1 З а десятого року, десятого місяця, дванадцятого дня місяця, було мені слово Господнє таке:

On the twelfth day of the tenth month in the tenth year, the Word of the Lord came to me saying,

2 С ину людський, зверни своє обличчя до фараона, єгипетського царя, і пророкуй на нього та на ввесь Єгипет.

“Son of man, look toward Pharaoh king of Egypt, and speak against him and against all Egypt.

3 Г овори та й скажеш: Так говорить Господь Бог: Ось Я на тебе, фараоне, царю єгипетський, крокодиле великий, що лежиш серед своїх рік, що говориш: Моя річка моя, і я утворив її для себе!

Tell them, ‘The Lord God says, “I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt. You are the big animal that lies in his rivers and says, ‘The Nile is mine. I made it.’

4 І вкладу гачки в щелепи твої, і поприліплюю рибу твоїх річок до твоєї луски, і підійму тебе з середини твоїх річок, і всі риби твоїх річок поприліплюються до твоєї луски!

I will put hooks in your mouth. I will make the fish of your rivers stick to your hard skin. And I will pull you up out of your rivers, with the fish that stick to your hard skin.

5 І вирву тебе й кину в пустиню, тебе та всі риби річок твоїх; ти впадеш на поверхні поля, не будеш згромаджений і не будеш позбираний, для земної звірини та для птаства небесного дам Я на їжу тебе...

Then I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish of your rivers. You will fall on the open field, and not be gathered or buried. I will feed you to the wild animals of the earth and to the birds of the sky.

6 І пізнають усі мешканці Єгипту, що Я Господь, бо вони були для Ізраїлевого дому очеретяною палицею.

Then all the people of Egypt will know that I am the Lord. They have been only a weak piece of river grass to the people of Israel.

7 К оли вони хапались за тебе долонею, ти ламався й роздирав їм усе рамено; а коли вони опиралися на тебе, ти ламався й чинив, що їм тряслися всі стегна.

When they took hold of you with their hands, you broke and tore all their shoulders. When they rested on you, you broke and hurt their backs.”

8 Т ому так говорить Господь Бог: Ось Я наведу на тебе меча, і витну з-між тебе людину й скотину.

So the Lord God says, “I will bring a sword against you and kill your people and animals.

9 І стане єгипетський край спустошенням та руїною, і пізнають вони, що Я Господь, за те, що він говорив: Річка моя, і то я її утворив!

And the land of Egypt will be destroyed and laid waste. Then they will know that I am the Lord. “Because you said, ‘The Nile is mine, and I made it,’

10 Т ому ось Я проти тебе та проти річок твоїх, і оберну єгипетський край на поруйновані руїни, на спустошення від Міґдолу аж до Севене, і аж до границі Етіопії,

I am against you and against your rivers. I will destroy Egypt and make it nothing but waste from Migdol to Syene and even to the land of Ethiopia.

11 н е перейде по ньому нога людська, і нога звірини не перейде по ньому, і не буде він замешканий сорок років...

No foot of man or animal will pass through it, and no one will live there for forty years.

12 І оберну Я єгипетський край на спустошення серед спустошених країв, а його міста серед поруйнованих міст будуть спустошенням сорок років, і розпорошу Єгипет серед народів, і порозсипаю їх по краях...

I will make the land of Egypt a waste among the lands which are laid waste. Her cities will be a waste for forty years among cities that are laid waste. I will divide the Egyptians among the nations and spread them out among the lands.”

13 Б о так говорить Господь Бог: Наприкінці сорока років позбираю Єгипет з-між народів, де вони були розпорошені.

’For the Lord God says, “At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the nations where they were divided.

14 І верну долю Єгипту, і верну їх до краю Патрос, до краю їхнього походження, і вони будуть там царством слабим.

I will bring them back to Egypt and let them live in Pathros, the land they came from. And there they will be a small nation.

15 З -поміж царств воно буде найнижче, і не підійметься вже понад народами, і поменшу їх, щоб не панували над народами.

It will be the least of the nations, and will never lift itself up above other nations again. I will make them so small that they will never rule over the nations.

16 І не буде вже воно для Ізраїлевого дому надією, яка пригадувала б беззаконня, коли вони, зверталися до нього. І пізнають вони що Я Господь Бог!

It will never again be a hope for the people of Israel. They will remember their sin in turning to Egypt for help in the past. Then they will know that I am the Lord God.”’” King Nebuchadnezzar Will Take Egypt

17 І сталося за двадцятого й сьомого року, першого місяця, першого дня місяця, було мені слово Господнє таке:

On the first day of the first month in the twenty-seventh year, the Word of the Lord came to me saying,

18 С ину людський, Навуходоносор, цар вавилонський, змусив своє військо робити велику працю проти Тиру. Кожна голова вилисіла, і всяке рамено витерте, та нема нагороди ані йому, ані війську його від Тиру за ту працю, яку він робив проти нього.

“Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army work hard against Tyre. Every head lost its hair, and skin was rubbed off every shoulder. But he and his army did not receive anything from Tyre to pay for the work he had done against it.”

19 Т ому так говорить Господь Бог: Ось Я дам Навуходоносорові, цареві вавилонському, єгипетську землю, і він забере багатство її, і ограбує грабунком її, і забере її здобиччю, і вона стане нагородою для війська його.

So the Lord God says, “I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. And he will carry away her riches. He will take all her good things, and they will be pay for his army.

20 З а працю його, яку він робив у ній, Я даю йому єгипетську землю, бо вони це зробили Мені, говорить Господь Бог.

I have given him the land of Egypt for the work he has done, because he and his army worked for Me,” says the Lord God.

21 Т ого дня вирощу рога Ізраїлевому домові, а тобі відкрию уста серед них. І вони пізнають, що Я Господь.

“On that day I will make the people of Israel strong, and give you the power to speak among them. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
