1 O Lord, You have looked through me and have known me.

(138-1) ^^Начальнику хора. Псалом Давида.^^ Господи! Ты испытал меня и знаешь.

2 Y ou know when I sit down and when I get up. You understand my thoughts from far away.

(138-2) Ты знаешь, когда я сажусь и когда встаю; Ты разумеешь помышления мои издали.

3 Y ou look over my path and my lying down. You know all my ways very well.

(138-3) Иду ли я, отдыхаю ли--Ты окружаешь меня, и все пути мои известны Тебе.

4 E ven before I speak a word, O Lord, You know it all.

(138-4) Еще нет слова на языке моем, --Ты, Господи, уже знаешь его совершенно.

5 Y ou have closed me in from behind and in front. And You have laid Your hand upon me.

(138-5) Сзади и спереди Ты объемлешь меня, и полагаешь на мне руку Твою.

6 A ll You know is too great for me. It is too much for me to understand.

(138-6) Дивно для меня ведение, --высоко, не могу постигнуть его!

7 W here can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I run away from where You are?

(138-7) Куда пойду от Духа Твоего, и от лица Твоего куда убегу?

8 I f I go up to heaven, You are there! If I make my bed in the place of the dead, You are there!

(138-8) Взойду ли на небо--Ты там; сойду ли в преисподнюю--и там Ты.

9 I f I take the wings of the morning or live in the farthest part of the sea,

(138-9) Возьму ли крылья зари и переселюсь на край моря, --

10 e ven there Your hand will lead me and Your right hand will hold me.

(138-10) и там рука Твоя поведет меня, и удержит меня десница Твоя.

11 I f I say, “For sure the darkness will cover me and the light around me will be night,”

(138-11) Скажу ли: 'может быть, тьма скроет меня, и свет вокруг меня ночью';

12 e ven the darkness is not dark to You. And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same to You.

(138-12) но и тьма не затмит от Тебя, и ночь светла, как день: как тьма, так и свет.

13 F or You made the parts inside me. You put me together inside my mother.

(138-13) Ибо Ты устроил внутренности мои и соткал меня во чреве матери моей.

14 I will give thanks to You, for the greatness of the way I was made brings fear. Your works are great and my soul knows it very well.

(138-14) Славлю Тебя, потому что я дивно устроен. Дивны дела Твои, и душа моя вполне сознает это.

15 M y bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret and put together with care in the deep part of the earth.

(138-15) Не сокрыты были от Тебя кости мои, когда я созидаем был в тайне, образуем был во глубине утробы.

16 Y our eyes saw me before I was put together. And all the days of my life were written in Your book before any of them came to be.

(138-16) Зародыш мой видели очи Твои; в Твоей книге записаны все дни, для меня назначенные, когда ни одного из них еще не было.

17 Y our thoughts are of great worth to me, O God. How many there are!

(138-17) Как возвышенны для меня помышления Твои, Боже, и как велико число их!

18 I f I could number them, there would be more than the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.

(138-18) Стану ли исчислять их, но они многочисленнее песка; когда я пробуждаюсь, я все еще с Тобою.

19 I f only You would kill the sinful, O God, and the men of blood would go away from me!

(138-19) О, если бы Ты, Боже, поразил нечестивого! Удалитесь от меня, кровожадные!

20 F or they speak against You in sin. Those who hate You use Your name in a wrong way.

(138-20) Они говорят против Тебя нечестиво; суетное замышляют враги Твои.

21 D o I not hate those who hate You, O Lord? And do I not hate those who rise up against You?

(138-21) Мне ли не возненавидеть ненавидящих Тебя, Господи, и не возгнушаться восстающими на Тебя?

22 I hate them with the strongest hate. They have become men who hate me.

(138-22) Полною ненавистью ненавижу их: враги они мне.

23 L ook through me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts.

(138-23) Испытай меня, Боже, и узнай сердце мое; испытай меня и узнай помышления мои;

24 S ee if there is any sinful way in me and lead me in the way that lasts forever.

(138-24) и зри, не на опасном ли я пути, и направь меня на путь вечный.
