1 А асорският цар Явин, като чу за това, изпрати хора до мадонския цар Йовав, до симвронския цар, до ахсафския цар

And it cometh to pass when Jabin king of Hazor heareth, that he sendeth unto Jobab king of Madon, and unto the king of Shimron, and unto the king of Achshaph,

2 и до царете, които бяха на север в хълмистата страна, в пустинята Араба на юг от Хинерот, и в долината, и в Нафат-дор на запад,

and unto the kings who on the north in the hill-country, and in the plain south of Chinneroth, and in the low country, and in the elevations of Dor, on the west,

3 д о ханаанците, които бяха на изток и на запад, до аморейците, хетите, ферезейците и йевусейците в хълмистата страна, и до евейците под Ермон в земята Масфа.

the Canaanite on the east, and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon, in the land of Mizpeh --

4 И те заедно с всичките си войски - народ, многоброен като пясъка покрай морето, - излязоха с твърде много коне и колесници.

and they go out, they and all their camps with them, a people numerous, as the sand which on the sea-shore for multitude, and horse and charioteer very many;

5 С лед като всички тези царе се събраха, дойдоха и заедно разположиха стан близо до езерото Мером, за да се бият с Израел.

and all these kings are met together, and they come and encamp together at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.

6 Т огава Господ каза на Исус: Не се плаши от тях! Защото утре по това време Аз ще ги предам всички избити пред Израел; и ще прережеш жилите на конете им и ще изгориш с огън колесниците им.

And Jehovah saith unto Joshua, `Be not afraid of their presence, for to-morrow about this time I am giving all of them wounded before Israel; their horses thou dost hough, and their chariots burn with fire.'

7 И така, Исус и всичките войни с него излязоха внезапно против тях при езерото Мером и ги нападнаха.

And Joshua cometh, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and they fall on them;

8 И Господ ги предаде на Израел; и те ги поразиха и ги гониха до самия Сидон и до Мисрефот-маим, и до долината на Масфа на изток; поразяваха ги, докато не остана жив нито един от тях.

and Jehovah giveth them into the hand of Israel, and they smite them and pursue them unto the great Zidon, and unto Misrephoth-Maim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward, and they smite them, till he hath not left to them a remnant;

9 И сус постъпи с тях, както Господ му заповяда: преряза жилите на конете им и изгори с огън колесниците им.

and Joshua doth to them as Jehovah said to him; their horses he hath houghed, and their chariots burnt with fire.

10 П о това време Исус, като се върна, превзе Асор и уби царя му с меч; защото преди Асор беше най-главното между всички тези царства.

And Joshua turneth back at that time, and captureth Hazor, and its king he hath smitten by the sword; for Hazor formerly head of all these kingdoms;

11 В сички хора, които бяха в града, убиха с острието на меча и ги изтребиха като обречени. Не оставиха нищо живо и изгориха Асор с огън.

and they smite every person who in it by the mouth of the sword; he hath devoted -- he hath not left any one breathing, and Hazor he hath burnt with fire;

12 И сус превзе всички градове на местните царе, царете им залови и ги уби с острието на меча; изтреби ги, както беше заповядал Господният слуга Моисей.

and all the cities of these kings, and all their kings, hath Joshua captured, and he smiteth them by the mouth of the sword; he devoted them, as Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded.

13 Н о Израел не изгори никой от градовете, разположени върху хълмовете, освен единствено Асор, който Исус изгори.

Only, all the cities which are standing by their hill, Israel hath not burned them, save Hazor only, hath Joshua burnt;

14 В сичката плячка на тези градове и добитъка им израелтяните плениха за себе си, а всичките хора убиваха с острието на меча, докато ги изтребиха; не оставиха нищо живо.

and all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, have the sons of Israel spoiled for themselves; only, every human being they have smitten by the mouth of the sword, till their destroying them; they have not left any one breathing.

15 К акто Господ беше заповядал на слугата Си Моисей, така Моисей заповяда на Исус. Така и направи Исус; не наруши нищо от това, което Господ беше заповядал на Моисей.

As Jehovah commanded Moses His servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so hath Joshua done; he hath not turned aside a thing of all that Jehovah commanded Moses.

16 Т ака Исус превзе цялата онази хълмиста земя и Негев, и цялата земя Гесен, равнината и пустинята Араба, хълмистата и равната земя на Израел,

And Joshua taketh all this land: the hill-country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the plain, even the hill-country of Israel and its low lands,

17 о т възвишението Халак в посока към Сир до Ваалгад в Ливанската долина в подножието на планината Ермон; и залови всичките им царе, порази ги и ги уби.

from the mount of Halak, which is going up Seir, and unto Baal-Gad, in the valley of Lebanon, under mount Hermon; and all their kings he hath captured, and he smiteth them, and putteth them to death.

18 Д ълго време воюваше Исус против всички тези царе.

Many days hath Joshua made with all these kings war;

19 Н ямаше град, който да сключи мир с израелтяните, освен евейците, които живееха в Гаваон. Всички градове бяха превзети с бой.

there hath not been a city which made peace with the sons of Israel save the Hivite, inhabitants of Gibeon; the whole they have taken in battle;

20 З ащото от Господа стана да се закоравят сърцата им, така че да излязат против Израел на бой, за да ги обрече Исус на изтребление, за да не им се покаже милост, а да ги изтреби, както Господ беше заповядал на Моисей.

for from Jehovah it hath been to strengthen their heart, to meet in battle with Israel, in order to devote them, so that they have no grace, but in order to destroy them, as Jehovah commanded Moses.

21 В онова време Исус дойде и изтреби енакимите от планинската земя, от Хеврон, от Девир, от Анав и от цялата хълмиста земя на Юда, и от цялата Израелева хълмиста земя; Исус ги обрече на изтребление заедно с градовете им.

And Joshua cometh at that time, and cutteth off the Anakim from the hill-country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, even from all the hill-country of Judah, and from all the hill-country of Israel; with their cities hath Joshua devoted them.

22 Н е останаха енакими в земята на израелтяните; само в Газа, Гет и Азот останаха някои от тях.

There hath not been left Anakim in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, were they left.

23 Т ака Исус превзе цялата земя, както Господ беше казал на Моисей. Исус я даде на Израел за наследство, като я раздели според племената им. И земята утихна от война.

And Joshua taketh the whole of the land, according to all that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses, and Joshua giveth it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes; and the land hath rest from war.
