1 П ророчество за Вавилон, изявено във видение на Исая, Амосовия син:

The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.

2 В дигнете знаме на гола планина, извикайте с висок глас към тях, помахайте с ръка, за да влязат във вратите на благородните.

Set ye up an ensign upon the bare mountain, lift up the voice unto them, wave the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.

3 А з заповядах на посветените Си, повиках още и силните Си, за да извършат волята на гнева Ми. Да! Онези, които се радват на Моето величие.

I have commanded my consecrated ones, yea, I have called my mighty men for mine anger, even my proudly exulting ones.

4 Г ласът върху планините на множеството приличаше на голям народ! Шумен глас от царството на събраните народи! Господ на Силите преглежда войнството Си за бой.

The noise of a multitude in the mountains, as of a great people! the noise of a tumult of the kingdoms of the nations gathered together! Jehovah of hosts is mustering the host for the battle.

5 Т е идат от далечна страна, от небесните краища, дори Господ и оръжията на негодуванието Му, за да погуби цялата земя.

They come from a far country, from the uttermost part of heaven, even Jehovah, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.

6 Р идайте, защото денят Господен наближи, ще дойде като унищожение от Всемогъщия.

Wail ye; for the day of Jehovah is at hand; as destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

7 З атова всички ръце ще отслабват и сърцето на всеки човек ще се стопи.

Therefore shall all hands be feeble, and every heart of man shall melt:

8 Т е ще се смутят; болки и скърби ще ги обземат; ще бъдат в болки, както жена, която ражда; удивени ще гледат един към друг, лицата им - лица на пламък.

and they shall be dismayed; pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman in travail: they shall look in amazement one at another; their faces shall be faces of flame.

9 Е то, денят Господен иде - лют, с негодувание и пламенен гняв, за да опустоши земята и да изтреби от нея грешните ѝ;

Behold, the day of Jehovah cometh, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

10 з ащото небесните звезди и съзвездия няма да дадат светлината си; слънцето ще потъмнее при изгрева си и луната няма да сияе със светлината си.

For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light; the sun shall be darkened in its going forth, and the moon shall not cause its light to shine.

11 Щ е накажа света за злината им и нечестивите - за беззаконието им; ще направя да престане надменността на гордите и ще смиря високоумието на страшните.

And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity: and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

12 Щ е направя човек да е по-скъп от чисто злато. Да! Хората да са по-скъпи от офирското злато.

I will make a man more rare than fine gold, even a man than the pure gold of Ophir.

13 З атова ще разклатя небето и земята от разтърсване ще се премести при гнева на Господа на Силите, в деня на пламенната Му ярост.

Therefore I will make the heavens to tremble, and the earth shall be shaken out of its place, in the wrath of Jehovah of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

14 Т е ще бъдат като гонена сърна и като овце, които никой не събира; ще се връщат всеки при народа си и ще бягат всеки към земята си.

And it shall come to pass, that as the chased roe, and as sheep that no man gathereth, they shall turn every man to his own people, and shall flee every man to his own land.

15 В секи, който бъде намерен, ще бъде пронизан; и всички заловени ще паднат под меч.

Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is taken shall fall by the sword.

16 М ладенците им също ще бъдат смазани пред очите им; къщите им ще бъдат ограбени и жените им изнасилвани.

Their infants also shall be dashed in pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be rifled, and their wives ravished.

17 Е то, ще подбудя против тях мидяните, които няма да смятат среброто за нищо, а колкото до златото - няма да се наслаждават на него.

Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who shall not regard silver, and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.

18 А с лъковете си ще смажат юношите; и няма да се смилят над плода на утробата, окото им няма да пощади децата.

And their bows shall dash the young men in pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.

19 И с Вавилон, славата на царствата, красивия град, с който се гордеят халдейците, ще бъде, както когато Бог съсипа Содом и Гомор;

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans' pride, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

20 н икога няма да бъде населен, нито ще бъде обитаван от род в род; нито арабите ще разпъват шатрите си там, нито овчари ще отправят стадата си да почиват там.

It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall shepherds make their flocks to lie down there.

21 А диви котки ще почиват там; къщите им ще бъдат пълни с виещи животни; щрауси ще живеят там и пръчове ще скачат там;

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and ostriches shall dwell there, and wild goats shall dance there.

22 х иени ще вият в замъците им и чакали - в увеселителните им палати; и времето да стане това ще дойде скоро, дните му няма да се продължат.

And wolves shall cry in their castles, and jackals in the pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
