3 B lessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o qual nos abençoou com todas as bênçãos espirituais nas regiões celestes em Cristo;

4 j ust as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

como também nos elegeu nele antes da fundação do mundo, para sermos santos e irrepreensíveis diante dele em amor;

5 h aving predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

e nos predestinou para sermos filhos de adoção por Jesus Cristo, para si mesmo, segundo o beneplácito de sua vontade,

6 t o the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

para o louvor da glória da sua graça, a qual nos deu gratuitamente no Amado;

7 I n Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

em quem temos a redenção pelo seu sangue, a redenção dos nossos delitos, segundo as riquezas da sua graça,

8 w hich He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

9 h aving made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,

10 t hat in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.

para a dispensação da plenitude dos tempos, de fazer convergir em Cristo todas as coisas, tanto as que estão nos céus como as que estão na terra,

11 I n Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

nele, digo, no qual também fomos feitos herança, havendo sido predestinados conforme o propósito daquele que faz todas as coisas segundo o conselho da sua vontade,

12 t hat we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

com o fim de sermos para o louvor da sua glória, nós, os que antes havíamos esperado em Cristo;

13 I n Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

no qual também vós, tendo ouvido a palavra da verdade, o evangelho da vossa salvação, e tendo nele também crido, fostes selados com o Espírito Santo da promessa,

14 w ho is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom

o qual é o penhor da nossa herança, para redenção da possessão de Deus, para o louvor da sua glória.

15 T herefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,

Por isso também eu, tendo ouvido falar da fé que entre vós há no Senhor Jesus e do vosso amor para com todos os santos,

16 d o not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:

não cesso de dar graças por vós, lembrando-me de vós nas minhas orações,

17 t hat the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,

para que o Deus de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o Pai da glória, vos dê o espírito de sabedoria e de revelação no pleno conhecimento dele;

18 t he eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

sendo iluminados os olhos do vosso coração, para que saibais qual seja a esperança da sua vocação, e quais as riquezas da glória da sua herança nos santos,

19 a nd what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

e qual a suprema grandeza do seu poder para conosco, os que cremos, segundo a operação da força do seu poder,

20 w hich He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

que operou em Cristo, ressuscitando-o dentre os mortos e fazendo-o sentar-se ã sua direita nos céus,

21 f ar above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.

muito acima de todo principado, e autoridade, e poder, e domínio, e de todo nome que se nomeia, não só neste século, mas também no vindouro;

22 A nd He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,

e sujeitou todas as coisas debaixo dos seus pés, e para ser cabeça sobre todas as coisas o deu ã igreja,

23 w hich is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

que é o seu corpo, o complemento daquele que cumpre tudo em todas as coisas.
