1 C hamando seus doze discípulos, deu-lhes autoridade para expulsar espíritos imundos e curar todas as doenças e enfermidades.

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

2 E stes são os nomes dos doze apóstolos: primeiro, Simão, chamado Pedro, e André, seu irmão; Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e João, seu irmão;

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

3 F ilipe e Bartolomeu; Tomé e Mateus, o publicano; Tiago, filho de Alfeu, e Tadeu;

Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

4 S imão, o zelote, e Judas Iscariotes, que o traiu.

Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. Sending Out the Twelve

5 J esus enviou os doze com as seguintes instruções: “Não se dirijam aos gentios, nem entrem em cidade alguma dos samaritanos.

These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.

6 A ntes, dirijam-se às ovelhas perdidas de Israel.

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 P or onde forem, preguem esta mensagem: O Reino dos céus está próximo.

And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

8 C urem os enfermos, ressuscitem os mortos, purifiquem os leprosos, expulsem os demônios. Vocês receberam de graça; dêem também de graça.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

9 N ão levem nem ouro, nem prata, nem cobre em seus cintos;

Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts,

10 n ão levem nenhum saco de viagem, nem túnica extra, nem sandálias, nem bordão; pois o trabalhador é digno do seu sustento.

nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food.

11 “ Na cidade ou povoado em que entrarem, procurem alguém digno de recebê-los, e fiquem em sua casa até partirem.

“Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out.

12 A o entrarem na casa, saúdem-na.

And when you go into a household, greet it.

13 S e a casa for digna, que a paz de vocês repouse sobre ela; se não for, que a paz retorne para vocês.

If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.

14 S e alguém não os receber nem ouvir suas palavras, sacudam a poeira dos pés quando saírem daquela casa ou cidade.

And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

15 E u lhes digo a verdade: No dia do juízo haverá menor rigor para Sodoma e Gomorra do que para aquela cidade.

Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city! Persecutions Are Coming

16 E u os estou enviando como ovelhas entre lobos. Portanto, sejam astutos como as serpentes e sem malícia como as pombas.

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

17 “ Tenham cuidado, pois os homens os entregarão aos tribunais e os açoitarão nas sinagogas deles.

But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues.

18 P or minha causa vocês serão levados à presença de governadores e reis como testemunhas a eles e aos gentios.

You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

19 M as quando os prenderem, não se preocupem quanto ao que dizer, ou como dizê-lo. Naquela hora lhes será dado o que dizer,

But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;

20 p ois não serão vocês que estarão falando, mas o Espírito do Pai de vocês falará por intermédio de vocês.

for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

21 “ O irmão entregará à morte o seu irmão, e o pai, o seu filho; filhos se rebelarão contra seus pais e os matarão.

“Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

22 T odos odiarão vocês por minha causa, mas aquele que perseverar até o fim será salvo.

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

23 Q uando forem perseguidos num lugar, fujam para outro. Eu lhes garanto que vocês não terão percorrido todas as cidades de Israel antes que venha o Filho do homem.

When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

24 “ O discípulo não está acima do seu mestre, nem o servo acima do seu senhor.

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.

25 B asta ao discípulo ser como o seu mestre, e ao servo, como o seu senhor. Se o dono da casa foi chamado Belzebu, quanto mais os membros da sua família!

It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!

26 “ Portanto, não tenham medo deles. Não há nada escondido que não venha a ser revelado, nem oculto que não venha a se tornar conhecido.

Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. Jesus Teaches the Fear of God

27 O que eu lhes digo na escuridão, falem à luz do dia; o que é sussurrado em seus ouvidos, proclamem dos telhados.

“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.

28 N ão tenham medo dos que matam o corpo, mas não podem matar a alma. Antes, tenham medo daquele que pode destruir tanto a alma como o corpo no inferno.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

29 N ão se vendem dois pardais por uma moedinha ? Contudo, nenhum deles cai no chão sem o consentimento do Pai de vocês.

Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.

30 A té os cabelos da cabeça de vocês estão todos contados.

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31 P ortanto, não tenham medo; vocês valem mais do que muitos pardais!

Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Confess Christ Before Men

32 “ Quem, pois, me confessar diante dos homens, eu também o confessarei diante do meu Pai que está nos céus.

“Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.

33 M as aquele que me negar diante dos homens, eu também o negarei diante do meu Pai que está nos céus.

But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Christ Brings Division

34 “ Não pensem que vim trazer paz à terra; não vim trazer paz, mas espada.

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.

35 P ois eu vim para fazer que “‘o homem fique contra seu pai, a filha contra sua mãe, a nora contra sua sogra;

For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;

36 o s inimigos do homem serão os da sua própria família’.

and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’

37 “ Quem ama seu pai ou sua mãe mais do que a mim não é digno de mim; quem ama seu filho ou sua filha mais do que a mim não é digno de mim;

He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

38 e quem não toma a sua cruz e não me segue, não é digno de mim.

And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

39 Q uem acha a sua vida a perderá, e quem perde a sua vida por minha causa a encontrará.

He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. A Cup of Cold Water

40 “ Quem recebe vocês, recebe a mim; e quem me recebe, recebe aquele que me enviou.

“He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

41 Q uem recebe um profeta, porque ele é profeta, receberá a recompensa de profeta, e quem recebe um justo, porque ele é justo, receberá a recompensa de justo.

He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

42 E se alguém der mesmo que seja apenas um copo de água fria a um destes pequeninos, porque ele é meu discípulo, eu lhes asseguro que não perderá a sua recompensa”.

And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”
