1 H e that is a eunuch, whether he have been crushed or cut, shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

»No entrará en la congregación del Señor el que tenga los testículos magullados, ni el que tenga amputado su miembro viril.

2 A bastard shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even his tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

»No entrará en la congregación del Señor ningún hijo de matrimonio mixto, ni siquiera hasta la décima generación.

3 A n Ammonite or Moabite shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even their tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah for ever;

»No entrará jamás en la congregación del Señor ningún amonita ni moabita, ni siquiera hasta la décima generación,

4 b ecause they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor, of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

porque cuando ustedes salieron de Egipto ellos no salieron al camino para recibirlos a ustedes con pan y agua, y porque contrataron a Balaam hijo de Beor, el de Petor en Mesopotamia, para que los maldijera.

5 B ut Jehovah thy God would not listen to Balaam; and Jehovah thy God turned the curse into blessing unto thee, because Jehovah thy God loved thee.

Pero el Señor tu Dios no quiso oír a Balaam sino que, por el amor que el Señor tu Dios te tiene, convirtió la maldición contra ti en bendición.

6 T hou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

Así que nunca jamás procurarás su paz ni su bien.

7 T hou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother. Thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a sojourner in his land.

»No aborrezcas a los edomitas, porque son tus hermanos. »No aborrezcas a los egipcios, porque tú fuiste extranjero en su tierra.

8 C hildren that are born to them shall come into the congregation of Jehovah in the third generation.

»La tercera generación de los hijos que ellos tengan podrán entrar en la congregación del Señor. Leyes sanitarias

9 W hen thou goest forth into camp against thine enemies, then keep thee from every evil thing.

»Cuando salgas a campaña contra tus enemigos, te cuidarás de no incurrir en nada malo.

10 I f there be with thee a man that is not clean from what hath happened in the night, then shall he go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp;

»Si hay en medio de ti alguien que no esté limpio por causa de alguna impureza ocurrida durante la noche, tendrá que salir del campamento y no podrá entrar en él.

11 a nd it shall be, towards evening, he shall bathe in water: and at the going down of the sun he may come inside the camp.

Al caer la noche se lavará con agua, y en cuanto se ponga el sol podrá entrar en el campamento.

12 T hou shalt have a place also outside the camp, and shalt go forth thither.

»Aparta un lugar fuera del campamento, al cual puedas salir.

13 A nd thou shalt have a shovel amongst thy weapons, and it shall be, when thou sittest down abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which is come from thee.

Entre tu equipo debes llevar también una estaca para que, cuando vayas a ese lugar apartado, hagas un hoyo allí y puedas cubrir tu excremento antes de volver.

14 F or Jehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; and thy camp shall be holy, that he see nothing unseemly with thee, and turn away from thee.

Toma en cuenta que el Señor tu Dios anda en medio de tu campamento para librarte y para poner en tus manos a tus enemigos; por lo tanto, tu campamento tiene que ser un lugar santo; de lo contrario, si él ve en ti alguna inmundicia, dejará de acompañarte. Leyes humanitarias

15 T hou shalt not hand over to his master a bondman that hath escaped from his master unto thee:

»Si algún esclavo anda huyendo, no se lo devuelvas a su amo.

16 h e shall dwell with thee, even in thy midst, in the place that he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it seemeth good to him; thou shalt not oppress him.

Pero tampoco lo oprimas. Déjalo vivir entre tu gente, en alguna de tus ciudades que él escoja y en la que él quiera quedarse.

17 T here shall be no prostitute amongst the daughters of Israel, nor any Sodomite amongst the sons of Israel.

»Entre las hijas de Israel no debe haber rameras. »Entre los hijos de Israel no debe haber sodomitas.

18 T hou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God for any vow; for even both these are an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

»No lleves a la casa del Señor tu Dios la paga de una ramera, ni el precio de un perro, para cumplir con un voto. Tanto lo uno como lo otro son cosas que le repugnan al Señor tu Dios.

19 T hou shalt take no interest of thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of anything that can be lent upon interest:

»No impongas intereses a tu hermano por el dinero, o comestibles, o cualquier otra cosa que le prestes, y por lo que se acostumbra cobrar interés.

20 o f a foreigner thou mayest take interest, but of thy brother thou shalt not take interest; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the business of thy hand in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Para que el Señor tu Dios te bendiga en todo lo que hagas en la tierra de la que vas a tomar posesión, podrás cobrarle intereses al extraño, pero no a tu hermano.

21 W hen thou vowest a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou shalt not delay to perform it; for Jehovah thy God will certainly require it of thee, and it shall be sin in thee.

»Cuando hagas un voto al Señor tu Dios, no tardes en cumplirlo, porque ciertamente el Señor tu Dios te exigirá que lo cumplas, y cometerás un pecado si no lo cumples.

22 B ut if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

Aunque no cometerás ningún pecado si te abstienes de prometer,

23 W hat is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and do, as thou hast vowed to Jehovah thy God, the voluntary-offering that thou hast promised with thy mouth.

toda promesa que salga de tus labios deberás cumplirla. Tal y como lo prometiste al Señor tu Dios, cumplirás con la ofrenda voluntaria que hiciste con tu propia boca.

24 W hen thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes thy fill, according to thy desire, but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

»Si entras en la viña de tu prójimo, podrás comer uvas hasta saciarte, pero no podrás llenar tu cesto.

25 W hen thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but thou shalt not wave the sickle against thy neighbour's standing corn.

»Si entras en el trigal de tu prójimo, podrás arrancar espigas con la mano, pero no podrás meter la hoz para segar las espigas de tu prójimo.
