1 N ow Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Então Salomão começou a edificar a casa do Senhor em Jerusalém, no monte Moriá, onde o Senhor aparecera a Davi, seu pai, no lugar que Davi tinha preparado na eira de Ornã, o jebuseu.

2 A nd he began to build on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.

Começou a edificar no segundo dia do segundo mês, no quarto ano do seu reinado.

3 T his is the foundation which Solomon laid for building the house of God: The length was sixty cubits (by cubits according to the former measure) and the width twenty cubits.

Estes foram os fundamentos que Salomão pôs para edificar a casa de Deus. O comprimento em côvados, segundo a primitiva medida, era de sessenta côvados, e a largura de vinte côvados:

4 A nd the vestibule that was in front of the sanctuary was twenty cubits long across the width of the house, and the height was one hundred and twenty. He overlaid the inside with pure gold.

O pórtico que estava na frente tinha vinte côvados de comprimento, correspondendo ã largura da casa, e a altura era de cento e vinte; e por dentro o revestiu de ouro puro.

5 T he larger room he paneled with cypress which he overlaid with fine gold, and he carved palm trees and chainwork on it.

A câmara maior forrou com madeira de cipreste e a cobriu de ouro fino, no qual gravou palmas e cadeias.

6 A nd he decorated the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was gold from Parvaim.

Para ornamento guarneceu a câmara de pedras preciosas; e o ouro era ouro de Parvaim.

7 H e also overlaid the house—the beams and doorposts, its walls and doors—with gold; and he carved cherubim on the walls.

Também revestiu de ouro as traves e os umbrais, bem como as paredes e portas da câmara, e lavrou querubins nas paredes.

8 A nd he made the Most Holy Place. Its length was according to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits. He overlaid it with six hundred talents of fine gold.

Fez também a câmara santíssima, cujo comprimento era de vinte côvados, correspondendo ã largura da casa, e a sua largura era de vinte côvados; e a revestiu de ouro fino, do peso de seiscentos talentos.

9 T he weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold; and he overlaid the upper area with gold.

O peso dos pregos era de cinqüenta siclos de ouro. Também revestiu de ouro os cenáculos.

10 I n the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim, fashioned by carving, and overlaid them with gold.

Também fez na câmara santíssima dois querubins de madeira, e os cobriu de ouro.

11 T he wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits in overall length: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub;

As asas dos querubins tinham vinte côvados de comprimento: uma asa de um deles, tendo cinco côvados, tocava na parede da casa, e a outra asa, tendo também cinco côvados, tocava na asa do outro querubim;

12 o ne wing of the other cherub was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing also was five cubits, touching the wing of the other cherub.

também a asa deste querubim, tendo cinco côvados, tocava na parede da casa, e a outra asa, tendo igualmente cinco côvados, estava unida ã asa do primeiro querubim.

13 T he wings of these cherubim spanned twenty cubits overall. They stood on their feet, and they faced inward.

Assim as asas destes querubins se estendiam por vinte côvados; eles estavam postos em pé, com os rostos virados para â camara.

14 A nd he made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and wove cherubim into it.

Também fez o véu de azul, púrpura, carmesim e linho fino; e fez bordar nele querubins.

15 A lso he made in front of the temple two pillars thirty-five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

Diante da casa fez duas colunas de trinta e cinco côvados de altura; e o capitel que estava sobre cada uma era de cinco côvados.

16 H e made wreaths of chainwork, as in the inner sanctuary, and put them on top of the pillars; and he made one hundred pomegranates, and put them on the wreaths of chainwork.

Também fez cadeias no oráculo, e as pôs sobre o alto das colunas; fez também cem romãs, as quais pôs nas cadeias.

17 T hen he set up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand and the other on the left; he called the name of the one on the right hand Jachin, and the name of the one on the left Boaz.

E levantou as colunas diante do templo, uma ã direita, e outra ã esquerda; e chamou o nome da que estava ã direita Jaquim, e o nome da que estava ã esquerda Boaz.
