1 N u te mânia din pricina celor răi şi nu-i invidia pe cei ce săvârşesc răul,

Don’t fret because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.

2 c ăci ei se usucă repede ca iarba şi se veştejesc precum verdeaţa!

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb.

3 Î ncrede-te în Domnul şi fă binele! Locuieşte în ţară şi veghează să umbli în credincioşie!

Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.

4 D esfătarea ta să fie Domnul şi El va împlini cererile inimii tale!

Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Î ncredinţează-ţi calea în mâna Domnului, încrede-te în El, şi El va lucra.

Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:

6 E l va face să răsară dreptatea ta ca zorii şi cauza ta dreaptă – ca miezul zilei.

he will make your righteousness go out as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun.

7 T aci înaintea Domnului şi nădăjduieşte în El, nu te mânia din pricina celui ce reuşeşte în umblarea lui, a celui ce-şi împlineşte planurile lui rele.

Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.

8 R enunţă la mânie, părăseşte furia! Nu te mânia, căci mânia duce numai la rău!

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret, it leads only to evildoing.

9 F iindcă cei ce fac răul vor fi stârpiţi, dar numai cei ce nădăjduiesc în Domnul vor moşteni ţara!

For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land.

10 Î ncă puţină vreme şi cel rău nu va mai fi; te vei uita la locul unde era şi nu va mai fi.

For yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more. Yes, though you look for his place, he isn’t there.

11 C ei blânzi însă vor moşteni ţara şi se vor bucura de belşug de pace!

But the humble shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12 C el rău unelteşte împotriva celui drept, scrâşneşte din dinţi împotriva lui.

The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth.

13 D ar Stăpânul râde de el, căci ştie că-i soseşte şi lui ziua.

The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.

14 C ei răi îşi scot sabia, îşi încordează arcul, ca să-l doboare pe cel sărman şi pe cel nevoiaş, să-i înjunghie pe cei ale căror căi sunt drepte.

The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright on the path.

15 C u săbiile lor însă îşi vor străpunge propriile inimi, iar arcurile le vor fi zdrobite.

Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken.

16 M ai bun este puţinul celui drept, decât belşugul multor răi,

Better is a little that the righteous has, than the abundance of many wicked.

17 c ăci braţele celor răi vor fi frânte, dar Domnul îi sprijină pe cei drepţi.

For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but Yahweh upholds the righteous.

18 D omnul cunoaşte zilele celor integri. Moştenirea lor va fi pe vecie.

Yahweh knows the days of the perfect. Their inheritance shall be forever.

19 E i nu sunt făcuţi de ruşine în vreme rea, iar în zile de foamete vor fi săturaţi.

They shall not be disappointed in the time of evil. In the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20 C ei răi vor pieri însă, iar duşmanii Domnului vor fi ca cele mai frumoase păşuni; vor trece, ca fumul vor trece.

But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish— vanish like smoke.

21 C el rău împrumută, dar nu mai dă înapoi; cel drept însă este milos şi înapoiază.

The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.

22 C ei ce sunt binecuvântaţi de El vor moşteni ţara, dar cei ce sunt blestemaţi de El vor fi stârpiţi.

For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.

23 D omnul întăreşte paşii omului, atunci când Îşi găseşte plăcere în calea lui.

A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way.

24 C ând acesta cade, nu este doborât de tot, căci Domnul îl sprijină cu mâna Sa.

Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand.

25 D in tinereţea mea şi până la bătrâneţe nu am văzut vreun om drept părăsit, nici pe urmaşii lui cerşindu-şi pâinea.

I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.

26 E l este milos în fiecare zi şi dă cu împrumut, iar urmaşii lui vor fi o binecuvântare.

All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His offspring is blessed.

27 D eci depărtează-te de rău şi fă binele! Atunci vei putea locui în ţară pentru totdeauna!

Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever.

28 D omnului Îi place să facă dreptate şi nu-Şi părăseşte credincioşii! Totdeauna ei sunt păziţi, dar urmaşii celor răi vor fi stârpiţi.

For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.

29 C ei drepţi vor moşteni ţara, o vor locui pe vecie.

The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.

30 G ura celui drept rosteşte cuvinte înţelepte, iar limba lui grăieşte cu dreptate.

The mouth of the righteous talks of wisdom. His tongue speaks justice.

31 E l poartă în inimă Legea Dumnezeului său, şi astfel picioarele nu-i alunecă.

The law of his God is in his heart. None of his steps shall slide.

32 C el rău îl pândeşte pe cel drept, căutând să-l omoare,

The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him.

33 î nsă Domnul nu-l dă pe mâna lui şi nu-l lasă să fie osândit la judecata lui.

Yahweh will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

34 N ădăjduieşte în Domnul şi păzeşte calea Lui, iar El te va înălţa ca să stăpâneşti ţara şi vei vedea nimicirea celor răi!

Wait for Yahweh, and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.

35 L -am văzut pe cel rău în toată puterea lui, întinzându-se ca un copac bogat, bine sădit în ţara lui.

I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.

36 D ar când am trecut încă o dată pe acolo, nu mai era; l-am căutat, dar nu l-am mai găsit.

But he passed away, and behold, he was not. Yes, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37 U ită-te la cel cinstit, priveşte-l pe cel integru, căci omul paşnic are viitor!

Mark the perfect man, and see the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.

38 R ăzvrătiţii vor fi nimiciţi cu toţii; viitorul celor răi va fi retezat.

As for transgressors, they shall be destroyed together. The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 I zbăvirea celor drepţi vine de la Domnul, Care le este refugiu în vreme de necaz.

But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.

40 D omnul îi ajută şi îi scapă; îi scapă de cei răi şi îi eliberează, pentru că au căutat scăparea la El.

Yahweh helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them, Because they have taken refuge in him.
