1 Г осподнето слово дойде към мен и каза:

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

2 С ине човешки, какво повече е лозовото дърво от кое да е друго дърво или лозовата пръчка, която е такава, каквито са и горските дървета?

“Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any other wood, the vine branch which is among the trees of the forest?

3 Щ е се вземе ли дърво от него, за да се направи някаква работа? Или ще вземат ли от него колче, за да окачат на него някой съд?

Is wood taken from it to make any object? Or can men make a peg from it to hang any vessel on?

4 Е то, то се хвърля в огъня за гориво; когато огънят е изял и двата му края, средата му е опърлена. Ще бъде ли полезно за някоя работа?

Instead, it is thrown into the fire for fuel; the fire devours both ends of it, and its middle is burned. Is it useful for any work?

5 Е то, когато беше цяло, не ставаше за работа; колко по-малко ще стане за работа, когато го е изял огънят и е опърлено!

Indeed, when it was whole, no object could be made from it. How much less will it be useful for any work when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned?

6 З атова така казва Господ Йехова: Както предадох на огъня за гориво лозовото дърво между горските дървета, така ще предам тези, които живеят в Йерусалим.

“Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give up the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

7 Щ е насоча лицето Си против тях; те ще излязат от огъня, но огънят ще ги погълне; и когато насоча лицето Си против тях, ще познаете, че Аз съм Господ.

and I will set My face against them. They will go out from one fire, but another fire shall devour them. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I set My face against them.

8 И ще предам земята на запустение, защото станаха престъпници, казва Господ Йехова.

Thus I will make the land desolate, because they have persisted in unfaithfulness,’ says the Lord God.”
