1 С лед това на двадесет и четвъртия ден от същия месец, когато израелтяните бяха събрани с пост, облечени с вретища и с пръст на себе си,

And in the twenty and fourth day of this month have the sons of Israel been gathered, with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth upon them;

2 И зраелевият род отдели себе си от всички чужденци; и застанаха и изповядаха своите грехове и беззаконията на бащите си.

and the seed of Israel are separated from all sons of a stranger, and stand and confess concerning their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers,

3 П рез една четвърт от деня те ставаха на мястото си и четяха от книгата на закона на Господа, своя Бог, а през друга четвърт се изповядваха и се кланяха на Господа, своя Бог.

and rise up on their station, and read in the book of the law of Jehovah their God a fourth of the day, and a fourth they are confessing and bowing themselves to Jehovah their God.

4 Т огава някои от левитите - Исус, Ваний, Кадмиил, Севания, Вуний, Серевия, Ваний и Хананий - застанаха на платформата и извикаха със силен глас към Господа, своя Бог.

And there stand up on the ascent, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, Chenani, and they cry with a loud voice unto Jehovah their God.

5 П осле левитите Исус, Кадмиил, Ваний, Асавния, Серевия, Одия, Севания и Петайя казаха: Станете и благославяйте Господа, вашия Бог, отвека и довека; и да благославят, Боже, Твоето славно име, което е възвисено по-горе от всяко благословение и хвала.

And the Levites say, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, Pethahiah, `Rise, bless Jehovah your God, from the age unto the age, and they bless the name of Thine honour that exalted above all blessing and praise.

6 Т и си Господ, само Ти; Ти си направил небето, небето на небесата и цялото им множество, земята и всичко, което е на нея, моретата и всичко, което е в тях, и Ти оживотворяваш всичко това; и на Тебе се кланят небесните войнства.

Thou He, O Jehovah, Thyself -- Thou hast made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens, and all their host, the earth and all that on it, the seas and all that in them, and Thou art keeping all of them alive, and the host of the heavens to Thee are bowing themselves.

7 Т и си Господ Бог, Който си избрал Аврам, извел си го от Ур Халдейски и си му дал име Авраам;

`Thou He, O Jehovah God, who didst fix on Abraham, and didst bring him out from Ur of the Chaldeans, and didst make his name Abraham,

8 и като си намерил сърцето му вярно пред Тебе, сключил си с него завет, че ще дадеш земята на ханаанците, хетите, аморейците, ферезейците, йевусейците и гергесейците - че ще я дадеш на потомството му; и си изпълнил думите Си, защото си праведен.

and didst find his heart stedfast before Thee, so as to make with him the covenant, to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give to his seed. `And Thou dost establish Thy words, for Thou righteous,

9 И Ти видя теглото на бащите ни в Египет и чу вика им при Червеното море.

and dost see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and their cry hast heard by the sea of Suph,

10 Т и показа знамения и чудеса над фараона, над всичките му слуги и над целия народ на земята му, понеже Ти позна, че гордо постъпваха против тях; и Ти си придоби име, както е известно днес.

and dost give signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land, for Thou hast known that they have acted proudly against them, and Thou makest to Thee a name as this day.

11 Т и раздели и морето пред тях и те преминаха по сухо сред морето; а гонителите им Ти хвърли в дълбочините - като камък в силните води.

And the sea Thou hast cleaved before them, and they pass over into the midst of the sea on the dry land, and their pursuers Thou hast cast into the depths, as a stone, into the strong waters.

12 П ри това денем Ти ги водѝ с облачен стълб, а нощем - с огнен стълб, за да им светиш по пътя, през който трябваше да минат.

And by a pillar of cloud Thou hast led them by day, and by a pillar of fire by night, to lighten to them the way in which they go.

13 С ъщо Ти слезе на Синайската планина и говорѝ с тях от небето, и им даде справедлив съд и закони на истината, и добри наредби и заповеди;

`And on mount Sinai Thou hast come down, even to speak with them from the heavens, and Thou dost give to them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commands.

14 и им направи позната святата Своя събота и им даде заповеди, наредби и закони чрез слугата Си Моисей.

And Thy holy sabbath Thou hast made known to them, and commands, and statutes, and law, Thou hast commanded for them, by the hand of Moses Thy servant;

15 Т и им даде и хляб от небето, когато бяха гладни, и им извади вода от скала, когато бяха жадни; и им заповяда да влязат, за да завладеят земята, за която се беше клел, че ще им я дадеш.

and bread from the heavens Thou hast given to them for their hunger, and water from a rock hast brought out to them for their thirst, and dost say to them to go in to possess the land that Thou hast lifted up Thy hand to give to them.

16 Н о те и бащите ни се възгордяха, закоравиха врата си и не послушаха Твоите заповеди;

`And they and our fathers have acted proudly, and harden their neck, and have not hearkened unto Thy commands,

17 т е отказаха да послушат и не си спомниха чудесата, които Ти извърши за тях; а закоравиха врата си и в бунта си определиха началник, за да се върнат в робството си. Но понеже си Бог, Който обичаш да прощаваш, милостив и жалостив, дълготърпелив и многомилостив, Ти не ги изостави.

yea, they refuse to hearken, and have not remembered Thy wonders that Thou hast done with them, and harden their neck and appoint a head, to turn back to their service, in their rebellion; and Thou a God of pardons, gracious, and merciful, long-suffering, and abundant in kindness, and hast not forsaken them.

18 Д аже когато си направиха лято теле и казаха: Ето твоя бог, който те изведе от Египет, и извършиха предизвикателства,

`Also, when they have made to themselves a molten calf, and say, this thy god that brought thee up out of Egypt, and do great despisings,

19 Т и пак в голямото Си милосърдие не ги остави в пустинята; облачният стълб не престана да бъде над тях денем, за да ги води по пътя, нито огненият стълб нощем, за да им свети по пътя, през който трябваше да минат.

and Thou, in Thine abundant mercies, hast not forsaken them in the wilderness -- the pillar of the cloud hath not turned aside from off them by day, to lead them in the way, and the pillar of the fire by night, to give light to them and the way in which they go.

20 И Ти им даде благия Си Дух, за да ги вразумява, и не отне манната Си от устата им, и им даде вода, когато бяха жадни.

`And Thy good Spirit Thou hast given, to cause them to act wisely; and Thy manna Thou hast not withheld from their mouth, and water Thou hast given to them for their thirst,

21 Д аже Ти ги хранѝ четиридесет години в пустинята и нищо не им липсваше; дрехите им не овехтяха и краката им не отекоха.

and forty years Thou hast nourished them in a wilderness; they have not lacked; their garments have not worn out, and their feet have not swelled.

22 П ри това Ти им даде царства и племена, които им раздели на дялове; и така завладяха земята на Сион и земята на есевонския цар, и земята на васанския цар Ог.

`And Thou givest to them kingdoms, and peoples, and dost apportion them to the corner, and they possess the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.

23 Т и умножи синовете им като небесните звезди и ги заведе в земята, за която беше казал на бащите им да влязат в нея, за да я завладеят.

And their sons Thou hast multiplied as the stars of the heavens, and bringest them in unto the land that Thou hast said to their fathers to go in to possess.

24 И така, синовете им влязоха и завладяха земята; и Ти покори пред тях жителите на земята, ханаанците, и ги предаде в ръцете им с царете им и племената на земята, за да им сторят по волята си.

`And the sons come in, and possess the land, and Thou humblest before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and givest them into their hand, and their kings, and the peoples of the land, to do with them according to their pleasure.

25 И те превзеха укрепени градове и плодовита земя; и притежаваха къщи, пълни с всякакви блага, изкопани кладенци, лозя, маслини и множество плодовити дървета; така те ядоха и се наситиха, затлъстяха и се насладиха с Твоята голяма благост.

And they capture fenced cities, and fat ground, and possess houses full of all good, digged-wells, vineyards, and olive-yards, and fruit-trees in abundance, and they eat, and are satisfied, and become fat, and delight themselves in Thy great goodness.

26 Н о те не се покоряваха, надигаха се против Тебе, захвърляха Твоя закон зад гърбовете си и избиваха Твоите пророци, които заявяваха против тях, за да ги обърнат към Теб, и извършиха големи предизвикателства.

`And they are disobedient, and rebel against Thee, and cast Thy law behind their back, and Thy prophets they have slain, who testified against them, to bring them back unto Thee, and they do great despisings,

27 З атова Ти ги предаваше в ръката на угнетителите им, които ги притесняваха; а във време на притеснението им, като викаха към Тебе, Ти слушаше от небето и според голямото Си милосърдие им даваше избавители, които ги избавяха от ръката на враговете им.

and Thou givest them into the hand of their adversaries, and they distress them, and in the time of their distress they cry unto Thee, and Thou, from the heavens, dost hear, and, according to Thine abundant mercies, dost give to them saviours, and they save them out of the hand of their adversaries.

28 Н о като се успокояваха, те пак вършеха зло пред Тебе; затова Ти ги оставяше в ръката на неприятелите им, които ги и завладяваха; но пак, когато се обръщаха и викаха към Тебе, Ти ги слушаше от небето и много пъти ги избавяше според милосърдието Си.

`And when they have rest, they turn back to do evil before Thee, and Thou dost leave them in the hand of their enemies, and they rule over them; and they turn back, and call Thee, and Thou from the heavens dost hear, and dost deliver them, according to Thy mercies, many times,

29 Т и и заявяваше против тях, за да ги обърнеш към закона Си; но те се гордееха и не слушаха Твоите заповеди, а съгрешаваха против наредбите Ти (чрез които, ако ги изпълнява човек, ще живее) и обръщаха към Тебе гърба си, и закоравяваха врата си, и не слушаха.

and dost testify against them, to bring them back unto Thy law; and they -- they have acted proudly, and have not hearkened to Thy commands, and against Thy judgments have sinned, -- which man doth and hath lived in them -- and they give a refractory shoulder, and their neck have hardened, and have not hearkened.

30 В ъпреки това Ти много години ги търпеше и заявяваше против тях чрез Духа Си посредством пророците Си, но те не внимаваха; затова Ти ги предаде в ръката на племената на земите.

`And Thou drawest over them many years, and testifiest against them by Thy Spirit, by the hand of Thy prophets, and they have not given ear, and Thou dost give them into the hand of peoples of the lands,

31 О баче поради голямото Твое милосърдие не ги довърши, нито ги остави; защото си Бог щедър и милостив.

and in Thine abundant mercies Thou hast not made them a consumption, nor hast forsaken them; for a God, gracious and merciful, Thou.

32 И така, сега, Боже наш, велики, мощни и страшни Боже, Който пазиш завет и милост, да не се смята за малко пред Тебе цялото страдание, което е постигнало нас, царете ни, първенците ни, свещениците ни, пророците ни, бащите ни и целия Твой народ от времето на асирийските царе до днес.

`And now, O our God -- God, the great, the mighty, and the fearful, keeping the covenant and the kindness -- let not all the travail that hath found us be little before Thee, for our kings, for our heads, and for our priests, and for our prophets, and for our fathers, and for all Thy people, from the days of the kings of Asshur unto this day;

33 Н аистина Ти си справедлив във всичко, което ни е сполетяло; защото Ти си действал вярно, а ние сме постъпвали нечестиво.

and Thou righteous concerning all that hath come upon us, for truth Thou hast done, and we have done wickedly;

34 О ще царете ни, първенците ни, свещениците ни и бащите ни не са опазили закона Ти и не са внимавали в Твоите заповеди и заявления, с които си заявявал против тях.

and our kings, our heads, our priests, and our fathers, have not done Thy law, nor attended unto Thy commands, and to Thy testimonies, that Thou hast testified against them;

35 З ащото те през време на царството си и при голямата благост, която Ти им показа, и в широката и плодовита земя, която Ти постави пред тях, не Ти служиха, нито се отвърнаха от нечестивите си дела.

and they, in their kingdom, and in Thine abundant goodness, that Thou hast given to them, and in the land, the large and the fat, that Thou hast set before them, have not served Thee, nor turned back from their evil doings.

36 Е то, роби сме днес; и в земята, която Ти даде на бащите ни, за да ядат плода ѝ и благото ѝ, ето, роби сме в нея.

`Lo, we -- to-day -- servants, and the land that Thou hast given to our fathers, to eat its fruit and its good -- lo, we servants on it,

37 Т я дава голямо изобилие на царете, които Ти си поставил над нас поради греховете ни; и властват над телата ни и над добитъка ни според волята си; а ние сме в голямо притеснение. Завет/договор на Израел

and its increase it is multiplying to the kings whom Thou hast set over us in our sins; and over our bodies they are ruling, and over our cattle, according to their pleasure, and we in great distress.

38 П оради всичко това ние правим верен завет и го написваме; и първенците и свещениците ни го подпечатват.

And for all this we are making a stedfast covenant, and are writing, and over him who is sealed our heads, our Levites, our priests.'
