1 І був жеребок для племени Юдиних синів за їхніми родами: до едомської границі пустиня Цін, на південь від теманського краю.

The share of land for the family group of the people of Judah by their families was south to the land of Edom. It went to the Desert of Zin at the far south.

2 І була їм південна границя від кінця Солоного моря, від затоки, зверненої на південь.

The south side of their land was from the south end of the Salt Sea.

3 І йде вона на південь від Маале-Акраббіму, і переходить до Ціну, і підіймається з півдня, від Кадеш-Барнеа й переходить до Хецрону, і підіймається до Аддару й обертається до Кар до Каркаї.

It went south of the hill of Akrabbim and on to Zin. Then it went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea and on to Hezron and Addar and turned to Karka.

4 І переходить вона до Адмону, і йде до єгипетського потоку, і границя закінчується на захід. Це буде для вас південна границя.

It went on to Azmon and the river of Egypt and ended at the sea. This was the south side of their land.

5 А границя на схід Солоне море аж до кінця Йордану. А границя у бік півночі: від морської затоки з кінця Йордану,

The east side was the Salt Sea, as far as the end of the Jordan. The north side was from the part of the sea at the end of the Jordan.

6 і підіймається границя до Бет-Хоґли й переходить на північ від Бет-Гаарови; і підіймається та границя до Евен-Боган-Бен-Рувена.

It went up to Beth-hoglah, passed north of Beth-arabah, and went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.

7 І підіймається та границя від ахорської долини, а на півночі звертається до Ґілґалу, що навпроти Маале-Адумміму, що на південь від потоку. І переходить та границя до Ме-Ен-Шемешу, і закінчується при Ен-Роґелі.

It went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, then turned north to Gilgal beside the hill of Adummim which is on the south side of the valley. It went on to the waters of En-shemesh, and ended at Enrogel.

8 І підіймається та границя до Ґе-Бен-Гінному побіч євусеянина з півдня, це Єрусалим. І підіймається та границя до верхів'я гори, що навпроти Ґе-Гінному на захід, що в кінці Емек-Рефаіму на північ.

Then the side of their land went up the valley of Ben-Hinnom to the hill of the Jebusite on the south (that is, Jerusalem). It went on to the top of the mountain beside the valley of Hinnom on the west, at the north end of the valley of Rephaim.

9 І біжить та границя від верхів'я гори до джерела Ме-Нефтоаху, і йде до міст гори Ефрону; і біжить та границя до Баали, це Кір'ят-Єарім.

The side of their land then went from the top of the mountain to the well of the waters of Nephtoah. It went on to the cities of Mount Ephron, then turned to Baalah (that is, Kiriath-jearim).

10 І обертається та границя з Баали на захід до гори Сеїр, і переходить до плеча гори Єарім з півночі, це Кесалон; і сходить до Бет-Шемешу й переходить до Тімни.

The side of their land went around west of Baalah to Mount Seir. It went on to the north side of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), then down to Beth-shemesh and on through Timnah.

11 І йде та границя по край Екрону на північ, і біжить та границя до Шіккарону, і переходить до гори Баали, і йде до Явнеїлу. І границя закінчується при заході.

The side of their land went on to the north side of Ekron. Then it turned to Shikkeron and went on to Mount Baalah and on to Jabneel, and ended at the sea.

12 А західня границя до Великого моря. А границя ця границя Юдиних синів навколо за їхніми родами.

The west side of their land was along the side of the Great Sea. These are the sides of the land of the people of Judah by their families.

13 А Калеву, синові Єфуннеєвому, він дав частку серед Юдиних синів, за Господнім наказом до Ісуса, Кір'ят-Арби, батька велетнів, воно Хеврон.

Joshua gave Caleb son of Jephunneh a share among the people of Judah, as the Lord told him. It was Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), named for Arba, the father of Anak.

14 І Калев повиганяв звідти трьох велетнів: Шешая, і Ахімана, і Талмая, уроджених велетнів.

Caleb drove away from there the three sons of Anak. The children of Anak were Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai.

15 І пішов він звідти до девірських мешканців, а ім'я Девіра давніше Кір'ят-Сефер.

From there he went to fight against the people of Debir. The name of Debir had been Kiriath-sepher before.

16 І сказав Калев: Хто поб'є Кір'ят-Сефер та здобуде його, то дам йому дочку мою Ахсу за жінку.

Caleb said, “I will give my daughter Achsah as a wife to the one who fights against Kiriath-sepher and takes it.”

17 І здобув його Отніїл, син Кеназів, брат Калевів. І він дав йому свою дочку Ахсу за жінку.

Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s brother, took it. So Caleb gave him his daughter Achsah as a wife.

18 І сталося, коли вона відходила, то намовила його жадати поля від її батька. І зійшла вона з осла, а Калев сказав їй: Що тобі?

When she came to Othniel, she talked him into asking her father for a field. When she got down off her donkey, Caleb said to her, “What do you want?”

19 І вона сказала: Дай мені дар благословення! Бо ти дав мені землю суху, то даси мені це й водні джерела. І він дав їй Ґуллот горішній та Ґуллот долішній.

Achsah answered, “Give me a gift. You have given me the land of the Negev. Give me wells of water also.” So Caleb gave her the wells in the high-land and in the valley.

20 О це спадок племени Юдиних синів за їхніми родами.

This is the land given to the family group of the people of Judah for their families.

21 І були ті міста від краю племени Юдиних синів до едомської границі на півдні: Кавцеїл, і Едер, і Яґур,

The cities of the family of Judah in the far south, toward the land of Edom, were Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,

22 і Кіна, і Дімона, і Ад'ада,

Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah,

23 і Кедеш, і Хацор, і Їтнан,

Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan,

24 З іф, і Телем, і Беалот,

Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,

25 і Хацор-Хадатта, і Керійот-Хецрон, це Хацор,

Hazor-hadattah, Keriothhezron (that is, Hazor),

26 А мам, і Шема, і Молада,

Amam, Shema, Moladah,

27 і Хацор-Ґадда, і Хешмон, і Бет-Пелет,

Hazar-gaddah, Heshmon, Beth-peet,

33 Н а Шефалі: Ештаол, і Цор'а, і Ашна,

Near the sea were Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah,

34 і Заноах, і Ен-Ґаннім, Таппуах і Гаенам,

Zanoah, En-gannim, Tappuah, Enam,

35 Я рмут, і Адуллам, Сохо й Азека,

Jarmuth, Adullam, Socoh, Azekah,

36 і Шаараїм, і Адітаїм, і Ґедера, і Ґедеротаїм, чотирнадцять міст та їхні оселі.

Shaaraim, Adithaim, Gederah, and Gederothaim, fourteen cities with their towns.

37 Ц енан, і Хадаша, і Міґдал-Ґад,

And there were Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal-gad,

38 і Діл'ан, і Міцпе, і Йоктеїл,

Dilean, Mizpeh, Joktheel,

39 Л ахіш, і Боцкат, і Еґлон,

Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon,

40 і Каббон, і Лахмас, і Кітліш,

Cabbon, Lahmas, Chitlish,

There were Libnah, Ether, Ashan,

Keilah, Achzib, and Mareshah, nine cities with their towns.

45 Е крон і підлеглі міста його та оселі його.

And there was Ekron with its towns and villages,

46 В ід Екрону й до моря усе, що при Ашдоді та їхні оселі.

from Ekron to the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their towns and villages.

47 А шдод, підлеглі міста його та оселі його; Азза, підлеглі міста її та оселі її до єгипетського потоку, і море Велике, і границя.

There were Ashdod with its towns and villages, and Gaza with its towns and villages, as far as the river of Egypt and the side of the Great Sea.

48 І на горах: Шамір, і Яттір, і Сохо,

In the hill country there were Shamir, Jattir, Socoh,

49 і Данна, і Кір'ят-Санна, він Девір,

Dannah, Kiriath-sannah (that is, Debir),

50 і Анав, і Ештемо, і Анім,

Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim,

Goshen, Holon, and Giloh, eleven cities with their towns.

And there were Arab, Dumah, Eshan,

Humtah, Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron), and Zior, nine cities with the towns around them.

There were Maon, Carmel, Ziph, Juttah,

And there were Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), and Rabbah, two cities with the towns around them.

61 Н а пустині: Бет-Гаарава, Міддін, і Сехаха,

In the desert there were Betharabah, Middin, Secacah,

62 і Нівшан, і Ір-Гаммелах, і Ен-Ґеді, шість міст та їхні оселі.

Nibshan, the City of Salt, and Engedi, six cities with the towns around them.

63 А євусеян, мешканців Єрусалиму, Юдини сини не могли їх вигнати, і осів Євусеянин із Юдиними синами в Єрусалимі, і так є аж до цього дня,

But the sons of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites, the people of Jerusalem. So the Jebusites live with the people of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
