1 I zbăveşte-mă, Doamne, de oamenii răi, păzeşte-mă de oamenii violenţi,

Deliver me, Yahweh, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man;

2 d e cei ce plănuiesc lucruri rele în inima lor şi stârnesc conflicte în fiecare zi.

those who devise mischief in their hearts. They continually gather themselves together for war.

3 E i îşi fac limba ascuţită ca a unui şarpe şi sub buzele lor este venin de viperă! Sela

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. Viper’s poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 P ăzeşte-mă, Doamne, de mâinile celui rău! Protejează-mă de omul violent, de cel ce se gândeşte cum să pună piedică paşilor mei!

Yahweh, keep me from the hands of the wicked. Preserve me from the violent men who have determined to trip my feet.

5 N işte îngâmfaţi mi-au ascuns curse, şi-au întins funiile laţului lor, mi-au pus capcane pe marginea potecii! Sela

The proud have hidden a snare for me, they have spread the cords of a net by the path. They have set traps for me. Selah.

6 E u însă zic Domnului: „Tu eşti Dumnezeul meu! Ascultă, Doamne, glasul rugilor mele!

7 S tăpâne Doamne, Mântuitorul meu puternic, Care mi-ai protejat capul în ziua luptei –

Yahweh, the Lord, the strength of my salvation, you have covered my head in the day of battle.

8 n u împlini, Doamne, dorinţele celui rău; nu îngădui să-i reuşească planurile, ca să nu se fălească!“ Sela

Yahweh, don’t grant the desires of the wicked. Don’t let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah.

9 C apul celor ce mă înconjoară să fie acoperit de necazul provocat de buzele lor!

As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 S ă cadă peste ei cărbuni aprinşi; să fie aruncaţi în foc, în adâncuri de unde să nu se mai scoale.

Let burning coals fall on them. Let them be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, from where they never rise.

11 F ie ca oamenii limbuţi să nu fie întăriţi în ţară; fie ca pe oamenii violenţi şi răi să-i vâneze şi să-i doboare dezastrul.

An evil speaker won’t be established in the earth. Evil will hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 Ş tiu că Domnul va face dreptate celui necăjit şi susţine cauza celor nevoiaţi.

I know that Yahweh will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and justice for the needy.

13 Î ntr-adevăr, cei drepţi vor lăuda Numele Tău, iar oamenii integri vor locui în prezenţa Ta.

Surely the righteous will give thanks to your name. The upright will dwell in your presence.
