1 Y ahweh’s word came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

І було Господнє слово до Єгу, Хананієвого сина, про Башу, говорячи:

2 “ Because I exalted you out of the dust, and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;

Тому, що Я підніс тебе з пороху, і настановив тебе володарем над Моїм народом, Ізраїлем, а ти пішов Єровоамовою дорогою та вводив у гріх народ Мій, Ізраїля, щоб гнівити Мене гріхами їх,

3 b ehold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

то ось Я вигублю по Баші та по домі його, зроблю твій дім, як дім Єровоама, Неватового сина.

4 T he dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field, the birds of the sky will eat.”

Померлого в Баші в місті з'їдять пси, а померлого йому на полі, поїсть птаство небесне.

5 N ow the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

А решта діл Баші, і що він зробив був, і лицарськість його, ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Ізраїлевих царів.

6 B aasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.

І спочив Баша зо своїми батьками, і був похований в Тірці, а замість нього зацарював син його Ела.

7 M oreover Yahweh’s word came by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him.

І було слово Господнє через пророка Єгу, сина Хананієвого, до Баші та до дому його, а то через усе те зло, що коїв він у Господніх очах, щоб гнівити Його чином своїх рук, щоб бути, як Єровоамів дім, що Він побив його.

8 I n the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.

Двадцять і шостого року Аси, царя Юдиного, зацарював Ела, Башин син, над Ізраїлем у Тірці, на два роки.

9 H is servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah;

І змовився на нього його раб Зімрі, провідник половини колесниць. І коли він, п'яний, пив у домі Арци, що був над його домом у Тірці,

10 a nd Zimri went in and struck him, and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.

то прийшов Зімрі й убив його, і вбив його в двадцятому й сьомому році Аси, царя Юдиного, та й зацарював замість нього.

11 W hen he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he attacked all the house of Baasha. He didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall among his relatives or his friends.

І сталося, як він зацарював та сів на його троні, то він вибив увесь Башин дім, не позоставив навіть того, що мочить на стіну, ані рідних його, ані друзів його.

12 T hus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,

І вигубив Зімрі ввесь Башин дім, за словом Господа, що промовляв був до Баші через пророка Єгу,

13 f or all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

за всі гріхи Баші та гріхи Елі, його сина, що грішили самі, і що вводили в гріх Ізраїля, щоб гнівити Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого, своїми гидотами.

14 N ow the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

А решта діл Елі та все, що він робив, ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Ізраїлевих царів.

15 I n the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

У році двадцятому й сьомому Аси, царя Юдиного, зацарював Зімрі в Тірці на сім день, коли народ облягав филистимський Ґіббетон.

16 T he people who were encamped heard that Zimri had conspired, and had also killed the king. Therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

І прочув народ, що облягав, таке: Змовився Зімрі та й убив царя! І ввесь Ізраїль настановив царем над Ізраїлем Омрі, провідника війська, того дня в таборі.

17 O mri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

І піднялися Омрі та ввесь Ізраїль із ним із Ґіббетону, і облягли Тірцу.

18 W hen Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the fortified part of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,

І сталося, як побачив Зімрі, що місто здобуте, то ввійшов до палацу царевого дому, та й спалив над собою царський дім огнем, і помер

19 f or his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.

за гріх свій, що грішив ним, щоб робити зло в Господніх очах, щоб ходити дорогою Єровоама та в гріху його, який він чинив, щоб вводити в гріх Ізраїля.

20 N ow the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he committed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

А решта діл Зімрі та змова його, що вчинив був, ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Ізраїлевих царів.

21 T hen the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.

Тоді Ізраїлів народ поділився пополовині: половина народу була за Тівні, Ґінатового сина, щоб настановити його царем, а половина за Омрі.

22 B ut the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath; so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

Та був сильніший народ, що стояв за Омрі, від народу, що був за Тівні, Ґінатового сина. І помер Тівні, а зацарював Омрі.

23 I n the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel for twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.

У році тридцятому й першому Аси, царя Юдиного, над Ізраїлем зацарював на дванадцять літ Омрі. У Тірці царював він шість років.

24 H e bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built Samaria, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill.

І купив він від Шемера гору Шомерон за два таланти срібла, і забудував гору, і назвав ім'я міста, яке збудував, іменем пана тієї гори: Шомерон.

25 O mri did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.

І робив Омрі зло в Господніх очах, і чинив зло більше від усіх, хто був перед ним.

26 F or he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

І ходив він усією дорогою Єровоама, сина Неватового, та в гріхах його, якими вводив у гріх Ізраїля, щоб гнівити Господа, Бога Ізраїля, гидотами своїми.

27 N ow the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

А решта діл Омрі, що робив він, та лицарськість його, яку він чинив був, ото вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Ізраїлевих царів.

28 S o Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.

І спочив Омрі з своїми батьками, і був похований у Самарії. А замість нього зацарював його син Ахав.

29 I n the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel. Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

Ахав, син Омрі, зацарював над Ізраїлем у році тридцятому й восьмому Аси, царя Юдиного. І царював Ахав, син Омрі, над Ізраїлем у Самарії двадцять і два роки.

30 A hab the son of Omri did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight above all that were before him.

І робив Ахав, син Омрі, зло в Господніх очах більше від усіх, хто був перед ним.

31 A s if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.

І було йому мало ходити в гріхах Єровоама, Неватового сина, і він узяв за жінку Єзавель, дочку Етбаала, сидонського царя. І він пішов, і служив Ваалові, і вклонявся йому.

32 H e raised up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

І він поставив жертівника для Ваала в Вааловому домі, якого збудував у Шомероні.

33 A hab made the Asherah; and Ahab did more yet to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

І зробив Ахав Астарту. І Ахав далі чинив, щоб гнівити Господа, Бога Ізраїлевого, більше від усіх Ізраїлевих царів, що були перед ним.

34 I n his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho. He laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.

За його днів Хіїл з Бет-Елу відбудував Єрихона, на перворіднім своїм Авірамові він заклав його фундаменти, а на наймолодшім своїм Сеґівові повставляв брами його, за словом Господа, що говорив через Ісуса, Навинового сина.
