1 С лед това известиха на Йосиф: Ето, баща ти е болен. И той поведе със себе си двамата си сина, Манасия и Ефрем, да отидат при него.

And it cometh to pass, after these things, that saith to Joseph, `Lo, thy father is sick;' and he taketh his two sons with him, Manasseh and Ephraim.

2 И известиха на Яков: Ето, синът ти Йосиф идва при тебе. Тогава Израел събра силите си и седна на леглото.

And declareth to Jacob, and saith, `Lo, thy son Joseph is coming unto thee;' and Israel doth strengthen himself, and sit upon the bed.

3 Я ков каза на Йосиф: Бог Всемогъщий ми се яви в Луз, в Ханаанската земя, и ме благослови, като ми каза:

And Jacob saith unto Joseph, `God Almighty hath appeared unto me, in Luz, in the land of Canaan, and blesseth me,

4 Е то, Аз ще те наплодя, ще те размножа и ще направя да произлязат много народи от теб; и ще дам тази земя на потомството ти след тебе за вечно притежание.

and saith unto me, Lo, I am making thee fruitful, and have multiplied thee, and given thee for an assembly of peoples, and given this land to thy seed after thee, a possession age-during.

5 И сега, двамата ти сина, които ти се родиха в Египетската земя, преди да дойда аз при тебе в Египет, са мои; Ефрем и Манасия ще бъдат мои, също както Рувим и Симеон.

`And now, thy two sons, who are born to thee in the land of Egypt, before my coming unto thee to Egypt, mine they; Ephraim and Manasseh, as Reuben and Simeon they are mine;

6 А децата, които родиш след тях, ще бъдат твои; а колкото до наследството си, ще се наричат с името на тези свои братя.

and thy family which thou hast begotten after them are thine; by the name of their brethren they are called in their inheritance.

7 А когато се връщах от Падан, Рахил умря пред мене на пътя в Ханаанската земя, като оставаше малко разстояние да стигнем до Ефрат; погребах я там, край пътя за Ефрат (който е Витлеем).

`And I -- in my coming in from Padan- Rachel hath died by me in the land of Canaan, in the way, while yet a kibrath of land to enter Ephrata, and I bury her there in the way of Ephrata, which Bethlehem.'

8 И като съгледа Йосифовите синове, Израел каза: Кои са тези?

And Israel seeth the sons of Joseph, and saith, `Who these?'

9 А Йосиф отговори на баща си: Тези са синовете, които Бог ми даде тук. А той каза: Моля, доведи ги при мене, за да ги благословя.

and Joseph saith unto his father, `They my sons, whom God hath given to me in this;' and he saith, `Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I bless them.'

10 А очите на Израел бяха помрачени от старост и не можеше да вижда. И така, Йосиф ги приближи при него, а той ги целуна и ги прегърна.

And the eyes of Israel have been heavy from age, he is unable to see; and he bringeth them nigh unto him, and he kisseth them, and cleaveth to them;

11 И Израел каза на Йосиф: Не се надявах да видя лицето ти, но, ето, Бог ми показа и потомството ти.

and Israel saith unto Joseph, `To see thy face I had not thought, and lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.'

12 А Йосиф, като ги махна отмежду коленете си, поклони се с лицето до земята.

And Joseph bringeth them out from between his knees, and boweth himself on his face to the earth;

13 П осле Йосиф ги взе двамата, Ефрем с дясната си ръка към лявата на Израел, а Манасия с лявата си ръка към дясната на Израел, и ги доведе при него.

and Joseph taketh them both, Ephraim in his right hand towards Israel's left, and Manasseh in his left towards Israel's right, and bringeth nigh to him.

14 А Израел простря дясната си ръка и я възложи на главата на Ефрем, който беше по-младият, а лявата ръка - на Манасиевата глава, като нарочно кръстоса ръцете си (защото Манасия беше първородният).

And Israel putteth out his right hand, and placeth upon the head of Ephraim, who the younger, and his left hand upon the head of Manasseh; he hath guided his hands wisely, for Manasseh the first-born.

15 И като благослови Йосиф, каза: Бог, пред Когото ходиха бащите ми Авраам и Исаак, Бог, Който ме е пазил през целия ми живот до този ден;

And he blesseth Joseph, and saith, `God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked habitually: God who is feeding me from my being unto this day:

16 а нгелът, който ме избавя от всяко зло, нека благослови момчетата; и нека се наричат с моето име и с името на бащите ми Авраам и Исаак; и нека се умножат в земята.

the Messenger who is redeeming me from all evil doth bless the youths, and my name is called upon them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and they increase into a multitude in the midst of the land.'

17 Н о Йосиф, като видя, че баща му възложи дясната си ръка на Ефремовата глава, не одобри това; и вдигна ръката на баща си, за да я премести от Ефремовата на Манасиевата глава,

And Joseph seeth that his father setteth his right hand on the head of Ephraim, and it is wrong in his eyes, and he supporteth the hand of his father to turn it aside from off the head of Ephraim to the head of Manasseh;

18 и Йосиф каза на баща си: Не така, татко, защото ето първородния, възложи дясната си ръка на неговата глава.

and Joseph saith unto his father, `Not so, my father, for this the first-born; set thy right hand on his head.'

19 Н о баща му отказа с думите: Зная, синко, зная; и той ще стане племе; и той ще бъде велик; но по-младият му брат ще бъде по-голям от него и потомството му ще стане множество народи.

And his father refuseth, and saith, `I have known, my son, I have known; he also becometh a people, and he also is great, and yet, his young brother is greater than he, and his seed is the fulness of the nations;'

20 И така, в същия ден ги благослови: С твоето име Израел ще благославя, като казва: Бог да те направи като Ефрем и Манасия! - като постави Ефрем пред Манасия.

and he blesseth them in that day, saying, `By thee doth Israel bless, saying, God set thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh;' and he setteth Ephraim before Manasseh.

21 С лед това Израел каза на Йосиф: Ето, аз умирам; но Бог ще бъде с вас и ще ви върне пак в отечеството ви.

And Israel saith unto Joseph, `Lo, I am dying, and God hath been with you, and hath brought you back unto the land of your fathers;

22 В прочем аз на тебе давам един дял повече, отколкото на братята ти, който дял взех от ръцете на аморейците с меча си и с лъка си.

and I -- I have given to thee one portion above thy brethren, which I have taken out of the hand of the Amorite by my sword and by my bow.'
