1 И звикай сега; има ли някой да ти отговори? И към кого от святите духове ще се обърнеш?

Call now; is there any that will answer thee? And to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn?

2 Н аистина гневът убива безумния и негодуването умъртвява глупавия.

For vexation killeth the foolish man, And jealousy slayeth the silly one.

3 А з съм виждал безумния, като се е вкоренявал; но веднага съм проклинал обиталището му;

I have seen the foolish taking root: But suddenly I cursed his habitation.

4 з ащото децата му са далеч от безопасност; съкрушават ги по съдилищата и няма кой да ги отърве;

His children are far from safety, And they are crushed in the gate, Neither is there any to deliver them:

5 г ладният изяжда жътвата им, граби я даже отсред тръните; и грабителят поглъща имота им.

Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, And taketh it even out of the thorns; And the snare gapeth for their substance.

6 З ащото скръбта не излиза от пръстта, нито печалта пониква от земята;

For affliction cometh not forth from the dust, Neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;

7 а човек се ражда за печал, както искриците, за да хвърчат високо. Увещание за обръщане към Бога

But man is born unto trouble, As the sparks fly upward.

8 Н о аз ще потърся Бога и делото си ще възложа на Бога,

But as for me, I would seek unto God, And unto God would I commit my cause;

9 К ойто върши велики и неизследими дела и безбройни чудеса,

Who doeth great things and unsearchable, Marvellous things without number:

10 К ойто дава дъжд по лицето на земята и праща води по нивите,

Who giveth rain upon the earth, And sendeth waters upon the fields;

11 К ойто възвисява смирените и въздига в безопасност нажалените,

So that he setteth up on high those that are low, And those that mourn are exalted to safety.

12 К ойто осуетява кроежите на хитрите, така че ръцете им не могат да извършат предприетото,

He frustrateth the devices of the crafty, So that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.

13 К ойто улавя мъдрите в лукавството им, така че намисленото от коварните се осуетява.

He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; And the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.

14 Д енем посрещат тъмнина и по пладне ходят пипнешком, както нощем.

They meet with darkness in the day-time, And grope at noonday as in the night.

15 Н о Бог избавя сиромаха от меча, който е устата им, и от ръката на силния;

But he saveth from the sword of their mouth, Even the needy from the hand of the mighty.

16 и така сиромахът има надежда, а устата на беззаконието се запушват.

So the poor hath hope, And iniquity stoppeth her mouth.

17 Е то, блажен е онзи човек, когото Бог изобличава; затова не презирай наказанието от Всемогъщия;

Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: Therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.

18 з ащото Той наранява, Той и превързва; поразява и Неговите ръце изцеляват.

For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; He woundeth, and his hands make whole.

19 В шест беди ще те избави; дори в седмата няма да те досегне зло.

He will deliver thee in six troubles; Yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

20 В глад ще те откупи от смърт и във война - от силата на меча.

In famine he will redeem thee from death; And in war from the power of the sword.

21 О т бича на език ще бъдеш опазен и няма да се уплашиш от погибел, когато дойде.

Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue; Neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.

22 Н а погибелта и на глада ще се присмиваш и няма да се уплашиш от земните зверове;

At destruction and dearth thou shalt laugh; Neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

23 з ащото ще имаш спогодба с камъните на полето; и дивите зверове ще бъдат в мир с теб.

For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field; And the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

24 И ще познаеш, че шатърът ти е в мир; и когато посетиш кошарата си, няма да намериш да ти липсва нещо.

And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; And thou shalt visit thy fold, and shalt miss nothing.

25 Щ е познаеш още, че е многобройно твоето потомство и рожбите ти - като земната трева.

Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, And thine offspring as the grass of the earth.

26 В дълбока старост ще дойдеш до гроба си, както се събира житен сноп на времето си.

Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, Like as a shock of grain cometh in in its season.

27 Е то, това издирихме; така е; слушай го и го познай за своето добро.

Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; Hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
