1 И Господнето слово дойде към мен и каза:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

2 С ине човешки, говори на народа си и им кажи: Когато нанеса меча върху някоя земя и народът на онази земя вземе някой човек изпомежду си и го постави за страж,

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman;

3 и той, като види, че мечът идва върху земята, затръби и предупреди народа,

if, when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

4 т огава, ако мечът дойде и постигне някого, който чуе гласа на тръбата, а не се пази, кръвта му ще бъде на главата му.

then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5 Т ой е чул гласа на тръбата, а не се е свестил, кръвта му ще бъде върху него; докато, ако беше се свестил, той би избавил живота си.

He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.

6 Н о ако стражът види, че мечът идва и не затръби, и народът не се свести, и мечът дойде и постигне някого от тях, той наистина ще бъде постигнат поради беззаконието си; но кръвта му ще изискам от ръката на стража.

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned, and the sword come, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

7 Т ака е и с тебе, сине човешки; Аз те поставих страж на Израелевия дом; и така, чуй словото от устата Ми и ги предупреди от Моя страна.

So thou, son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.

8 К огато казвам на беззаконника: Беззаконнико, непременно ще умреш!, а ти не проговориш, за да го предупредиш да се върне от пътя си, онзи беззаконник ще умре за беззаконието си, обаче от твоята ръка ще изискам кръвта му.

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die, and thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at thy hand.

9 Н о ако предупредиш беззаконника да се върне от пътя си, а той не се върне от него, той ще умре за беззаконието си, а ти си избавил душата си.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he turn not from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but thou hast delivered thy soul.

10 З атова, сине човешки, кажи на Израелевия дом: Вие така говорихте: Престъпленията ни и греховете ни са върху нас и ние тлеем поради тях; как тогава ще живеем?

And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel: Thus ye speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live?

11 К ажи им: Заклевам се в живота Си, казва Господ Йехова, не благоволя в смъртта на нечестивия, а нечестивият да се върне от пътя си и да живее. Върнете се, върнете се от лошите си пътища, защо да умрете, доме Израелев?

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

12 З атова, сине човешки, кажи на народа си: Правдата на праведния няма да го избави в деня, когато престъпи; и нечестивият няма да падне поради нечестието си в деня, когато се отвърне от нечестието си, също както праведният няма да може да живее поради правдата си в деня, когато съгреши.

And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall he that is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sinneth.

13 К огато кажа на праведния, че непременно ще живее, а той, като уповава на правдата си, извърши неправда, то нито едно от неговите праведни дела няма да се спомни; а поради неправдата, която е извършил, той ще умре.

When I say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he hath committed, therein shall he die.

14 И когато кажа на нечестивия: Непременно ще умреш; а той се отвърне от греха си и постъпи законно и праведно;

Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15 а ко нечестивият върне залог, върне грабнатото, постъпва според повеленията на живота и не върши неправда, непременно ще живее; няма да умре;

if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 н ито един от греховете, които е извършил, няма да се помни против него; той е постъпил законно и праведно; непременно ще живее.

None of his sins that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

17 Н о твоят народ казва: Господният път не е прав. Обаче техният път не е прав.

Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

18 К огато праведният се върне от правдата си и извърши неправда, то поради нея ще умре.

When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die therein.

19 А когато беззаконникът се отвърне от беззаконието си и постъпи законно и праведно, той ще живее поради това.

And when the wicked turneth from his wickedness, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

20 В ие обаче казвате: Господният път не е прав. Доме Израелев, ще ви съдя всекиго според постъпките му.

Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

21 В дванадесетата година от плена ни, в десетия месец, на петия ден от месеца, при мене дойде един бежанец от Йерусалим и каза: Градът е превзет.

And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

22 А вечерта, преди да дойде бежанецът, Господнята ръка беше върху мен и отваряше устата ми, докато той дойде при мене сутринта; и така, устата ми се отвориха и не бях вече ням.

Now the hand of Jehovah had been upon me in the evening, before he that was escaped came; and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

23 И Господнето слово дойде към мен и каза:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

24 С ине човешки, тези, които живеят в онези опустошени места в Израелевата земя, говорят: Авраам беше само един, но пак наследи земята; а ние сме мнозина; на нас бе дадена земята в наследство.

Son of man, they that inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

25 З атова им кажи: Така казва Господ Йехова: Вие ядете месо с кръвта му, повдигате очи към идолите си и проливате кръв; и ще владеете ли земята?

Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes unto your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?

26 В ие се облягате на меча си, вършите мерзости и осквернявате всеки жената на ближния си; и ще владеете ли земята?

Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbor's wife: and shall ye possess the land?

27 К ажи им това: Така казва Господ Йехова: Заклевам се в живота Си, онези, които са в опустошените места, непременно ще паднат от меч; и който е на открито поле, ще го предам на зверовете да го изядат; а които са в крепостите и пещерите, ще измрат от мор.

Thus shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: As I live, surely they that are in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured; and they that are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28 И ще превърна земята в пустош и да бъде за удивление, и горделивата ѝ сила ще престане; и Израелевите планини ще запустеят, за да няма кой да минава.

And I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.

29 Т огава ще познаят, че Аз съм Господ, когато превърна земята в пустош и бъде за удивление поради всички мерзости, които извършиха.

Then shall they know that I am Jehovah, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed.

30 А колкото до тебе, сине човешки, твоят народ приказва за тебе при стените и вратите на къщите и като говорят един на друг, всеки на брат си, казват: Елате сега и чуйте какво е словото, което излиза от Господа.

And as for thee, son of man, the children of thy people talk of thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from Jehovah.

31 Т е идват при тебе, както идва народът, и седят пред тебе като Мой народ, и слушат твоите думи, но не ги изпълняват, защото с устата си показват много любов, но сърцето им отива след печалбите им.

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.

32 И , ето, ти си им като любима песен от човек, който има сладък глас и свири добре, защото слушат думите ти, а не ги изпълняват.

And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

33 А когато настане това (а то идва), тогава ще познаят, че е имало пророк между тях.

And when this cometh to pass, (behold, it cometh,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
