1 A nd king David said to all the congregation, Solomon my son, the one whom God has chosen, is young and tender, and the work is great; for this palace is not to be for man, but for Jehovah Elohim.

El rey David le dijo a toda la asamblea: «Dios ha escogido a mi hijo Salomón, pero él es todavía un niño tierno de edad, y la obra es demasiado grande. Esta casa no es para un hombre, sino para Dios el Señor.

2 A nd I have prepared according to all my power for the house of my God gold for gold, and silver for silver, and brass for brass, iron for iron, and wood for wood; onyx stones, and to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and white marble in abundance.

3 A nd moreover, in my affection for the house of my God I have given of my own property of gold and silver, for the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary:

6 A nd the chief fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and the comptrollers of the king's business, offered willingly.

Los jefes de familia y los jefes de las tribus israelitas, y los jefes de millares y de centenas, lo mismo que los administradores de las propiedades del rey, presentaron sus ofrendas voluntarias.

7 A nd they gave for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, and ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of brass, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.

Para el servicio de la casa de Dios dieron ciento sesenta y cinco mil kilos y diez mil monedas de oro, trescientos treinta mil kilos de plata, seiscientos mil kilos de bronce, y tres millones trescientos mil kilos de hierro.

8 A nd they with whom stones were found gave to the treasure of the house of Jehovah, into the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

Todo el que tenía piedras preciosas las puso en las manos de Yejiel el gersonita para el tesoro de la casa del Señor.

9 A nd the people rejoiced because they offered willingly, for with perfect heart they offered willingly to Jehovah; and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

El pueblo estaba feliz de haber contribuido voluntariamente, pues todo lo que ofrecieron al Señor lo dieron de corazón y de manera voluntaria.

10 A nd David blessed Jehovah in the sight of all the congregation; and David said, Blessed be thou, Jehovah, the God of our father Israel, for ever and ever.

El rey David se alegró mucho y bendijo al Señor delante de toda la congregación. Dijo: «Bendito seas, Señor y Padre nuestro, Dios de Israel, desde el siglo y hasta el siglo.

11 T hine, Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the splendour, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and on the earth is thine: thine, Jehovah, is the kingdom, and thou art exalted as Head above all;

Tuya es, Señor, la magnificencia y el poder, la gloria, la victoria y el honor; pues tuyas son todas las cosas que están en los cielos y en la tierra. Tuyo es, Señor, el reino. ¡Tú eres excelso sobre todas las cosas!

12 a nd riches and glory are of thee, and thou rulest over everything; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make all great and strong.

De ti proceden las riquezas y la gloria. Tú dominas sobre todo. En tu mano están la fuerza y el poder, y en tu mano también está el engrandecer y el dar poder a todos.

13 A nd now, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

Por eso ahora, Dios nuestro, alabamos y loamos tu glorioso nombre.

14 B ut who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer willingly after this manner? for all is of thee, and of that which is from thy hand have we given thee.

»A decir verdad, ¿quién soy yo, y quién es mi pueblo, para poder ofrecerte todo esto, y de manera voluntaria? Todo es tuyo, y lo que ahora te damos lo hemos recibido de tus manos.

15 F or we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no hope.

Nosotros, ante ti, somos unos extranjeros y advenedizos, como lo fueron todos nuestros padres, ¡Nuestros días sobre la tierra son como una sombra pasajera!

16 J ehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house to thy holy name, is of thy hand, and is all thine own.

Señor y Dios nuestro, toda esta abundancia que hemos preparado para edificar casa a tu santo nombre, procede de tu mano, y es todo tuyo.

17 A nd I know, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart have I willingly offered all these things; and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, offer willingly to thee.

Dios mío, yo sé que tú escudriñas los corazones, y que la rectitud te agrada. Por eso yo, con rectitud de mi corazón, te he ofrecido todo esto de manera voluntaria, y con alegría he visto que tu pueblo, reunido aquí y ahora, te ha ofrendado con espontaneidad.

18 J ehovah, God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and direct their hearts to thee!

»Señor, Dios de nuestros padres Abrahán, Isaac e Israel, conserva siempre esta voluntad de corazón de tu pueblo, y encamina a ti su corazón.

19 A nd give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.

Dale a mi hijo Salomón un corazón perfecto, para que cumpla tus mandamientos, tus testimonios y tus estatutos, y para que te edifique la casa y todas las cosas, para las cuales yo he hecho estos preparativos.»

20 A nd David said to all the congregation, Bless now Jehovah your God. And all the congregation blessed Jehovah the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and did homage to Jehovah and the king.

Después de esto, David dijo a toda la congregación: «Bendigan al Señor su Dios.» Entonces toda la congregación bendijo al Señor, Dios de sus padres, y se inclinaron y adoraron delante del Señor y del rey.

21 A nd they sacrificed sacrifices to Jehovah, and offered up burnt-offerings to Jehovah, on the morrow after that day: a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.

Sacrificaron víctimas al Señor, y al día siguiente le ofrecieron holocaustos: mil becerros, mil carneros, mil corderos con sus libaciones, y muchos sacrificios de parte de todo Israel.

22 A nd they ate and drank before Jehovah on that day with great joy. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him to Jehovah to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.

Y ese día comieron y bebieron delante del Señor con gran alegría, y por segunda vez reconocieron como rey a Salomón hijo de David, y ante el Señor lo ungieron como príncipe, y a Sadoc lo ungieron como sacerdote.

23 A nd Solomon sat on the throne of Jehovah as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

Salomón ocupó el trono del Señor en lugar de David su padre, y fue prosperado, y todo Israel le juró obediencia.

24 A nd all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves to Solomon the king.

Todos los jefes y poderosos, y todos los hijos del rey David, rindieron homenaje al rey Salomón,

25 A nd Jehovah magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him royal majesty such as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

y el Señor lo engrandeció en extremo ante todo Israel, y fue tal la gloria de su reino que ningún rey la tuvo antes de él en Israel. Muerte de David

26 N ow David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

27 A nd the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years: he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

cuarenta años. Siete años reinó en Hebrón, y treinta y tres reinó en Jerusalén.

28 A nd he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour; and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

Murió cuando ya era anciano y entrado en años, rodeado de riquezas y de gloria; y en su lugar reinó su hijo Salomón.

29 A nd the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer;

Los hechos del rey David, tanto los primeros como los últimos, están escritos en el libro de las crónicas del vidente Samuel, en las crónicas del profeta Natán, y en las crónicas del vidente Gad,

30 w ith all his reign and his might, and the times that passed over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

con todo lo relativo a su reinado y su poder, y con todo lo que le aconteció a él, y a Israel y a todos los reinos de aquellas tierras.
