1 T hese are the words of the agreement the Lord told Moses to make with the people of Israel in the land of Moab, as well as the agreement He had made with them at Mount Sinai.

Вот слова завета, который Господь повелел Моисею поставить с сынами Израилевыми в земле Моавитской, кроме завета, который Господь поставил с ними на Хориве.

2 M oses called all Israel and said to them, “You have seen all the Lord did in front of you in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh and all his servants and all his land.

И созвал Моисей всех Израилевых и сказал им: вы видели всё, что сделал Господь пред глазами вашими в земле Египетской с фараоном и всеми рабами его и всею землею его;

3 Y ou have seen great tests and powerful works.

те великие казни, которые видели глаза твои, и те великие знамения и чудеса;

4 Y et to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to know, or eyes to see, or ears to hear.

но до сего дня не дал вам Господь сердца, чтобы разуметь, очей, чтобы видеть, и ушей, чтобы слышать.

5 I have led you forty years in the desert. Your clothes did not wear out. And your shoes did not wear out on your feet.

Сорок лет водил вас по пустыне, и одежды ваши на вас не обветшали, и обувь твоя не обветшала на ноге твоей;

6 Y ou did not eat bread, or drink wine or strong drink, so you might know that I am the Lord your God.

хлеба вы не ели и вина и сикера не пили, дабы вы знали, что Я Господь Бог ваш.

7 W hen you came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og the king of Bashan came to meet us to fight. But we won the fight.

И когда пришли вы на место сие, выступил против нас Сигон, царь Есевонский, и Ог, царь Васанский, чтобы сразиться, и мы поразили их;

8 W e took their land and gave it as a gift to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half family group of Manasseh.

и взяли землю их и отдали ее в удел Рувимову и Гадову и половине колена Манассиина.

9 S o be careful to keep the words of this agreement and obey them so all that you do will go well.

Соблюдайте же слова завета сего и исполняйте их, чтобы вам иметь успех во всем, что ни будете делать.

10 “ Today you all stand before the Lord your God, you, your rulers, your families, your leaders, all the men of Israel,

Все вы сегодня стоите пред лицем Господа Бога вашего, начальники колен ваших, старейшины ваши, надзиратели ваши, все Израильтяне,

11 y our children, your wives, the stranger who is among your tents, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who gets your water.

дети ваши, жены ваши и пришельцы твои, находящиеся в стане твоем, от секущего дрова твои до черпающего воду твою,

12 Y ou are here to take part in the agreement with the Lord your God, and in His promise which the Lord your God is making with you today.

чтобы вступить тебе в завет Господа Бога твоего и в клятвенный договор с Ним, который Господь Бог твой сегодня поставляет с тобою,

13 S o today He will make you His people. He will be your God, just as He told you and as He promised your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

дабы соделать тебя сегодня Его народом, и Ему быть тебе Богом, как Он говорил тебе и как клялся отцам твоим Аврааму, Исааку и Иакову.

14 “ I am not making this agreement and this promise with you alone.

Не с вами только одними я поставляю сей завет и сей клятвенный договор,

15 I am making them with those who stand here with us today before the Lord our God, and with those who are not here with us today.

но как с теми, которые сегодня здесь с нами стоят пред лицем Господа Бога нашего, так и с теми, которых нет здесь с нами сегодня.

16 Y ou know how we lived in the land of Egypt, and how we passed through the land of the nations on our way here.

Ибо вы знаете, как мы жили в земле Египетской и как мы проходили посреди народов, чрез которые вы прошли,

17 Y ou have seen their sinful things and their gods of wood, stone, silver and gold, which they had with them.

и видели мерзости их и кумиры их, деревянные и каменные, серебряные и золотые, которые у них.

18 B e careful not to have any man or woman or family or group among you whose heart turns away from the Lord our God today to go and worship the gods of those nations. Do not let there be a root among you giving poison fruit and bad-tasting plants.

Да не будет между вами мужчины или женщины, или рода или колена, которых сердце уклонилось бы ныне от Господа Бога нашего, чтобы ходить служить богам тех народов; да не будет между вами корня, произращающего яд и полынь,

19 W hen one hears the words of this curse, he will say in his pride, ‘I have peace even though I am strong-willed in my heart.’ This will destroy the land that is watered along with the dry land.

такого человека, который, услышав слова проклятия сего, похвалялся бы в сердце своем, говоря: 'я буду счастлив, несмотря на то, что буду ходить по произволу сердца моего'; и пропадет таким образом сытый с голодным;

20 T he Lord will never be willing to forgive him. But the Lord will be jealous and His anger will burn against that man. Every curse written in this book will be upon him. And the Lord will take out his name from under heaven.

не простит Господь такому, но тотчас возгорится гнев Господа и ярость Его на такого человека, и падет на него все проклятие, написанное в сей книге, и изгладит Господь имя его из поднебесной;

21 T he Lord will set him apart for trouble from all the families of Israel, with all the curses of the agreement which are written in this book of the Law.

и отделит его Господь на погибель от всех колен Израилевых, сообразно со всеми проклятиями завета, написанными в сей книге закона.

22 “ The children to come, your sons who grow up after you, and the stranger who comes from a land far away, will see the troubles and diseases the Lord has sent upon the land. And they will say,

И скажет последующий род, дети ваши, которые будут после вас, и чужеземец, который придет из земли дальней, увидев поражение земли сей и болезни, которыми изнурит ее Господь:

23 ‘ The whole land is sulphur and salt, a burning waste, not planted and not giving any plants, and no grass grows in it. It is like Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord destroyed in His anger.’

сера и соль, пожарище--вся земля; не засевается и не произращает она, и не выходит на ней никакой травы, как по истреблении Содома, Гоморры, Адмы и Севоима, которые ниспроверг Господь во гневе Своем и в ярости Своей.

24 A ll the nations will say, ‘Why has the Lord done this to this land? Why was He so angry?’

И скажут все народы: за что Господь так поступил с сею землею? какая великая ярость гнева Его!

25 T hen men will say, ‘It is because they did not keep the agreement of the Lord, the God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.

И скажут: за то, что они оставили завет Господа Бога отцов своих, который Он поставил с ними, когда вывел их из земли Египетской,

26 T hey went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods they had not known and whom He had not given to them.

и пошли и стали служить иным богам и поклоняться им, богам, которых они не знали и Он не назначал им:

27 S o the anger of the Lord burned against that land. Every curse was brought upon it that is written in this book.

возгорелся гнев Господа на землю сию, и навел Он на нее все проклятия, написанные в сей книге;

28 T he Lord drove them from their land in much anger. And He sent them into another land, as it is today.’

и извергнул их Господь из земли их в гневе, ярости и великом негодовании, и поверг их на другую землю, как ныне.

29 “ The secret things belong to the Lord our God. But the things that are made known belong to us and to our children forever, so we may obey all the words of this Law.

Сокрытое Господу Богу нашему, а открытое--нам и сынам нашим до века, чтобы мы исполняли все слова закона сего.
