1 P ortanto, já que vocês ressuscitaram com Cristo, procurem as coisas que são do alto, onde Cristo está assentado à direita de Deus.

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

2 M antenham o pensamento nas coisas do alto, e não nas coisas terrenas.

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 P ois vocês morreram, e agora a sua vida está escondida com Cristo em Deus.

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

4 Q uando Cristo, que é a sua vida, for manifestado, então vocês também serão manifestados com ele em glória.

When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

5 A ssim, façam morrer tudo o que pertence à natureza terrena de vocês: imoralidade sexual, impureza, paixão, desejos maus e a ganância, que é idolatria.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

6 É por causa dessas coisas que vem a ira de Deus sobre os que vivem na desobediência,

Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,

7 a s quais vocês praticaram no passado, quando costumavam viver nelas.

in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

8 M as agora, abandonem todas estas coisas: ira, indignação, maldade, maledicência e linguagem indecente no falar.

But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

9 N ão mintam uns aos outros, visto que vocês já se despiram do velho homem com suas práticas

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

10 e se revestiram do novo, o qual está sendo renovado em conhecimento, à imagem do seu Criador.

and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

11 N essa nova vida já não há diferença entre grego e judeu, circunciso e incircunciso, bárbaro e cita, escravo e livre, mas Cristo é tudo e está em todos.

where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Character of the New Man

12 P ortanto, como povo escolhido de Deus, santo e amado, revistam-se de profunda compaixão, bondade, humildade, mansidão e paciência.

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

13 S uportem-se uns aos outros e perdoem as queixas que tiverem uns contra os outros. Perdoem como o Senhor lhes perdoou.

bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

14 A cima de tudo, porém, revistam-se do amor, que é o elo perfeito.

But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

15 Q ue a paz de Cristo seja o juiz em seu coração, visto que vocês foram chamados para viver em paz, como membros de um só corpo. E sejam agradecidos.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

16 H abite ricamente em vocês a palavra de Cristo; ensinem e aconselhem-se uns aos outros com toda a sabedoria, e cantem salmos, hinos e cânticos espirituais com gratidão a Deus em seu coração.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 T udo o que fizerem, seja em palavra ou em ação, façam-no em nome do Senhor Jesus, dando por meio dele graças a Deus Pai. Responsabilidade Social

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. The Christian Home

18 M ulheres, sujeite-se cada uma a seu marido, como convém a quem está no Senhor.

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

19 M aridos, ame cada um a sua mulher e não a tratem com amargura.

Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.

20 F ilhos, obedeçam a seus pais em tudo, pois isso agrada ao Senhor.

Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.

21 P ais, não irritem seus filhos, para que eles não desanimem.

Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

22 E scravos, obedeçam em tudo a seus senhores terrenos, não somente para agradá-los quando eles estão observando, mas com sinceridade de coração, pelo fato de vocês temerem o Senhor.

Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.

23 T udo o que fizerem, façam de todo o coração, como para o Senhor, e não para os homens,

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,

24 s abendo que receberão do Senhor a recompensa da herança. É a Cristo, o Senhor, que vocês estão servindo.

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

25 Q uem cometer injustiça receberá de volta injustiça, e não haverá exceção para ninguém.

But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.
