1 Y ahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,

І Господь промовляв до Мойсея та до Аарона, говорячи їм:

2 “ Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.

Промовляйте до Ізраїлевих синів, кажучи: Оце та звірина, що будете їсти зо всієї худоби, що на землі:

3 W hatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews the cud among the animals, that you may eat.

Кожну з худоби, що має розділені копита, і що має копита роздвоєні розривом, що жує жуйку, її будете їсти.

4 “ ‘Nevertheless these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof: the camel, because he chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.

Тільки цього не будете їсти з тих, що жують жуйку, і з тих, що мають розділені копита: верблюда, бо він жує жуйку, та розділених копит не має, нечистий він для вас.

5 T he cony, because he chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, he is unclean to you.

І тушканчика, бо він жує жуйку, та не має розділених копит, нечистий він для вас.

6 T he hare, because she chews the cud but doesn’t part the hoof, she is unclean to you.

І зайця, бо він жує жуйку, та не має розділених копит, нечистий він для вас.

7 T he pig, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn’t chew the cud, he is unclean to you.

І свині, бо вона має розділені ратиці, і має ратиці роздвоєні розривом, та жуйки не жує, нечиста вона для вас.

8 O f their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are unclean to you.

Їхнього м'яса не будете їсти, а до їхнього падла не будете доторкатися, нечисте воно для вас.

9 “ ‘These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.

Оце будете їсти зо всього, що в воді: усе, що має плавці та луску в воді, у морях та в річках, їх будете їсти.

10 A ll that don’t have fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you,

А все, що не має плавців та луски в морях і в річках, зо всього, що роїться в воді, і зо всього, що пливає в воді, гидота вони для вас!

11 a nd you detest them. You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses.

І вони будуть гидота для вас, їхнього м'яса не будете їсти, а їхнього падла будете бридитися.

12 W hatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you.

Усе, що не має плавців та луски в воді, гидота воно для вас.

13 “ ‘These you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the vulture, and the black vulture,

А з птаства будете бридитися оцього, не будете їх їсти, гидота вони: орла, грифа й морського орла,

14 a nd the red kite, any kind of black kite,

і коршака, і сокола за родом його,

15 a ny kind of raven,

усякого крука за родом його,

16 t he horned owl, the screech owl, and the gull, any kind of hawk,

і струся, і сови, і яструба за родом його,

17 t he little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,

і пугача, і рибалки, та ібіса,

18 t he white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,

і лебедя, і пелікана, і сича,

19 t he stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.

і бусла, чаплі за родом її, і одуда, і нетопира.

20 “ ‘All flying insects that walk on all fours are an abomination to you.

Уся комашня, що ходить на чотирьох, гидота вона для вас.

21 Y et you may eat these: of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above their feet, with which to hop on the earth.

Тільки те будете їсти зо всієї комашні, що ходить на чотирьох, що має голінки вище своїх ніг, щоб ними скакати на землі.

22 E ven of these you may eat: any kind of locust, any kind of katydid, any kind of cricket, and any kind of grasshopper.

Оці серед них будете їсти: сарану за родом її, і сол'ам за родом його, і харґол за родом його, і хаґав за родом його.

23 B ut all winged creeping things which have four feet, are an abomination to you.

А вся гадина летюча, що має чотири ноги, гидота вона для вас.

24 “ ‘By these you will become unclean: whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.

І через них ви будете ставати нечисті: кожен, хто доторкнеться до їхнього падла, буде нечистий аж до вечора.

25 W hoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.

А кожен, хто понесе що з їхнього падла, випере одежу свою, і буде нечистий аж до вечора.

26 “ ‘Every animal which parts the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor chews the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean.

Щодо всякої худоби, що має розділене копито, і що не має роздвоєного розривом копита, і жуйки не жує, нечисті вони для вас. Кожен, хто доторкнеться до них, буде нечистий.

27 W hatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.

А кожне серед усякої звірини, що ходить на лапах своїх, що ходить на чотирьох, нечисті вони для вас. Кожен, хто доторкнеться до їхнього падла, буде нечистий аж до вечора.

28 H e who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.

А хто носить їхнє падло, випере одежу свою, і буде нечистий аж до вечора. Нечисті вони для вас.

29 “ ‘These are they which are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard,

А оце вам нечисте серед плазунів, що плазують по землі: кріт, і миша, і ящірка за родом її,

30 t he gecko, and the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.

і ховрах, і щур, і слимак, і їжак, і тхір.

31 T hese are they which are unclean to you among all that creep. Whoever touches them when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening.

Оці нечисті для вас серед усього плазуючого. Кожен, хто доторкнеться до них, коли вони мертві, буде нечистий аж до вечора.

32 O n whatever any of them falls when they are dead, it shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it will be clean.

І все, що впаде на нього, коли вони мертві, буде нечисте, кожна річ, з дерева, або з одежі, або зо шкури, або з грубої тканини, кожна річ, що вживається до праці, в воду треба покласти їх, і будуть нечисті аж до вечора, а потому стануть чистими.

33 E very earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it.

А всякий глиняний посуд, що з них упаде що до його середини, усе, що в середині його, стане нечисте, а його розіб'єте.

34 A ll food which may be eaten, that on which water comes, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.

Кожна їжа, що їсться, на якій була вода з такого посуду, буде нечиста; а кожен напій, що п'ється, у кожнім такім посуді стане нечистим.

35 E verything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.

І все, що на нього впаде з їхнього падла, стане нечисте: піч та огнище буде розвалене, вони нечисті, і нечисті будуть для вас.

36 N evertheless a spring or a cistern in which water is gathered shall be clean: but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean.

Тільки джерело та яма, збір води, будуть чисті. А хто доторкнеться до їхнього падла, буде нечистий.

37 I f part of their carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.

А коли що впаде з їхнього падла на всяке насіння сівби, що сіється, чисте воно.

38 B ut if water is put on the seed, and part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.

А коли буде налита вода на насіння, і впаде на нього з їхнього падла, нечисте воно для вас.

39 “ ‘If any animal, of which you may eat, dies; he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening.

А коли помре що з худоби, що вона на їжу для вас, то хто доторкнеться падла її, той буде нечистий аж до вечора.

40 H e who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.

А хто їсть із падла її, той випере одежу свою, і буде нечистий аж до вечора. І хто носить падло її, той випере одежу свою, і буде нечистий аж до вечора.

41 “ ‘Every creeping thing that creeps on the earth is an abomination. It shall not be eaten.

А все плазуюче, що плазує по землі, гидота воно, не буде їстися.

42 W hatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creeping things that creep on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.

Усе, що повзає на животі, і все, що повзає на чотирьох, аж до всього, що багатоножне, усе плазуюче, що плазує по землі, не будете їх їсти, бо гидота вони.

43 Y ou shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps. You shall not make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled thereby.

Не занечищуйте душ своїх усім плазуючим, що плазує, і не зробитеся нечисті ними, і не станете нечисті ними.

44 F or I am Yahweh your God. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy. You shall not defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing that moves on the earth.

Бо Я Господь, Бог ваш, і ви освятитеся, і будьте святі, бо святий Я, і не занечищуйте душ своїх усяким плазуючим, що плазує по землі.

45 F or I am Yahweh who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Бо Я Господь, що вивів вас із єгипетського краю, щоб бути для вас Богом. І будьте святі, бо святий Я.

46 “ ‘This is the law of the animal, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth,

Оце закон про худобу, і про птаство, і про всяку живу звірину, що рухається в воді, і про всяку душу, що плазує по землі,

47 t o make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.’”

щоб відділювати між нечистим та між чистим, і між звіриною, що їсться, та між звіриною, що не їсться.
