1 В четвъртата година на Юдейския цар Йоаким, Йосиевия син, дойде това слово към Йеремия от Господа и каза:

And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

2 В земи си един свитък книга и напиши в него всички думи, които ти говорих против Израел, против Юда и против всички народи - от деня, когато почнах да ти говоря, от дните на Йосия, дори до днес.

Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

3 Д ано Юдовият дом чуе цялото зло, което Аз мисля да им направя, така че да се върнат всеки от лошия си път и Аз да простя беззаконието и греха им.

It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

4 Т огава Йеремия повика Варух, Нириевия син; и Варух записа от устата на Йеремия в един свитък книга всички думи, които Господ му беше говорил.

Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Jehovah, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.

5 А Йеремия заповяда на Варух: Аз съм затворен; не мога да вляза в Господния дом;

And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of Jehovah:

6 з атова влез ти и от свитъка, който записа от устата ми, прочети Господните думи в ушите на народа, в Господния дом, в ден на пост; прочети ги и в ушите на всички от Юдея, които идват от градовете си.

therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of Jehovah in the ears of the people in Jehovah's house upon the fast-day; and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

7 Д ано принесат молба пред Господа и се върнат всеки от лошия си път; защото големи са гневът и яростта, които Господ е произнесъл против този народ.

It may be they will present their supplication before Jehovah, and will return every one from his evil way; for great is the anger and the wrath that Jehovah hath pronounced against this people.

8 В арух, Нириевият син, стори всичко, което му заповяда пророк Йеремия, като прочете от книгата Господните думи в Господния дом.

And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of Jehovah in Jehovah's house.

9 И в петата година на Юдейския цар Йоаким, Йосиевия син, в деветия месец, целият народ в Йерусалим и целият народ, който идваше в Йерусалим от Юдейските градове, прогласиха пост пред Господа.

Now it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem, proclaimed a fast before Jehovah.

10 Т огава Варух прочете от книгата Йеремиевите думи в Господния дом, в стаята на Гемария, син на секретаря Сафан, в горния двор, във входа на новата врата на Господния дом, в ушите на целия народ.

Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan, the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the new gate of Jehovah's house, in the ears of all the people.

11 А когато Михей, син на Гемария, Сафановия син, чу от книгата всички Господни думи,

And when Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of Jehovah,

12 с лезе в царския дворец, в стаята на секретаря, и видя, че всички първенци седяха там: писарят Елисам, Делайя, Семайевият син, Елнатан, Аховоровият син, Гемария, Сафановият син, Седекия, Ананевият син, и всички останали първенци.

he went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber: and, lo, all the princes were sitting there, to wit, Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.

13 Т огава Михей им извести всички думи, които беше чул, когато Варух прочиташе книгата в ушите на народа.

Then Micaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.

14 З атова всички първенци пратиха Юдий, син на Натания, син на Селемия, Хусиевия син, при Варух да му кажат: Вземи в ръката си свитъка, който си прочел в ушите на народа, и ела. И така, Варух, Нириевият син, взе свитъка в ръката си и дойде при тях.

Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thy hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.

15 Т е му казаха: Я седни и го прочети в ушите ни. И Варух го прочете в ушите им.

And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.

16 А като чуха всички думи, спогледаха се с ужас и казаха на Варух: Непременно ще съобщим на царя всички тези думи.

Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.

17 И попитаха Варух: Кажи ни сега - как си записал ти всички тези думи от устата му?

And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth?

18 А Варух им отговори: Той ми диктуваше устно всички тези думи и аз ги пишех с мастило в книгата.

Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.

19 Т огава първенците казаха на Варух: Иди, скрий се, ти и Йеремия; никой да не знае къде сте.

Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye are.

20 П осле влязоха при царя (свитъка обаче оставиха в стаята на писаря Елисам) и известиха в ушите на царя всички тези думи.

And they went in to the king into the court; but they had laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.

21 И така, царят прати Юдий да вземе свитъка; и той го взе от стаята на писаря Елисам. И Юдий го прочете в ушите на царя и в ушите на всички първенци, които стояха около царя.

So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll; and he took it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes that stood beside the king.

22 Ц арят седеше в зимния дворец ( а беше деветият месец) и пред него имаше мангал с огън.

Now the king was sitting in the winter-house in the ninth month: and there was a fire in the brazier burning before him.

23 С лед като Юдий беше прочел три-четири стълба, царя т сряза свитъка с писарското ножче и го хвърли в огъня на мангала, където целият свитък изгоря.

And it came to pass, when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, that the king cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.

24 И не се разтрепераха и не раздраха дрехите си нито царят, нито един от слугите му, които чуха всички тези думи.

And they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.

25 П ри това когато Елнатан, Делайя и Гемария ходатайстваха пред царя да не изгаря свитъка, той не ги послуша.

Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll; but he would not hear them.

26 Ц арят заповяда на сина си Йерамеил, на Серайя, Азрииловия син, и на Селемия, Авдииловия син, да хванат писаря Варух и пророка Йеремия; но Господ ги скри.

And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king's son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but Jehovah hid them.

27 И след като царят изгори свитъка и думите, които Варух записа от Йеремиевите уста, Господнето слово дойде към Йеремия и каза:

Then the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

28 В земи си пак друг свитък и запиши в него всичките предишни думи, които бяха в първия свитък, който Юдейският цар Йоаким изгори;

Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned.

29 а на Юдейския цар Йоаким да кажеш: Така казва Господ: Ти изгори този свитък и каза: Защо си записал в него, че вавилонският цар непременно ще дойде и ще разори тази земя, и ще направи да няма в нея нито човек, нито животно?

And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah thou shalt say, Thus saith Jehovah: Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?

30 З атова така казва Господ на Юдейския цар Йоаким: Няма да има от него кой да седи на Давидовия престол. И трупът му ще бъде изхвърлен - денем на горещината, а нощем на сланата.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

31 А з ще накажа него, потомството му и слугите му за беззаконието им; и ще докарам на тях, на йерусалимските жители и на Юдовите мъже цялото зло, което изрекох против тях; а те не послушаха.

And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they hearkened not.

32 И така, Йеремия взе друг свитък и го даде на писаря Варух, Нириевия син, който записа в него от устата на Йеремия всички думи на книгата, която Юдейският цар Йоаким беше изгорил в огъня; а към тях бяха прибавени и още много подобни думи.

Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides unto them many like words.
