1 G od having spoken in many parts and in many ways formerly to the fathers in the prophets,

Dios, que muchas veces y de distintas maneras habló en otros tiempos a nuestros padres por medio de los profetas,

2 a t the end of these days has spoken to us in Son, whom he has established heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

en estos días finales nos ha hablado por medio del Hijo, a quien constituyó heredero de todo, y mediante el cual hizo el universo.

3 w ho being effulgence of his glory and expression of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, having made the purification of sins, set himself down on the right hand of the greatness on high,

Él es el resplandor de la gloria de Dios. Es la imagen misma de lo que Dios es. Él es quien sustenta todas las cosas con la palabra de su poder. Después de llevar a cabo la purificación de nuestros pecados por medio de sí mismo, se sentó a la derecha de la Majestad, en las alturas,

4 t aking a place by so much better than the angels, as he inherits a name more excellent than they.

y ha llegado a ser superior a los ángeles, pues ha recibido un nombre más sublime que el de ellos. El Hijo es superior a los ángeles

5 F or to which of the angels said he ever, Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him for father, and he shall be to me for son?

Porque jamás dijo Dios a ninguno de sus ángeles: «Tú eres mi Hijo. Yo te he engendrado hoy.» Ni tampoco: «Yo seré su Padre, y él será mi hijo.»

6 a nd again, when he brings in the firstborn into the habitable world, he says, And let all God's angels worship him.

Además, cuando Dios introduce al Primogénito en el mundo, dice: «Que lo adoren todos los ángeles de Dios.»

7 A nd as to the angels he says, Who makes his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire;

Acerca de los ángeles, dice: «Él hace que sus ángeles sean como vientos, y sus ministros como llamas de fuego.»

8 b ut as to the Son, Thy throne, O God, to the age of the age, and a sceptre of uprightness the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Pero del Hijo dice: «Tu trono, oh Dios, es eterno y para siempre; el cetro de tu reino es un cetro de justicia.

9 T hou hast loved righteousness and hast hated lawlessness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with oil of gladness above thy companions.

Amas la justicia, y odias la maldad. Por eso te ungió Dios, tu Dios, con óleo de alegría más que a tus compañeros.»

10 A nd, Thou in the beginning, Lord, hast founded the earth, and works of thy hands are the heavens.

Y también dice: «Señor, tú fundaste la tierra en el principio, Y los cielos son obra de tus manos.

11 T hey shall perish, but thou continuest still; and they all shall grow old as a garment,

Ellos perecerán, pero tú permaneces para siempre. Todos ellos se desgastarán como un vestido;

12 a nd as a covering shalt thou roll them up, and they shall be changed; but thou art the Same, and thy years shall not fail.

los enrollarás como un manto, y quedarán cambiados; pero tú eres el mismo, Y tus años no tendrán fin.»

13 B ut as to which of the angels said he ever, Sit at my right hand until I put thine enemies footstool of thy feet?

Dios jamás le dijo a ninguno de los ángeles: «Siéntate a mi derecha hasta que ponga a tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies.»

14 A re they not all ministering spirits, sent out for service on account of those who shall inherit salvation?

¿Y acaso no son todos ellos espíritus ministradores, enviados para servir a quienes serán los herederos de la salvación?
