1 Т огава всички военачалници и Йоанан, Кариевият син, и Езания, Осайевият син, и целият народ, от най-скромен до най-велик, пристъпиха

And all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

2 и казаха на пророк Йеремия: Молим, нека молбата ни бъде приятна пред теб и се помолѝ за нас - за всички тези, които остават - на Господа, твоя Бог (защото от мнозина останахме малцина, както очите ти ни виждат),

came near and said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication come before thee, and pray for us unto Jehovah thy God, for all this remnant (for we are left a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us);

3 д а ни изяви Господ, твоят Бог, пътя, по който трябва да ходим, и какво трябва да правим.

that Jehovah thy God may shew us the way wherein we should walk, and the thing that we should do.

4 Т огава пророк Йеремия им каза: Чух. Ето, ще се помоля на Господа, вашия Бог, според думите ви; и каквото ви отговори Господ, ще ви го известя; няма да скрия нищо от вас.

And Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard; behold, I will pray unto Jehovah your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass whatsoever thing Jehovah shall answer you, I will declare it unto you: I will keep nothing back from you.

5 Т огава те казаха на Йеремия: Господ да бъде истинен и верен свидетел между нас, че наистина ще постъпим според всички думи, с които Господ, твоят Бог, ще те прати при нас.

And they said to Jeremiah, Jehovah be a true and faithful witness amongst us, if we do not even according to all the word for which Jehovah thy God shall send thee to us.

6 Б ило добро или зло, ще послушаме гласа на Господа, нашия Бог, при Когото те пращаме, за да ни бъде добре, когато послушаме гласа на Господа, нашия Бог.

Whether it be good or whether it be evil, we will hearken unto the voice of Jehovah our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us when we hearken unto the voice of Jehovah our God.

7 И след десет дни Господнето слово дойде към Йеремия.

And it came to pass at the end of ten days, that the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah.

8 Т огава той повика Йоанан, Кариевия син, всички военачалници, които бяха с него, и целия народ, от най-скромен до най-велик, и им каза:

And he called Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest,

9 Т ака казва Господ, Израелевият Бог, при Когото ме пратихте, за да изложа молбата ви пред Него:

and said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel, to whom ye sent me to present your supplication before him:

10 А ко останете да живеете в тази земя, тогава ще ви съградя и няма да ви разоря, ще ви насадя и няма да ви изкореня; защото се разкаях за злото, което ви сторих.

If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not overthrow, and I will plant you, and not pluck up; for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

11 Н е бойте се от вавилонския цар, от когото се страхувахте, не бойте се от него, казва Господ; защото Аз съм с вас, за да ви спася и да ви избавя от ръката му.

Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid: be not afraid of him, saith Jehovah; for I will be with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

12 Щ е ви покажа милост, така че той да ви пожали и да ви върне в земята ви.

And I will grant mercies to you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.

13 Н о ако кажете: Не искаме да живеем в тази земя, и не послушате гласа на Господа, вашия Бог,

But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land; so as not to hearken unto the voice of Jehovah your God,

14 и кажете: Не, а ще идем в Египетската земя, където няма да видим война, нито да чуем тръбен глас, нито да огладнеем за хляб, и там ще живеем -

saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger for bread; and there will we dwell;

15 т огава слушайте словото Господне, вие, останали от Юда - така казва Господ на Силите, Израелевият Бог: Ако решително насочите лицата си да влезете в Египет и отидете да бъдете пришълци там,

—and now, therefore, hear the word of Jehovah, ye remnant of Judah: thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: If ye really set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there,

16 т огава мечът, от който се боите, ще ви стигне там, в Египетската земя, и гладът, от който се страхувате, ще ви преследва там, в Египет; и там ще измрете.

then it shall come to pass, that the sword which ye fear shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof ye are afraid, shall follow hard after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die.

17 Т ака ще стане и с всички мъже, които биха насочили лицата си да отидат в Египет, за да бъдат пришълци там; те ще измрат от меч, глад и мор; нито един от тях няма да остане или да избегне от злото, което Аз ще докарам върху тях.

And it shall be that all the men that have set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.

18 З ащото така казва Господ на Силите, Израелевият Бог: Както гневът и яростта Ми се изляха върху йерусалимските жители, така яростта Ми ще се излее върху вас, когато влезете в Египет; и ще бъдете за проклинане и учудване, за проклятие и укоряване; и няма да видите вече това място.

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: As mine anger and my fury have been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt; and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach, and ye shall see this place no more.

19 Г оспод е говорил за вас, останали от Юда, като казва: Не отивайте в Египет; знайте добре, че днес ви заявявам това.

Jehovah hath said concerning you, the remnant of Judah, Go ye not into Egypt. Know certainly that I have admonished you this day.

20 З ащото вие постъпихте лукаво против своите души, когато ме пратихте при Господа, вашия Бог, и казахте: Помоли се за нас на Господа, нашия Бог, и ни извести всичко това, което Господ, нашият Бог, ще каже, и ще го сторим.

For ye deceived yourselves in your own souls, when ye sent me unto Jehovah your God, saying, Pray for us unto Jehovah our God; and according to all that Jehovah our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.

21 А з днес ви известих; но вие не послушахте гласа на Господа, вашия Бог, в нищо, за което ме прати при вас.

And I have this day declared to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah your God, nor anything for which he hath sent me unto you.

22 И така, сега знайте добре, че ще измрете от меч, глад и мор на мястото, където желаете да отидете, за да бъдете пришълци там.

And now know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go to sojourn.
