1 С лед смъртта на Ахаав Моав въстана против Израел.

And Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.

2 О хозия падна през решетката на своята горна стая, която беше в Самария, и се разболя; и прати хора, на които каза: Идете, допитайте се до акаронския бог Ваал-Зевув дали ще оздравея от тази болест.

And Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover of this sickness.

3 Н о ангел Господен нареди на тесвиеца Илия: Стани, иди да посрещнеш пратениците на самарийския цар и им кажи: Няма ли Бог в Израел, че отивате да се допитвате до акаронския бог Ваал-Зевув?

But the angel of Jehovah said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that ye go to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?

4 С ега така казва Господ: Няма да станеш от леглото, на което си легнал, а непременно ще умреш. Тогава Илия си отиде.

Now therefore thus saith Jehovah, Thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.

5 С лед като пратениците се върнаха при Охозия, той ги попита: Защо се върнахте?

And the messengers returned unto him, and he said unto them, Why is it that ye are returned?

6 Т е му отговориха: Един човек излезе да ни посрещне и ни каза: Идете, върнете се при царя, който ви е пратил, и му кажете: Така казва Господ: Няма ли Бог в Израел, че пращаш да се допитват до акаронския бог Ваал-Зевув? И така, няма да станеш от леглото, на което си легнал, а непременно ще умреш.

And they said unto him, There came up a man to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Is it because there is no God in Israel, that thou sendest to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

7 Ц арят ги попита: Как изглеждаше човекът, който излезе да ви посрещне и ви каза тези думи?

And he said unto them, What manner of man was he that came up to meet you, and told you these words?

8 И те му отговориха: Беше човек, облечен в кожух и препасан около кръста с кожен пояс. А той каза: Това е тесвиецът Илия.

And they answered him, He was a hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

9 Т огава царят прати при него един петдесетник с петдесетте му войници. Той се изкачи при Илия, който седеше на върха на хълма, и му каза: Божий човече, царят казва: Слез.

Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. And he spake unto him, O man of God, the king hath said, Come down.

10 А Илия отговори на петдесетника: Ако аз съм Божий човек, нека слезе огън от небето и нека изгори теб и петдесетте ти войници. Тогава слезе огън от небето и изгори него и петдесетте му войници.

And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

11 Ц арят пак прати при него друг петдесетник с петдесетте му войници. И той проговори: Божий човече, така казва царят: Слез скоро.

And again he sent unto him another captain of fifty and his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

12 А Илия им отговори: Ако съм аз Божий човек, нека слезе огън от небето и нека изгори теб и петдесетте войници. И Божият огън слезе от небето и изгори него и петдесетте му войници.

And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

13 Ц арят пак прати трети петдесетник с петдесетте му войници. А третият петдесетник, като се изкачи, дойде и коленичи пред Илия, и го помоли: Божий човече, моля ти се, нека бъде скъпоценен пред очите ти животът ми и животът на тези петдесет твои слуги.

And again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.

14 Е то, огън слезе от небето и изгори първите двама петдесетника с петдесетте им войници; а сега нека моят живот бъде скъпоценен пред очите ти.

Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and consumed the two former captains of fifty with their fifties; but now let my life be precious in thy sight.

15 Т огава ангел Господен каза на Илия: Слез с него; не бой се от него. И така, Илия стана и слезе с него при царя.

And the angel of Jehovah said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.

16 И му каза: Така казва Господ: Понеже си пратил хора да се допитват до акаронския бог Ваал-Зевув, като че няма Бог в Израел, за да се допитваш до Неговото слово, затова няма да станеш от леглото, на което си легнал, а непременно ще умреш.

And he said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed whither thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

17 И така, царят умря според Господнето слово, което Илия беше говорил. И вместо него се възцари Йорам във втората година на Юдейския цар Йорам, Йосафатовия син; понеже Охозия нямаше син.

So he died according to the word of Jehovah which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram began to reign in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.

18 А останалите дела, които Охозия извърши, са записани в Книгата на летописите на Израелевите царе.

Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
