1 Н емного позже Иисус пошел на иудейский праздник в Иерусалим.

After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 В Иерусалиме, недалеко от Овечьих ворот, есть пруд, называемый по-еврейски Вифезда, окруженный пятью крытыми колоннадами.

Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porticoes.

3 Т ам лежало много инвалидов, слепых, хромых и парализованных. Они ожидали движения воды.

In these lay a multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, and withered, '> waiting for the moving of the waters;

4 И ногда ангел Господа сходил и возмущал воду, и тогда первый, кто входил в пруд, исцелялся от любой болезни.

for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool and stirred up the water; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was made well from whatever disease with which he was afflicted.]

5 С реди них был человек, больной уже тридцать восемь лет.

A man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years.

6 К огда Иисус увидел его лежащим там и узнал, что тот уже давно в таком состоянии, Он спросил его: – Ты хочешь выздороветь?

When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, “Do you wish to get well?”

7 Б ольной ответил: – Господин, да ведь нет никого, кто бы помог мне войти в воду, когда вода бурлит. А когда я стараюсь сам дойти до воды, кто-нибудь меня уже опережает.

The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

8 Т огда Иисус сказал ему: – Встань! Бери свою циновку и иди.

Jesus said to him, “ Get up, pick up your pallet and walk.”

9 И этот человек в тот же миг стал здоров. Он взял свою циновку и пошел. Это произошло в субботу.

Immediately the man became well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk. Now it was the Sabbath on that day.

10 И удеи поэтому сказали исцеленному: – Сегодня суббота, и тебе нельзя нести циновку.

So the Jews were saying to the man who was cured, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not permissible for you to carry your pallet.”

11 Н о он ответил: – Тот, Кто исцелил меня, Тот и сказал мне: «Возьми свою циновку и иди».

But he answered them, “He who made me well was the one who said to me, ‘Pick up your pallet and walk.’ ”

12 О ни спросили: – Кто Он такой, Тот, Кто сказал тебе взять циновку и идти?

They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Pick up your pallet and walk’ ?”

13 И сцеленный и сам не знал, Кто Это был, потому что Иисус скрылся в толпе, которая была там.

But the man who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away while there was a crowd in that place.

14 П озже Иисус нашел его в храме и сказал: – Ну вот ты и здоров. Не греши больше, чтобы не случилось с тобой еще худшего.

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.”

15 Ч еловек этот тогда пошел и сказал иудеям, что его исцелил Иисус. Вечная жизнь через Сына

The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

16 И удеи стали преследовать Иисуса, потому что Он сделал это в субботу.

For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on the Sabbath.

17 И исус же сказал им: – Мой Отец совершает работу всегда, и Я тоже это делаю.

But He answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.” Jesus’ Equality with God

18 Т огда иудеи еще более усердно стали искать возможности убить Иисуса, ведь Он не только нарушал субботу, но к тому же называл Бога Своим Отцом, приравнивая Себя к Богу.

For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.

19 Н а это Иисус ответил им так: – Говорю вам истину: Сын ничего не может делать Сам от Себя, пока не увидит Отца делающим. То, что делает Отец, делает и Сын.

Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.

20 В едь Отец любит Сына и показывает Ему все, что делает Сам, и вы удивитесь, потому что Он покажет Ему более великие дела.

For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel.

21 Т очно так, как Отец воскрешает мертвых и дает им жизнь, так и Сын дает жизнь тем, кому хочет.

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes.

22 Б олее того, Отец никого не судит, Он доверил весь суд Сыну,

For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son,

23 ч тобы все почитали Сына, как чтят Отца. Тот, кто не чтит Сына, не чтит и Отца, пославшего Сына.

so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

24 Г оворю вам истину: всякий, кто слышит Мое слово и верит Пославшему Меня, имеет жизнь вечную, и ему не придется приходить на суд, он уже перешел из смерти в жизнь.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. Two Resurrections

25 Г оворю вам истину: наступает время, и уже наступило, когда мертвые услышат голос Сына Бога, и те, кто услышит, оживут.

Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

26 П отому что, как Отец имеет жизнь в Самом Себе, так Он дал иметь жизнь в Самом Себе и Сыну.

For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;

27 О н дал Ему власть судить, потому что Он – Сын Человеческий.

and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.

28 Н е удивляйтесь этому, потому что настанет время, когда все, кто находится сейчас в могилах, услышат Его голос

Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,

29 и выйдут из могил. Те, кто делал добро, воскреснут, чтобы жить, и те, кто делал зло, поднимутся, чтобы получить осуждение.

and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

30 Я не могу ничего делать Сам от Себя. Я сужу так, как Мне сказано, и Мой суд справедлив, потому что Я стремлюсь исполнить не Свою волю, а волю Пославшего Меня. Иисус подтверждает истинность Своих слов

“ I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

31 – Если бы Я свидетельствовал Сам о Себе, то свидетельство Мое было бы недействительно,

“ If I alone testify about Myself, My testimony is not true.

32 н о обо Мне свидетельствует еще один свидетель, и Я знаю, что Его свидетельство обо Мне истинно.

There is another who testifies of Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about Me is true. Witness of John

33 В ы посылали к Иоанну, и он свидетельствовал об истине.

You have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.

34 Я не нуждаюсь в свидетельстве людей, но говорю об этом, чтобы вы были спасены.

But the testimony which I receive is not from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved.

35 И оанн был горящим и сияющим светильником, и вы хотели хоть некоторое время порадоваться при его свете.

He was the lamp that was burning and was shining and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light. Witness of Works

36 Н о у Меня есть свидетельство сильнее Иоаннова. Дела, которые Отец поручил Мне совершить и которые Я совершаю, свидетельствуют о том, что Отец послал Меня.

But the testimony which I have is greater than the testimony of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplish—the very works that I do—testify about Me, that the Father has sent Me. Witness of the Father

37 О бо Мне свидетельствует и Сам Отец, пославший Меня. Вы никогда не слышали Его голоса и не видели Его облика.

And the Father who sent Me, He has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form.

38 Е го слово не живет в вас, потому что вы не верите Тому, Кого Он послал.

You do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He sent. Witness of the Scripture

39 В ы старательно исследуете Писания, надеясь через них получить жизнь вечную. А ведь Писания свидетельствуют обо Мне.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;

40 О днако вы отказываетесь прийти ко Мне, чтобы получить жизнь.

and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

41 М не не нужна слава от людей,

I do not receive glory from men;

42 н о Я знаю вас: в ваших сердцах нет любви к Богу.

but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.

43 Я пришел во Имя Моего Отца, и вы Меня не принимаете, но когда кто-либо другой придет во имя самого себя – его вы примете.

I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.

44 К ак вы можете поверить, когда вы ищете похвалы друг от друга, но не прилагаете никаких усилий, чтобы получить похвалу от единого Бога?

How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?

45 Н е думайте, однако, что Я буду обвинять вас перед Отцом. Ваш обвинитель – Моисей, на которого вы возлагаете ваши надежды.

Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope.

46 Е сли бы вы верили Моисею, то верили бы и Мне, потому что Моисей писал обо Мне.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me.

47 Н о если вы не верите тому, что он написал, то как вы можете поверить Моим словам?

But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
