1 А целият Юдейски народ взе Озия, който беше на шестнадесет години, и го направи цар вместо баща му Амасия.

Now all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.

2 Т ой съгради Елот и го върна на Юдея, след като баща му, царят, заспа с бащите си.

He built Elath and restored it to Judah, after the king rested with his fathers.

3 О зия беше на възраст шестнадесет години, когато се възцари, и царува̀ петдесет и две години в Йерусалим; името на майка му беше Ехолия, от Йерусалим.

Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

4 Т ой вършѝ това, което беше право пред Господа, напълно според както беше сторил баща му Амасия.

And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

5 И търсеше Бога в дните на Захария, който разбираше Божиите видения; и докато търсеше Господа, Бог му даваше успех.

He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him prosper.

6 Ц арят излезе и воюва против филистимците, и събори стената на Гет, стената на Явни и стената на Азот, и съгради градове в азотската околност и между филистимците.

Now he went out and made war against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities around Ashdod and among the Philistines.

7 Б ог му помогна против филистимците и против арабите, които живееха в Гур-ваал, и против маонците.

God helped him against the Philistines, against the Arabians who lived in Gur Baal, and against the Meunites.

8 И амонците даваха подаръци на Озия; и името му се прочу чак до входа на Египет, защото стана много силен.

Also the Ammonites brought tribute to Uzziah. His fame spread as far as the entrance of Egypt, for he became exceedingly strong.

9 О зия съгради и кули в Йерусалим, върху портата на ъгъла, върху портата на долината и върху ъгъла на стената, и ги укрепи.

And Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, at the Valley Gate, and at the corner buttress of the wall; then he fortified them.

10 С ъгради още кули в пустинята и изкопа много кладенци, защото имаше много добитък и по ниските места, и в равнината, имаше и орачи и лозари в планините и на Кармил; защото обичаше земеделието.

Also he built towers in the desert. He dug many wells, for he had much livestock, both in the lowlands and in the plains; he also had farmers and vinedressers in the mountains and in Carmel, for he loved the soil.

11 П ри това Озия имаше войска от военни мъже, които излизаха на война по полкове според броя им, който бе преброен от секретаря Еиил и настоятеля Маасия под ръководството на Анания, един от царските военачалници.

Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men who went out to war by companies, according to the number on their roll as prepared by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king’s captains.

12 Ц елият брой на началниците на бащините домове, на силните и храбри мъже, беше две хиляди и шестстотин.

The total number of chief officers of the mighty men of valor was two thousand six hundred.

13 П од тяхна ръка имаше военна сила от триста и седем хиляди и петстотин души, които се биеха с голяма храброст, за да помагат на царя против неприятелите.

And under their authority was an army of three hundred and seven thousand five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.

14 О зия приготви за тях, за цялата войска, щитове и копия, шлемове и брони, лъкове и камъни за прашки.

Then Uzziah prepared for them, for the entire army, shields, spears, helmets, body armor, bows, and slings to cast stones.

15 А в Йерусалим направи машини, изобретени от изкусни мъже, да бъдат поставени на кулите и на крепостите при ъглите, за хвърляне на стрели и големи камъни. И името му се прочу надалеч; защото му се помагаше чудно, докато стана силен.

And he made devices in Jerusalem, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and the corners, to shoot arrows and large stones. So his fame spread far and wide, for he was marvelously helped till he became strong. The Penalty for Uzziah’s Pride

16 Н о когато стана силен, сърцето му се надигна и се отдаде на поквара; и извърши престъпление против Господа, своя Бог, като влезе в Господния храм, за да покади върху кадилния олтар.

But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.

17 А свещеник Азария влезе след него и с него осемдесет Господни свещеници, храбри мъже;

So Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him were eighty priests of the Lord —valiant men.

18 т е се възпротивиха на цар Озия и му казаха: Не е в твоя власт, Озия, да кадиш на Господа, а на свещениците, Аароновите потомци, които са посветени, за да кадят; излез от светилището, защото си извършил престъпление, което няма да ти бъде за почит от Господа Бога.

And they withstood King Uzziah, and said to him, “ It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have trespassed! You shall have no honor from the Lord God.”

19 А Озия, който държеше в ръката си кадилница, за да кади, се разяри; и като се разяри на свещениците, проказата му избухна на челото му пред свещениците в Господния дом, близо до кадилния олтар.

Then Uzziah became furious; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense. And while he was angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead, before the priests in the house of the Lord, beside the incense altar.

20 П ървосвещеник Азария и всички свещеници погледнаха към него и видяха, че беше прокажен на челото си; и побързаха да го извадят оттам; и даже сам той побърза да излезе, защото Господ го беше поразил.

And Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and there, on his forehead, he was leprous; so they thrust him out of that place. Indeed he also hurried to get out, because the Lord had struck him.

21 И цар Озия остана прокажен до деня на смъртта си; живееше в отделна къща като прокажен, понеже беше отлъчен от Господния дом; а синът му Йотам беше над царския дом и съдеше народа на земята.

King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death. He dwelt in an isolated house, because he was a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord. Then Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.

22 А останалите дела на Озия, първите и последните, записа пророк Исая, Амосовият син.

Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, from first to last, the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz wrote.

23 И Озия заспа с бащите си и го погребаха с бащите му в оградата на царските гробища, защото казаха: Прокажен е. И вместо него се възцари синът му Йотам.

So Uzziah rested with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings, for they said, “He is a leper.” Then Jotham his son reigned in his place.
