1 М ежду това Саул каза на сина си Йонатан и на всичките си служители да убият Давид.

And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should slay David. But Jonathan, Saul's son, delighted much in David.

2 Н о Сауловият син Йонатан се радваше на успеха на Давид и му казваше: Баща ми Саул търси начин да те убие. Пази се до утре, стой на тайно място и се крий.

And Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to slay thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself in the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:

3 А з ще изляза и ще застана при баща си на нивата, където ще бъдеш ти, и ще говоря с баща си за теб. Ако разбера нещо, ще ти известя.

and I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will commune with my father of thee; and if I see aught, I will tell thee.

4 И Йонатан говорѝ добре за Давид на баща си Саул, като му каза: Да не съгреши царят против слугата си, против Давид, понеже той не е съгрешил пред теб и делата му са били много полезни за тебе.

And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been to thee-ward very good:

5 Т ой изложи живота си на опасност и уби филистимеца Голиат, и Господ извърши голямо избавление за целия Израел. Ти видя това и се зарадва. Защо сега искаш да съгрешиш против невинна кръв, като убиеш Давид без причина?

for he put his life in his hand, and smote the Philistine, and Jehovah wrought a great victory for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice; wherefore then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?

6 И Саул послуша Йонатановите думи и се закле в живота на Господа: Давид няма да бъде убит.

And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan: and Saul sware, As Jehovah liveth, he shall not be put to death.

7 Т огава Йонатан извика Давид и му каза за всичко това. И Йонатан доведе Давид при Саул; и той стоеше в присъствието му, както преди.

And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as beforetime.

8 С лед това пак избухна война. Давид излезе и се би с филистимците, и ги унищожи с голямо клане, и те бягаха пред него.

And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.

9 А злият дух от Господа отново дойде върху Саул, докато седеше в къщата си с копието си в ръка. А Давид свиреше.

And an evil spirit from Jehovah was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing with his hand.

10 И Саул поиска да прикове Давид с копието до стената; но той избяга от Сауловото присъствие и Саул заби копието си в стената. А Давид побегна и се избави през онази нощ.

And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the spear; but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, and he smote the spear into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.

11 Т огава Саул изпрати хора в дома на Давид, за да го дебнат и да го убият на сутринта. А Михала, жената на Давид, му каза за това: Ако не бягаш за живота си тази нощ, утре ще бъдеш убит.

And Saul sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal, David's wife, told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to-night, to-morrow thou wilt be slain.

12 И Михала спусна Давид през прозореца; така той избяга и се избави.

So Michal let David down through the window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.

13 Т огава Михала взе един домашен идол и го сложи на леглото; постави под главата му възглавница от козина и го покри с дреха.

And Michal took the teraphim, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats' hair at the head thereof, and covered it with the clothes.

14 И когато Саул прати хора, за да хванат Давид, тя каза: Болен е.

And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.

15 Н о Саул пак прати слугите си, за да видят Давид, като им заповяда: Донесете ми го с леглото, за да го убия.

And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.

16 А когато те влязоха, видяха, че домашният идол беше на леглото с възглавница от козина под главата му.

And when the messengers came in, behold, the teraphim was in the bed, with the pillow of goats' hair at the head thereof.

17 Т огава Саул каза на Михала: Защо ме излъга така и остави врага ми да се отърве? А Михала отговори на Саул: Давид ми каза: Пусни ме, иначе ще те убия!

And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me thus, and let mine enemy go, so that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?

18 Т ака Давид избяга и се отърва; и дойде при Самуил в Рама и му разказа всичко, което му беше сторил Саул. Тогава Давид и Самуил отидоха и се преместиха в Нават.

Now David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.

19 С лед това известиха на Саул, че Давид е в Нават в Рама.

And it was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.

20 И Саул прати хора да хванат Давид; но като видяха групата на пророците, че пророкуваха със Самуил, който началстваше над тях, Божият Дух дойде на Сауловите пратеници и пророкуваха и те.

And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as head over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

21 С лед като това беше съобщено на Саул, той прати още хора; но и те пророкуваха. И пак, за трети път, Саул прати хора; но и те пророкуваха.

And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.

22 Т огава самият той отиде в Рама; и като стигна до големия кладенец в Сокхо, попита: Къде са Самуил и Давид? И казаха: Те са в Нават в Рама.

Then went he also to Ramah, and came to the great well that is in Secu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.

23 И Саул тръгна към Нават в Рама; и Божият Дух дойде и на него и като вървеше по пътя, пророкуваше, докато стигна в Нават в Рама.

And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God came upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.

24 С ъблече и той дрехите си и пророкуваше и той пред Самуил, и лежеше гол през целия онзи ден и цялата онази нощ, затова казват: И Саул ли е между пророците?

And he also stripped off his clothes, and he also prophesied before Samuel, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
