverer, and rescuer, and doer of signs and wonders in the heavens and in earth He who hath delivered Daniel from the paw of the lions.'

28 И така, този Даниил благоденстваше през царуването на Дарий и през царуването на персиеца Кир.

And this Daniel hath prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
