1 L isten, you rich men! Cry about the troubles that will come to you.

Послушайте вы, богатые: плачьте и рыдайте о бедствиях ваших, находящих на вас.

2 Y our riches are worth nothing. Your fine clothes are full of moth holes.

Богатство ваше сгнило, и одежды ваши изъедены молью.

3 Y our gold and silver have rusted. Their rust will speak against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have saved riches for yourselves for the last days.

Золото ваше и серебро изоржавело, и ржавчина их будет свидетельством против вас и съест плоть вашу, как огонь: вы собрали себе сокровище на последние дни.

4 S ee! The men working in your fields are crying against you because you have kept back part of their pay. Their cries have been heard by the Lord Who hears His people.

Вот, плата, удержанная вами у работников, пожавших поля ваши, вопиет, и вопли жнецов дошли до слуха Господа Саваофа.

5 Y ou have had everything while you lived on the earth and have enjoyed its fun. You have made your hearts fat and are ready to be killed as an animal is killed.

Вы роскошествовали на земле и наслаждались; напитали сердца ваши, как бы на день заклания.

6 Y ou have killed men who are right with God who were not making it hard for you. The Lord Will Come Again

Вы осудили, убили Праведника; Он не противился вам.

7 C hristian brothers, be willing to wait for the Lord to come again. Learn from the farmer. He waits for the good fruit from the earth until the early and late rains come.

Итак, братия, будьте долготерпеливы до пришествия Господня. Вот, земледелец ждет драгоценного плода от земли и для него терпит долго, пока получит дождь ранний и поздний.

8 Y ou must be willing to wait also. Be strong in your hearts because the Lord is coming again soon.

Долготерпите и вы, укрепите сердца ваши, потому что пришествие Господне приближается.

9 D o not complain about each other, Christian brothers. Then you will not be judged. See! The Judge is standing at the door.

Не сетуйте, братия, друг на друга, чтобы не быть осужденными: вот, Судия стоит у дверей.

10 S ee how the early preachers spoke for the Lord by their suffering and by being willing to wait.

В пример злострадания и долготерпения возьмите, братия мои, пророков, которые говорили именем Господним.

11 W e think of those who stayed true to Him as happy even though they suffered. You have heard how long Job waited. You have seen what the Lord did for him in the end. The Lord is full of loving-kindness and pity.

Вот, мы ублажаем тех, которые терпели. Вы слышали о терпении Иова и видели конец от Господа, ибо Господь весьма милосерд и сострадателен.

12 M y Christian brothers, do not swear. Do not use heaven or earth or anything else to swear by. If you mean yes, say yes. If you mean no, say no. You will be guilty for saying anything more. The Power of Prayer in Healing

Прежде же всего, братия мои, не клянитесь ни небом, ни землею, и никакою другою клятвою, но да будет у вас: 'да, да' и 'нет, нет', дабы вам не подпасть осуждению.

13 I s anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone happy? He should sing songs of thanks to God.

Злостраждет ли кто из вас, пусть молится. Весел ли кто, пусть поет псалмы.

14 I s anyone among you sick? He should send for the church leaders and they should pray for him. They should pour oil on him in the name of the Lord.

Болен ли кто из вас, пусть призовет пресвитеров Церкви, и пусть помолятся над ним, помазав его елеем во имя Господне.

15 T he prayer given in faith will heal the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

И молитва веры исцелит болящего, и восставит его Господь; и если он соделал грехи, простятся ему.

16 T ell your sins to each other. And pray for each other so you may be healed. The prayer from the heart of a man right with God has much power.

Признавайтесь друг пред другом в проступках и молитесь друг за друга, чтобы исцелиться: много может усиленная молитва праведного.

17 E lijah was a man as we are. He prayed that it might not rain. It did not rain on the earth for three and one-half years.

Илия был человек, подобный нам, и молитвою помолился, чтобы не было дождя: и не было дождя на землю три года и шесть месяцев.

18 T hen he prayed again that it would rain. It rained much and the fields of the earth gave fruit. Bring Back Those Who Are Lost in Sin

И опять помолился: и небо дало дождь, и земля произрастила плод свой.

19 M y Christian brothers, if any of you should be led away from the truth, let someone turn him back again.

Братия! если кто из вас уклонится от истины, и обратит кто его,

20 T hat person should know that if he turns a sinner from the wrong way, he will save the sinner’s soul from death and many sins will be forgiven.

пусть тот знает, что обративший грешника от ложного пути его спасет душу от смерти и покроет множество грехов.
