1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 M y soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.

3 O h, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.

Engrandeci ao Senhor comigo, e juntos exaltemos o seu nome.

4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

Busquei ao Senhor, e ele me respondeu, e de todos os meus temores me livrou.

5 T hey looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.

Olhai para ele, e sede iluminados; e os vossos rostos jamais serão confundidos.

6 T his poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

Clamou este pobre, e o Senhor o ouviu, e o livrou de todas as suas angústias.

7 T he angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

O anjo do Senhor acampa-se ao redor dos que o temem, e os livra.

8 O h, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Provai, e vede que o Senhor é bom; bem-aventurado o homem que nele se refugia.

9 O h, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.

Temei ao Senhor, vós, seus santos, porque nada falta aos que o temem.

10 T he young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

Os leõezinhos necessitam e sofrem fome, mas

11 C ome, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Vinde, filhos, ouvi-me; eu vos ensinarei o temor do Senhor.

12 W ho is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good?

Quem é o homem que deseja a vida, e quer longos dias para ver o bem?

13 K eep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.

Guarda a tua língua do mal, e os teus lábios de falarem dolosamente.

14 D epart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.

Aparta-te do mal, e faze o bem: busca a paz, e segue-a.

15 T he eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.

Os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os justos, e os seus ouvidos atentos ao seu clamor.

16 T he face of the Lord is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

A face do Senhor está contra os que fazem o mal, para desarraigar da terra a memória deles.

17 T he righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.

Os justos clama, e o Senhor os ouve, e os livra de todas as suas angústias.

18 T he Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Perto está o Senhor dos que têm o coração quebrantado, e salva os contritos de espírito.

19 M any are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Muitas são as aflições do justo, mas de todas elas o Senhor o livra.

20 H e guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.

Ele lhe preserva todos os ossos; nem sequer um deles se quebra.

21 E vil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.

A malícia matará o ímpio, e os que odeiam o justo serão condenados.

22 T he Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

O Senhor resgata a alma dos seus servos, e nenhum dos que nele se refugiam será condenado.
